It has been a rewarding (groan) weekend for former Continuum guests.

Shaun Tan has won an Aurealis Award for Tales from Outer Suburbia (Best Illustrated Book or Graphic Novel), and Best Children’s Illustrated Work/Picture Book went to Richard Harland and Laura Peterson (illustrator) for The Wolf Kingdom Series.

Then Margo Lanagan's Tender Morsels was named a Printz Honor book.

Finally, Neil Gaiman was woken at an unseemly hour this morning to hear that The Graveyard Book was awarded this year's Newbery Medal.

But it's not only guests who benefit from the Continuum Effect. Continuum Chair '05, Kirstyn McDermott also won an Aurealis Award - Best Horror Short Story - for Painlessness, (in Greatest Uncommon Denominator (GUD), #2).

Congratulations to all "our" winners!

Make sure you're ready for Continuum 5, who knows what effect it might have on you?

Since then, they have occupied them in shifts around the clock, holding priestless Sunday prayer services and, they said, steadily building support for their volunteer rosters.

(Sauce - x-posted)
Update: Poppy's coverage.

Hi every one,

We have started a new community to house information on all the various Australasian Fan funds available to us. It's my hope that eventually, this will be a central repository for all the info, and a great way to watch the voting races, ask for help for nominations, and know exactly what you're up for when you apply for one of the funds.

It's here:
http://community.livejournal.com/aust_sf_fan_fun/profile

If you've ever thought of getting a Fan Fund to fly you somewhere exciting, or have a friend who has thought of it, then please do join up! It's only the beginning, so we have firm info on GUFF, and a few links to a few other things, but this project will grow when YOU guys help up grow!

So please, join us! It's blisssssss!
:-)

I'm a bit shy at odd times, and if you think you're on a community that would like to know about this, please feel free to re-phrase, paraphrase, or re-post this as you like.
