Hi. I'm new here, and this is a wonderful idea and I'd love to jump on the bandwagon and be a reviewer. However, I'm not really a member of any big fandoms, so I don't know if any of you will need me. Anyway, if anyone's interested:

What sort of stories you're willing to review:
Lilo & Stitch
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
Invader Zim
Disney!Beauty and the Beast
King of the Hill

I'd be willing to read just about any Disney fic as well, but those are the fandoms I'm most knowledgable about, particularly the first very unpopular two. I can't promise I'll be able to catch characterization and canon-related errors in anything else.

How many stories you're willing to review:

Anything you have for me.

Your time constraints:

I have a lot of free time and I read and write pretty fast, so I should be able to get your story done pretty quickly.

Personal tastes:

I don't like slash, I don't like Gaston/Belle, I don't like 42, I don't like NOS-4-A2, I don't like L&S stuff that's too series-ish and I don't like porn. And I will NOT read your modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
Apart from that, I'll take pretty much anything- non-BatB AUs, crossovers, het, gen, angst, horror, comedy, anything will do if it's well written. I'm hardest on OOC-ness and OCs. By which I don't mean I hate OCs, I like them if they're well-written and I have several myself but if they're not well-written I won't hesitate to point that out. My favorite genres are horror and comedy and my favorite pairings are Zim/Gaz, Dib/Gretchen, Dib/Tak and XR/Mira.

Fandom experience:

I've seen everything L&S and BLoSC-related, and I've seen all of IZ but a few episodes. If I need to see a certain episode to understand your fic fully, tell me and I'll find and watch it. I've read the Zim wiki and I have a good knowledge about the canon universe and how Irkens function. I've seen the original Beauty and the Beast several times but have no interest in the direct-to-video sequels. I've seen most of King of the Hill and I know what the characters are like.
Also, I have a pretty good grasp of grammar and spelling.

There. :3

Sort of Stories: Harry Potter, Full Metal Alchemist, Prince of Tennis

I do read/watch other random fandoms though and if you have one you'd like me to review asking me would be your best bet. I also dabble in lot, so if extensive knowledge isn't really needed I could probably do a lot more.
How Many: Really depends on the length, I guess I'll say 3 right now, but I'd like to do it continuously.
Time Constraints: First come, first review. xD It depends on the length, but I'll try to do them as soon as possible, I'm a pretty fast reader so it shouldn't take THAT long. =] Again, I'd just like to do it continuously so if you want it by a certain time you can just tell me and I'll tell you if I can do it by then.
Personal Tastes: I prefer yaoi and gen to yuri or het. I've never read yuri, and little het. If I'm concriting I'd like an R rating or below. I don't really have any other set squicks, if I choose not to concrit I will be able to tell you a reason. =]
Fandom Experience: I haven't read the manga for Prince of Tennis, I have seen all 178 episodes, movie, OVAs, etc. Anything that's been subbed, I've watched. I haven't seen the musicals though. For Full Metal Alchemist, I've read all scanlated chapters of the manga, but only up to episode 28 or so of the anime. If I need to know a certain episode of the anime to review your story tell me and I'd be happy to watch it. I've seen the movie. For Harry Potter I've read all the released books and movies.

TRANSFORMERS AND XANTH FAN FIC [22 Dec 2006|05:27pm]

swatch_dogs
Greetings,

I am willing to review Xanth and Transformers fanfic. I would prefer to review one piece at a time and I may take up to a week per story. I am familiar with the complete canons so I should have something to say about any storyline/pairing you toss my way.

If anyone is having a hard time finding someone to review any sort of obscure fic/slash, I would be happy to read it. I might not know the storyline but I can help with grammar and mechanics and such.

I also help maintain the [info]tamagotchislash community which could be of some interest to some of you. We don't take ourselves seriously  so please feel free to post even if you have never even seen a Tamagotchi before.

Happy Holidays!

