Good Morning:

I'm new around these parts, so I guess a brief introduction is in order.
I'm Beth. I'm 22 and I'm from Houston. I enjoy drawing and I enjoy the sick, sad irony that is my so called life.
On the brighter side, I have finally started doodling out my life in slices.
It's not fiction, but it's original and evolving daily.

Anyway, I'm not too good an artist so you might have to deal with some pretty sketchy art here and there. But I'm developing myself.

Now onto the story! I only have 2 pages up but I am doing one page a day.
This story is about my life. A bit of history, if you will:

1104: Backstory

In 2005 I met a girl, Colleen, and she and I blossomed into a quasi-relationship. She helped me come out and spoon-fed me gay culture. She is a very out and proud girl and I admired dedication. She smashed my heart, yadda yadda yadda, I moved on and she entered a 2-year relationship with an abusive/oppressive girl. We had unresolved feeling for one another, but the timing was off. Finally, last Thanksgiving we synced back up and started dating. Magic...fireworks...all that jazz. This past March, Colleen confesses to me that she has 'feelings' for a man from Rhode Island and wishes to pursue her suppressed bisexual urges.

That is the quickie version that brings you up to date.

2008 Comikaze 24 Hour Challenge

Today I got myself one of those huge rubber exercise balls to use as a desk chair. I feel bubbly and want to share the bouncy, impulsive feeling! I have been really enjoying reading all you folk's stuff. Has anybody else got the new Chris Ware "datebook"? He does comic diaries all the time for himself (apparently) and LORD are the miserable! Good pacing and expressions tho!

Anyway!

I haven't been doing many comics for the web lately because I've been working on a collaborative 2008 calendar with my main squeeze (who also writes & does art and comics). It's finished now and you can have a copy! It is basically a zine -- the cost only covers postage and a little of printing -- & you can have all-new comics, recipes, and illustrations all year long. The moths alternate artists -- actually (relating to this group), I did one month just of odd dream moments. All of the comics I contributed happen to be autobiographical stories, too!

Don't read the following if you have triggers about rape, torture, or murder.

The above two pages were the hardest I've done in a while. Not because they were technically difficult, but because the the subject matter is deadly serious for me. I only have one panel showing kids harassing me, but that did happen, and the same thing happened to Gisberta before they killed her! After these pages, I also did another for my regular web comic, about a different victim.

Hallo everybody, I was recently told about this place because I'm embarking on a comic journaling project -- trying to get back into doing daily "diary comics" or just a comic every day on "real" material. Here's what I've got so far on this run (in the past I've done small two-panel comics everyday). Errr, on to the comics -->
