What can we call you? Mandee or The Great Mandeenee
Where are you from? Maryland in the US of A (sorry, guys). I'm in London for the summer though. I love it here! I wish I didn't have to go back and learrrn again in September.
Favourite TV show? QI, HIGNFY, Arrested Development, News Radio, Shooting Stars, 15 Storeys High, Peep Show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Frankie Boyle / Ian Hislop / Sean Hughes / Vic Reeves (i can't choose which one to put here. i like too many) 4: David Mitchell 3: Mark Lamarr 2: Paul Merton 1: Alan Davies
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? I am so pathetic that I've tried meeting some and each time I get close, I get so nervous that I run away. I went to the premiere of Angus Thongs and Whatever to meet Alan Davies and I was too scared to say hi to him then, so I waited until the movie let out and the cast walked out, but as soon as Alan came out, I froze and then ran away. My friend was visiting me for a week and I dragged her there. While he was on the red carpet, she screamed out "Alan Davies my friend has a crush on you!" very loudly so that everyone turned and stared out me. Alan was on the other side and he looked over and kind of waved. I guess that was satisfying enough for me. I've been to the comedy store twice because I wanted to meet Paul Merton, but as soon as he walked out both times, I got too nervous and walked away. I'm going again this Sunday. I don't have any hope for my plans actually working this time. I also like American comedians like Amy Poehler, Amy Sedaris, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Mirman, and all the members of Stella. I have met Eugene Mirman and Michael Showalter from Stella and it was a pretty nervous, awkward conversation. I think that if I were drunk, things would go a lot more smoothly. I really just don't know how to approach people. My dad was trying to give me advice on the phone the other day. He said to just walk next to someone and stick out my hand, but I think that once they noticed my hand, I would probably take it away really quickly. The thing is that I'm in London all by myself and I don't know anyone, so that makes it even more difficult for me to try to meet anyone because I don't have that encouragement that I need. I need someone to hold my hand. These people are my heroes and I have difficulty asking a waitress where the toilet is.
I don't tell this to employers here in London when they ask, but the main reason I wanted to come to London for the summer is that I wanted to have sex with a comedian. It's just not working out for me.

What can we call you? Sarah...or Sal if you like :) Where are you from? St. Helens in Lancashire...in the north west of england ;) Favourite TV show? Vic Reeves Big Night Out...and anything Vic & Bob have ever done! ;) Favourite stand up act/DVD? My fave stand up comedian is Sean Hughes, closely followed by Lee Mack. But I also love Bill Baily & Jack Dee...& probably a few others I can't think of at the minute...
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: & Vic again cos I love him, he's the ideal man & the last one is NEVER the least ;) 4: Lee Mack...again, in a kind of weird way... lol 3: Sean Hughes in a sexy, rugged kind of way...lol 2: Bob Mortimer because he was my very first crush & just an adorable little bloke... 1: VIC REEVES!!! God, I swear the man is perfection itself...you can't top him, I'm sorry...
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? Sadly out of the list above, the only one I have met in the flesh is Sean Hughes. I went to see him last year at the liverpool royal court theatre & I swear he is the SWEETEST man you could ever meet...he was talking to me, my sister & my mate for ages afterwards & he was a very, very nice & geniuely friendly man! AND he just hugged me out of the blue, I didn't even need to ask him, he just kinda attacked me hahahaha. ;) It was a fab night & he made it even more perfect by being so sweet. :D Other comedians that I've met are The League of Gentlmen...(got a hug yet again off Mark Gatiss but I had to ask for that one lol). Matt Lucas & David Walliams (Little Britain) & Matt made my life by saying he liked my out-fit & just generally being adorabley nice to me. :) Me & my mate went through a stage of being followed around or INVOLUNTARY STALKED if you will..by Peter Kay (long story lol) Oh & I've fallen over in front of Dylan Moran lol. I think that's about it for my comedy related shananigans...lol oh & if you haven't already guessed by now, I'm a HUGE fan of Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer (have been for aslong as I can remember) & I am actually in love with Vic... ;) & Very pleased to meet you all...*waves*