Regards,

Swatch Dog

Reviewer/Prospect for Reviews [24 Nov 2006|03:33pm]

Hey all... new to the community. First, let me fill out my reviewer form:

what sort of stories you're willing to review : Harvest Moon, obscure, I know. Also, I'm cool with Harry Potter and/or Beatles fanfiction.

how many stories you're willing to review : However many I get, I guess. I frequent the HM section, and since it's kind of obscure a fandom, I don't expect to do much reviewing there. :P

your time constraints : I'm a bit of a busy person, what with school and music stuff, and my own writing. But I think I'll take a week, tops.

anything about your personal tastes may be relevant: I'm not too keen on lemons. I mean, I'll read them here and there, but I wouldn't really be able to offer my advice on them. Other than that... I read all sorts of fics.

anything about your fandom experience that's relevant: I'm really keen on HM canon, and pretty alright with HP canon. I probably know more about HM though, since I write for it and not HP.

Anyway, here's my story for anyone who'd like to check it out- Harvest Moon based (Back to Nature to be specific). The premise is typical of the fics in the fandom (boy works on farm), but there's a few things different here. Also, it takes place starting with the main character's second year in town (it's a continuation of another story), but I'm told it recaps the first story well. Iiiii don't think you really have to know the canon inside and out to get this, because I try to work it so non-HM fans could read it too, but I guess we'll see.

So yeah, any concrit's fine with me. I'm sure there's wonky bits abound in my story. =) You can respond here or at ff.net- it's all good. I don't mind doing a "I'll read yours if you read mine" thing, either.

Hello! I've been writing a fanfiction for the game Final Fantasy XI. So far I've only introduced three major characters, all original characters at that. I know the chapters are short (I get too redundant if I try to draw out some events), and I don't have a beta-reader (though spell-check has become a dear, dear friend of mine).

Anyway, any opinions you all have on the story, the writing, or anything at all is muchly appreciated.

Title: Relentless Reminiscence
Fandom: Final Fantasy XI
Genre: Action/Adventure/Fantasy
Rating: PG13 (for mild swearing)
Chapters: 10
Words: 7364
Link: Linkage
Summary (as seen on FFN): Meet the rising adventurers of Vana'diel as they face the daily challenges of defending their homelands. Fighting goblins, learning new skills, and... dancing for gil? Maybe an adventurer's life isn't as great as it's made out to be.

Hey guys, awesome community! Anyway, to the point: I somewhat recently posted a rather long one-shot dealing with self-injury. I got some of the most amazing, detailed, and lengthy comments I've ever received on my writing for it. But I feel like most of the comments are praising what the fic says rather than how it says it; I'm interested in a critique of the writing and the characterization (as well as anything else you feel like mentioning).

Title: Orphic
Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: Kakashi/Sasuke
Rating: PG
Warnings: It does focus on self-injury, so if you'd get uncomfortable with that, it's not the fic for you.
Wordcount: 9,128

Thanks! Whatever kind soul takes this fic on, take your time with it, I'm in no hurry.

Good day to you good reviewers!

I'm a brand new writer here and I'm hoping to find a reviewer who's familiar with/comfortable with Transformers: Generation 1, both comics and cartoon.

If any of you have the time or inclination, I'd appreciate any con crit you can provide for the following fic:

Hello everyone.

I would like constructive critisizm for a story I'm working on. The story itself is a Beyblade fic and is moving along quite nicely, but I still think it could be better. I want to make it as enjoyable for the readers as possible. Any advice?

Hi concritters!

I'd really like you to read and review my recently finished fiction. It's in the Harry Potter fandom; a post-OotP story, rated R for dark themes and a considerable amount of loopiness. There are some slashy undertones, but nothing graphic.

Also, if you're feeling generous, the rest of my portfolio is linked off of that page. Most of my other pieces are considerably pornier, though.

Thanks very much, y'all.

