Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are essential to any convention. Without volunteers, ConGlomeration simply wouldn’t exist.

Everyone you see working for ConGlomeration is a volunteer. This includes the convention committee and a great many members who are giving their time and energy to see that you have a good time. All of the departments such as the Con Suite, Registration and Programming are staffed exclusively with volunteers. All of the events depend upon volunteer labor.

There’s a lot of wonderful benefits to volunteering. ConGlomeration offers free T-shirts to volunteers who work at least six hours. And for every four hours you work, you get a chance in a drawing for one of four free memberships to next year’s ConGlomeration. But there’s other benefits — volunteering is without question the easiest way to learn about things that interest you, and to meet people with interests like yours. If you like art, sign up for a shift in the art show. You’ll meet other people who like art too. Want to meet the GoHs? Sign up for a shift in Hospitality, chances are they will stop in there for at least a little while. Want to see everything? Do a few hours as a Volunteer, running errands.

Remember, it takes a lot of work to put on an event like this and we need all the help we can get. While it’s true that if everyone who attended the convention signed up for just one volunteer shift we wouldn’t have enough jobs to go around, it is also true that we never seem to get enough volunteers. If you enjoy cons, show your appreciation by putting something back into them.
Take a few hours out of your weekend and sign up for a shift. Just go to the Registration area and ask where and when we need volunteers.