I met Phill Jupitus yesterday! :D
He's in town for two days for the Arts Festival doing a performance of Whose Line Is It Anyway? with other comedians (Stephen Frost, Ian Coppinger, Steve Steen & Andy Smart). They do it quite often, but I've yet to see it as I never have the money which is also an often occurance. Anyway, this is the first time I've actually seen him so I was rather excited.
My friend and I had ran into two more of our friends on the street of the venue and we were standing chatting when I get poked, "Is that Phill Jupitus?" I turn and see the back of his unmistakable figure. We act 'cool' as we decide to wait for his return from the shop. By cool I of course mean we were all giggling and laughing hysterically at the idea of seeing him again...he returns, we waved a bit obnoxiously across the street at him. He seemed to smile to himself and crossed over, kept walking but briefly sort of said hello & asked us how we were, very friendly and everything. I'd say he was entertained, because the minute he left the giddy laughter returned.
That's all really...I figured someone here might understand the irrational excitement of such a brief encounter XD Yay!
edit: Met Stephen Frost today! :] He was lovely.

What can we call you? Annie Where are you from? Canada (Ontario specifically). It`s not the UK, obviously, but Canada is like the diet version. Favourite TV show? Black Books (saving up for the DVDs right now, but alas, I'm poor), Little Britain, The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, Mock the Week, Darkplace Favourite stand up act/DVD? My favourite right now is Dylan Moran (I've been on a kick lately), but I love Eddie Izzard, Noel Fielding, Julian Barratt, Russell Brand
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Russell Brand - bit of a cliche because, well, he's Russell Brand.. but it doesn't matter 4: Julian Barratt - he's all beardy and masculine 3: Russell Howard - he's just so adorable and blonde 2: Eric Idle - but a young Eric Idle... because I'm horribly shallow 1: Dylan Moran - I've converted Monster and Like, Totally to mp3 and have had them playing nonstop for the past week. Seriously, he makes me swoon. (I mean, just look at this icon! -dies-) </ fangirly squee of death>
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? The whole 'Living in Canada' usually hinders my ability to meet UK comedians. I met Gareth David-Lloyd the other week, but alas, he's not a comedian. (He's still incredibly lovely though) My sister met Russell Brand just recently when he was at Just For Laughs though. Apparently she got me an autograph, whoo!

What can we call you? Please, call me Bubbles. Everybody does!
Where are you from? I'm from Kent, England. Soon to be London.
Favourite TV show? It has to be a tie between QI, HIGNFY & WLIIA
Favourite stand up act/DVD? Favourite stand up act would have to be Lee Evans. Although i do very much like Paul Merton and his collection DVD
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Ian Hislop. Because he is a big bubble of sweetness. 4: The most delightful Stephen Fry! 3: Tony Slattery. The cutest thing since sliced cute. 2: Angus Deayton back when he was TV's Mr. Sex 1: Paul Mmmmmmmmmerton.
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? Yes! The lovely Stephen Fry. I went to see a recording of QI. I would have waited all night to actually get his autograph or talk to him but he hurried away so quickly after the 2.5 hour show. Alan was so funny too! And Stephen only messed up once! I might meet Paul Merton next year at the Edinburgh fringe festival because i am going to be perfoming there with my comedy group. Fingers crossed!

What can we call you? Jen or Jennifer
Where are you from? Gladgow, Scotland
Favourite TV show? I have so many! At the moment it's Mock the Week, though other favourites include Black Books, Family Guy, Monty Python's Flying Circus and QI.
Favourite stand up act/DVD? Oh dear. Again I have so many that I absolutely adore (such as Ed Byrne, Dara O'Briain, Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey), but the stand up DVD I keep going back to time and time again is Eddie Izzard's Glorious.
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list: 1.Ed Byrne 2.Eddie (but only if he dresses in a ladies' outfit!) :D 3.Dara O'Briain. I know that might seem a bit weird, but...there you go. 4.Stephen Fry - so intelligent 5.Alan Davies - cute and funny! Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? There was one near miss. I saw Ed Byrne's solo gig in Glasgow a few months ago and had to leave after he did that gig. My cousin and her friend were staying on for the after-show show, which involved Ed and some other comedians. I unfortunately couldn't go to the second show because I had to get the last train home, but no sooner am I on the train than I get a call from my cousin who was screaming down the phone at me. Ed Byrne had just bought her a drink! FFS! I asked her to compliment him on his show for me and say how much I'd enjoyed it. He said thanks to me over the phone via my cousin, but I was SOOOO annoyed at missing out on meeting him in person! :(