I don't mean to bother you guys, but I need help with a transition. I'm stuck between a memory and a dream, and I'm not sure if I should just do the dream right after, if I should have a transition, or what. Please check it out.

And here's the link, ye merry hippogriffs.

Avatar/Teen Titans crossover [31 May 2006|09:46am]

Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender and Teen Titans
Title: Learning How to Fly ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2961312/1/ )
Genre: General/action
Characters: Avatar (Sokka, Katara, Aang) Teen Titans (Terra...maybe eventually Beast Boy)
Principal problems: I'm not really sure where to go with this. It's my first time writing in either fandom and my first time ever attempting a crossover. Right now only the first chapter is up, I want to work on a second one...but feel that I'm lacking direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Requesting a Review [13 May 2006|05:44pm]

melamserious
A Sirius-centeric fic. Harry Potter, and such.

Title: Sirius Black: Cafe Racer
Author: [Unknown LJ tag]
Rating: PG-13 (Boarderline R) Language.
Pairings/Characters: Sirius, Remus, Remus/Sirius, Various OCs
Summary: Sirius Black's bold attempts at Muggle cafe racer glory, and the dirty cheating that insues.
Word Count: 2,000
Disclaimer: Not mine, JKR's. No money being made here.
Author's Notes: We can blame this on the History Channel. I was watching "Modern Marvels: Motorcycles" in which they mentioned the practice of cafe racing in London. Which well, wouldn't Sirius do that?

Alright. I write Shadow of the Colossus fanfiction. Used to write Final Fantasy stuff and generally still do, but lately SOTC has had me by the brain and won't let go. Unfortunately SOTC fanfiction gets if anything LESS thoughtful comments than FFVII does, and I am at my wits end after getting all of two reviews for a little story I posted up two days ago.

'She'. Shadow of the Colossus, probably a PG rating, no spoilers that you won't come across in the opening intro of the game anyway. Help. Tech me 2 rite gud.

Request for reviews, feedback, and suggestions. [19 Mar 2006|09:00am]

genus_draco
I sincerely hope I'm doing this right, but if I'm not, please feel free to delete this. It's my first time going out into public and asking for people I don't know to look at and comment on my stories, so you'll have to forgive me if I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing just yet.

I'm not new to writing, but these two oneshot stories are the only ones I've ever really uploaded before and had a modicum of confidence in. Frankly, the thought of strangers assessing them is more than a little gut-wrenchingly intimidating but it's something I truly want to improve on. Any and all suggestions or corrections are very much welcomed.

Title: Ephemera
Series: Final Fantasy X, pre.
Characters: Lulu & Chappu.
Point of View: Lulu, 3rd Person.
Summary: Memories of the past still haunt no matter how dead and gone they may be.
It's a series of instances in Lulu's past put together in a sort of detached and disjointed way, and is also my first project.

Title: Heliac
Series: Gensomaden Saiyuki, pre.
Characters: Sanzo and Goku (non-yaoi.)
Point of View: Goku, 3rd person.
Summary: Sanzo is made of sunshine and cigarette smoke, and Goku knows when he rises and when he falls.
Similar to Ephemera, it's a bunch of surreal instances put together as they came to mind and all I can say is metaphors ahoy.

Leave your reviews in comments, because I have no account on fanfiction.net or anywhere else just yet. Thank you in advance!

I'm currently in the process of writing a story based in the Forgotten Realms setting, and I'd appreciate any feedback or criticism regarding what I've done so far. Thanks in advance.

Yin and Yang [16 Oct 2005|06:40pm]

My friend and I tend to co-write fan fictions together. We would love to get some honest feedback on it. Some reason this one hasn't been getting much feedback at all and I know how some of the people on ff.net tend to not review something if there is problem with a particular fiction.

Title: Yin and Yang

Author(s): Mdalia and RebLaw

Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender

Rating: PG

Description: Aang is kidnapped and taken to a world filled with familiar faces who all seems to be polar opposite of the people he knew.
