Hey guys. I'm planning to rehaul and start writing this journal again as soon as we've moved out of our flat (Thursday). Right now things are a bit insane, but I could use the emotional outlet that a journal provides, particularly as I'm moving back to Japan in August (and I want to keep in touch with glass_bubblegum, who's also there, among others).

I'm selling a load of my lolita clothes here at 'just take it off my hands please' prices.

I also have a ton of English-language and Japanese manga I don't want any more. Here's the list; comment if you're interested (and you'd be doing me a HUGE favour ♥).

My mom, brother and I are ridiculously compassionate toward cats. For one, I am concerned about the millions of homeless cats that end up just being put to sleep or starve/freeze/whatnot after being abandoned. I know there isn't much I can do, but we are doing what we can to help. PEOPLE NEED TO FIX THEIR ANIMALS, EVEN IF THEY LIVE INDOORS. I have always known this is super important because we already have way too many cats, but after randomly lurking on the internets I found A SHITTON. OF GOOD REASONS.

Yesterday I was at dinner with my mom and hubby and I noticed that a few tables away from us was this girl who looked a lot like someone I knew in high school. Well it was her. -_- Why is it that people you went to school with automatically think you're friends? Or even if you were friends then and have since lost touch, that you're still friends? Or that I care? I do not care. I have nothing in common with these people any more and I wish that she'd just pretended I wasn't there. *rolls eyes* It was such a weird conversation too. She's all like, "OMG BECKY?! HI!" And I'm all, "Yea, wever." Luckily my mom was happy to see her and was more than polite enough for everyone. At least I remembered to introduce my husband again. ("Oh, you remember my husband David?") Then, without any prompting she decides to drop the fact that she's getting married, and I'm all: "Do not care. Was not invited." It's certainly not like I should be jealous as I've been married to the awesomest husband EVAR for the past two years. I kept feeling like she expected me to volunteer some personal information like my phone number or something, but TOO BAD. Do not want to hang out, do not want to catch up, DO NOT CARE. I think I made her uncomfortable enough to stay away from here on out, but I was still polite (at least I did my best not to be rude). After we all left for college many of my high school friends changed, and not for the better. Some of them didn't change at all, again not for the better. And some stayed just the way I like them. Some people, okay ONE PERSON, I miss that I don't regularly see these days. Other than that, I really hated high school and would rather keep it in the past. I like my present so much better.

I have really taken a liking to the band, The Bird and the Bee. They are really neat, just a guy and a girl. The sound is pretty neat and catchy; it's all 1960s and 1970s retro. It's kind of strange to dub them so, but they are rather cute (not a great descriptor but the closest I can get). Many of their songs capture the themes and moods of some pretty popular ones from back in the day. I like them so much I went out and bought their first two CDs. I love Shinya's hair only because it's attached to Shinya's head. It was a lot curlier the first time he tried that look but somehow I think he was really aiming for this chia-pet thing.

lol quiet night is quiet at work. But fucked if I'm not motivated today and shit. I've been unpicking things, knitting, and trying to do stuff for the doll con. I'm trying to see who's gonna put their hand up to help out with workshops so that it doesn't end up being just Me, Carol and Aeryn doing them all. Cause I've got traders to worry about too, and fuck how boring would it be to hear just our voices all weekend D: So if anyone reading this is thinking of going and would like to host a workshop (or co-host even), let me know. :D

Speaking of which, Beck, do you want to do a wig styling workshop? Siera said I have to put it at the end of the weekend so that she doesn't have to deal with your inflated ego. :P

I WANNA SEW THINGS FOR MY DOLLS DAMMIT! I wonder if I'll have the energy to do that when I get home tonight? I doubt it, but we'll see.

Oh, and I had that Bella shoot to post! I might as well do that now while I'm here. Made this shirt for the lovely hydrakitten, and when I was taking photos for her, I just kept on taking photos >.> To me it looks like Bella has slept with the captain of some ship and stolen his shirt >:3

I love that I have what David calls the "Fashion SWAT" laugh, which supposedly is reserved only for making fun of people. I don't know why I love that so, but I do. Everyone needs a good laugh at someone's else's expense without their knowledge every now and then. I think it's one of the things that keep us human.

So I took the day off from sewing today and cleaned up a bit. I finished my grey skirt and I'm very pleased with the end result. Hopefully I'll be back in the mood to sew on Monday and I'll crank out another skirt.

I was also trying to coordinate outfits for Otakon tonight and I'm not quite sure what the hell I'm doing. I think I'd like to go punk Lolita for Friday just for ease of going to the dealers' room and what not. However it is the day for all the Lolita events and I'm not sure how I will be received. At the same time though... I don't really care. I don't have reservations for the tea party, I don't want to go to the other meet-up at the stupid mall and I think I'm only really going to go to the fashion show... I have no idea what other panels are going on as far as fashion goes and I don't know that I really care enough to go. What on earth could they tell me that I don't already know? *insert snobby know-it-all jackass laugh here*

Oh and David and I had our first Summer Adventure of the year! We decided to go out and get ice cream the other night, simple enough right? We chose to go to a local favorite, Bruster's which is just a very small stand that's in the middle of a parking lot. It looked like rain, but we took an umbrella and with my whole family's orders (about 7 ice creams total) we set off. Well once we arrived it started raining a bit more and despite the weather, the line was still long (it's a popular place) so we got into the line. We were under our umbrella and figured it wasn't all that bad. Well just as we stepped up to the window to place our order.... ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. It looked more like a monsoon out there. There was thunder crashing unbelievably loud and lightning brightening the sky. The power even flickered more than once as we stood there placing our order! At least the small stand had somewhat of a shelter closest to the building so we were relatively dry. However with the two bags of ice cream in tow, David and I decided to just make a run for the car instead of some grand scheme. So David went on ahead to unlock the car and I took the ice cream. By the time we made it to the car, which really wasn't that far, we were DRENCHED, the paper bags that the ice cream were in were destroyed, and I had already lost one ice cream as it fell from the wet bag. T_T At least I didn't fall on my ass as I was wearing long jeans which were really soaked and flip-flops that tend to slip in the rain. We returned back to my parents' house completely showered and one ice cream short. As we drove back we noticed at least three traffic lights had lost power. Once we got there we found out that the ice cream I lost was either my mom's or my aunt's (they got the same thing) and were nice enough to share with one another. Even so I still felt bad. Everyone was grateful that we'd toughed it out though, and that was certainly the best ice cream I'd ever eaten. MMmmmm.... THE END.

I also thought they were being very touchy as well. Calling me racist ? I live in a mulit-cultural family, with a multi-cultural back ground. I have had friends who were racist so i have a good idea on what a RACIST is. And If I'm racist for noting the colour of their skin, i guess the next person to say "oh..that white guy.." Is also a racist. True, i had some irrational things to say, but then again
like i said
i was having a shit day, i mean, having one of my BEST friends stolez from some ass hole.

Ended up not going out cause I was cold and my neck and shoulders are really sore (and the seats at Hoyts in Northland are so uncomfortable DX). So instead Brendon and I sat at home and watched You Don't Mess With The Zohan. Adam Sandler is always good for the lols. I think I needed to laugh at stupid shit. And everything in life needs more Disco Breaks I think.