What can we call you? Jordie.
Where are you from? Leicester, UK.
Favourite TV show? Never Mind The Buzzcocks! I also like WLIIA, Mock The Week, The Mighty Boosh & QI.
Favourite stand up act/DVD? Part Troll (Bill Bailey).
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Ryan Stiles (Oh, boo, hiss, an American. But, he is the only one, and I was struggling for #5. His name shall not pass my lips again). 4: Russell Howard. 3: Julian Barratt. 2: Alan Davies. 1: Simon Amstell (I'm think I'm one of the few people left in the world that are still clinging to the hope that he is in fact straight, but in denial, or that I would at least be able to convince him that he'd be far better off being straight and with me. I am smitten. ^^).
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? Simon Amstell, at the end of May. I'm actually quite proud of myself - I wasn't a blubbering wreck and I refrained myself from .. um, having a grope (XD) when he hugged me. Woo! I also waved to Noel Fielding (and he waved back, yay) in Camden a while ago. It didn't look like the right moment to flying tackle him, but he caught me looking staring at him, so I sort of waved pathetically. :D

What can we call you? pallas
Where are you from? london
Favourite TV show (s) - green wing, peep show, spaced, hignfy, the office. then of course there are the classic fawlty towers, father ted, ab fab, monty python
Favourite stand up act/DVD? i haven't seen much standup, but im going to correct that by joining a comedy club over the summer. yay! ive seen jimmy carr live twice and loved it. ive got ricky gervais animals and politics which were great but i was disappointed by fame. and bill bailey is also very funny, surreal and musical. if anyone can reccommend me stand up in particular that would be great!
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list: (in no order)
5: david mitchell. this man just gets more and more attractive with every passing tv panel show 4: julian barratt. especially in 'the pod' with tim hope, which is the best thing hes ever done hands down i tell you! 3: paul merton. the wit. 2: mark heap. when he doesn't have a little scrubby false moustache and a combover this man is ridiculously attractive. actually, make that the entire green wing cast, id do them all 1: sue perkins. i loved her on late lunch and my admiration has recently been revived after the supersizers series where sue had me in stitches every week!
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? i live just a few doors down from bill bailey, so i see him around all the time and occassionally bump into him at the newsagents. he always looks incredibly moody and fierce in a sort of 'dont approach me' kind of way so i have always been too scared to say anything but my mum went up to him in the pub on the corner, pointed out where we lived and he sorted out free tickets for us to see him live on his tinselworm tour.

As a creator of a comedian pic spam community, I feel as if I have found my people.
Introduction
What can we call you? You can call me Amy. Where are you from? Originally from Bristol, I have lived in London these last few years. Favourite TV show? Outside of comedy it's 'The Wire', but seeing as I am on a comedy community, I should also list 'Peep Show', 'Nighty Night' and anything Chris Morris has ever done. Favourite stand up act/DVD? Daniel Kitson, without question. As he does not have a dvd out, I will say my fave stand up dvd would be anything by Tommy Tiernan or Dylan Moran.
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Tim Key. I love the way his comedy makes audiences awkward and unsure at times. He is 100% hotstuffs and I will fight anyone who says otherwise :) 4: Russell Howard. Aw, I used to go see this kid back in the day and it's nice to know he gets even fitter as the years go by. Also, funny as all hell. 3: Peter Cook. Yes I know he is dead but the man was an absolute genuis. And dashing, oh so dashing. 2: Jemaine Clement. His is the face that keeps on giving. I would never get tired of looking at him. 1: Julian Barratt. Predictable (perhaps) but... cliches exist for a reason, heh.
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about I think the best chat with a comedian I have ever had would be when I had a blather with Adam Bloom. He was very funny, natch, but also disarmingly frank about what he thought about his career, his brief forays into television, and other comedians he has encountered along the way. A truly charming, intelligent man. It's not a great funny story, I know, but it's an encounter I treasure :D Other than that I've chatted to various members of the seeming Bristol Comedy Mafia and they are an absolute delight :D
Pleasure to meet all you fine people!

OK, quick question. I'm going to a recording of Edinburgh and Beyond on Wednesday and I know I should get there early to get seats, but I'm not sure exactly how early. I figured people here might have an idea. Doors open 6.30.
Thanks a lot, and as a small token of my gratitude, a picture of Russell Howard, who's going to be hosting the programme and making me squee.

