Art Auction Bidding Guidelines


ConGlomeration strives to make the Art Show enjoyable for everyone. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask an Art Show staff member.

1. All prospective bidders must hold ConGlomeration memberships. Valid badges are required to pick up purchases.
2. The Art Auction is at approx. 10 p.m. Saturday in the Julia Bell Ballroom.
3. Most pieces in the art show will have an immediate purchase price at which you can buy the item before it has any bids. However, once a piece receives a bid, it cannot be bought immediately.
4. A piece must have three or more bids to be included in the auction.
5. All bidding must be in increments of $1 or more. ConGlomeration and the auctioneer reserve the right to set minimum bid increments during the auction.
6. Your bid may not be changed to another piece after the auction; your bid may not be cancelled after the auction has begun. Be sure of your decision before deciding to enter the auction.
7. If a piece on which you placed a written bid does not get a third bid, and does not go to auction, the piece is yours at the final bid price.
8. Once you bid on an item, you need to check to see if it receives three bids and goes to auction. If it does go to auction, you need to be present to defend your bid. ConGlomeration cannot determine the order in which pieces will go to auction, so it is a good idea to have a representative at the auction with your bidding instructions if you cannot stay for the entire auction.
9. ConGlomeration will honor personal checks with proper identification, traveler’s checks or cash.
10. Art is available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. If you do not pick up and pay for your piece, it will be returned to the artist unsold.
11. ConGlomeration respects the wishes of artists concerning after-auction (Sunday) sales. Some artists will sell on Sunday for the immediate purchase price, some will not. Please check with Art Show staff for prices on pieces you are interested in.
