| | The songs you write | ] | This year, instead of a songbook, Conterpoint, the 2007 Floating Northeast Filk Con, will be doing something new. Each convention member will get a CD-ROM of songs. It will include not only words and printable music, but MP3 recordings to learn the songs from! Where will these songs come from? From you!
Please submit your songs to me at songbook at mcgath dot com, no later than May 15. The only required part is words (unless you're submitting a pure instrumental piece). If you have notated music, send it along in just about any format -- TIFF, GIF, PDF, Finale, or paper (ask for my snail mail address). If you can make a recording, please send it along as an MP3 file. It doesn't have to be studio quality even by filk standards -- anything that is good enough to let people learn the song will do. (With files over a megabyte, it would be a good idea to let me know separately that you're sending the file; mail servers sometimes won't deliver large attachments.)
Contributors retain all rights to their contributions. The CD-ROM will be distributed only to convention members, except for a small number of copies that may be sold for charitable purposes (e.g., Interfilk auctions).
Start sending in those songs, so we'll have a great collection for Conterpoint members! And don't forget to register for Conterpoint!
Edit: Contributors will get copies, of course. |
