Nominations Open for Ditmar Awards 2008
Greetings all,

This is just a short friendly message to let you know that I have been appointed the Administrator for the Ditmar Awards for 2008, and that the nominations are now open. The Ditmars will be presented at a ceremony during SwanCon 33 "The State of the Art" in Perth, Western Australia.



Eligibility & Nominations

Works of science fiction, fantasy and horror (SF/F/H) are only eligible for nomination if:

* they were first published or released anywhere in the world in 2007; and
* the nominee was an Australian citizen or permanent resident in 2007.

Nominations will be accepted only from natural persons active in fandom, or from full or supporting members of the national convention of the year of the award. Where a nominator may not be known to the Ditmar Awards Administrator, the nominator should provide the name of someone known to the Administrator (a referee) who can vouch for the nominator.

Nominators may nominate any number of works in any category. However, the nominator may nominate any given work only once in a category. All nominations must include the name of the nominator. Where a nominated work does not meet the criteria for its nominated category, the committee may move the nomination to the appropriate category; or where a work does not meet any criteria, refuse the nomination.


Nomination Deadline

Nominations must reach the Ditmar Awards Administrator by close of business on Friday the 8th February 2008. Completed forms may be:

* Mailed to Ditmar Awards, 2 Aldinga St, Kenwick WA 6107; or
* Emailed to ditmars2008@gmail.com

The Ditmar Awards Administrator will confirm the validity and authenticity of all nominations.

Nominations will be counted as valid as long as they are postmarked on or before 8th February 2008 or time stamped by 5pm Australian Western Summer Time 8th February 2008.
