Problem with SD memory card and device driver
My camera works with SD memory cards, and I use the card slot on my computer to transfer the photos on my hard drive (rather than a USB cable). I used to have two memory cards and had no problem with them - but I lost one, and bought another one, and now my computer has problem recognizing the cards.
If I've just turned on my computer and I put one of the cards into the slot, the computer reads it fine. But if I take it out (whether I just pop it out or remove it safely doesn't make a difference) and then try to put it back in, the computer doesn't read it anymore.
When I go into the device manager, the error message is as follows: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"
What can I do to erase this previous instance of the device driver that's still in memory?
EDIT: I'm running Vista, if that makes a difference.