What can we call you? Maddy, or Madz
Where are you from? Canterbury, Kent
Favourite TV show? Whose Line Is It Anway, or HIGNFY
Favourite stand up act/DVD? Not really much of a stand-up fan, but if I had to pick, Harry Hill =D
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Angus Deayton, I don't know what it is about him, I just think he's a sexy beast 4: Stephen Fry, he's gorgeous, clever AND funny! 3: Rory Bremner; just so sooo funny 2: Tony Slattery, I won't start, because I won't stop 1: Paul Merton. All time hero I think
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? Met Ian Hislop on the train about a year or two ago, when coming back from Charing Cross from a day out in London with a friend. He sat next to us, with his son, and I didn't realise it was him until he moved his bag out of the way for a passer by and said 'sorry' and the random passer by shouted 'CHEERS IAN!' XD

What can we call you? Gemma/Gem.
Where are you from? Yorkshire, England.
Favourite TV show? The Simpsons, Monty Python, Blackadder, Peep Show, Mighty Boosh, League of Gentlemen... the list is endless but those are my core beliefs!
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
This has been discussed in detail on my personal LJ but does incorporate non-comedic crushes. And some of the ones I mention in the following list didn't get a mention, but, I still would. The list is subject to change at any time, terms and conditions apply...
5. John Cleese - If it were the 60's/70's... and, indeed, if I was around then! 4. Adrian Edmondson - I had a major thing for him at one point. Not really a fan of non-comedic Ade, but Young Ones/Catflap/Bottom era - yes please! 3. Julian Barratt - Narrow eyes, schmarrow eyes, he'd get it. 2. Reece Shearsmith - I am chuffed that he's from Hull too. 1. David Mitchell - Just everything about him is spot on. Simple as!
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? Sadly not. But seeing as I would probably end up a dribbling idiot and say something entirely stupid, that's probably for the best.

What can we call you? Millie or Mel
Where are you from? Newport, South Wales UK.
Favourite TV show? Black Books
Favourite stand up act/DVD? Lucy Porter
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
5: Jon Richardson - His voice and his hair and his hatred of relationships, yum! 4: Dara O'Briain - Gorgeous voice, doesn't fail to make me laugh. 3: Bill Bailey - Drop dead gorgeous, can play the piano, very funny, what else could I want? 2: Alan Carr - The first man to make me cry with laughter, and he's so loveable. 1: Stephen Fry - amazing man, perfect in every way.
Ever met any of them in the flesh? Or anyone else you'd like to tell us about? I've seen Dara live a couple of weeks ago, Alan & Jon have read out my emails on their radio shows a few times and Jon Richardson spoke to me during his set in Bristol. Not exactly "in the flesh" but I thought they deserved a mention haha.

Jimmy Carr in a room smaller than my living room = ace.
On the 21st April I went to see Jimmy Carr doing a tiny preview gig at the Hen and Chickens in Islington - a 54 seater mini-theatre above a pub. Was a fascinating insight into how he pulls his shows together - rating his jokes and making little notes 'hmm there's something there but it needs work' etc etc. I don't think I can express the joy at him turning to me sitting on the front row and asking 'Was that on one of my DVDs?'( as if I'd know - *grins*). 'Twas totally ace. He signed my copy of The Naked Jape and thanked me for coming - ummm my pleasure !!. Quality, quality evening. Much love to Mr Carr.

Where are you from? Melbourne, Australia (which completely rocks coz Melbourne is the best city in Australia by far.coz we've got the comedy festival (which Sydney wanted to take off us, but they failed so its all still good...sorry Sydney-siders, nothing against you personally, I just like the comedy fest))
Favourite TV show? 1. Mighty Boosh (I feel really unoriginal for saying that as everyone seems to love it, but its loved for good reason) 2. Spicks and Specks (Never Mind the Buzzcocks for all you English) 3. Blackadder (preferably the 4th series) 4. Black Books 5. The Young Ones 6. Ripping Yarns
Your fantasy comedy seduction target list:
1. Russell Brand (completely the sexiest and funniest and most wonderful person who has ever or will ever exist, but it's sad coz barely anyone knows who he is here and its unlikely that he'll ever come here either) 2. Noel Fielding (this neds no justification) 3. Tim Minchin (still trying to work out if he's gorgous or funny looking, either way I love him) 4. Jason Byrne (I fell in love with him while watching him on the Glasshouse (only Ausies will get that, sorry))
