AboutColorado is a place of extensive beauty. Whether beauty is found in one of a thousand vistas or in the petal of a flower, no photo can do justice to actually seeing something for one's self. That being said, there are those of us who, through the use of photography, try and capture that one perfect moment in time so that we can share it with those around us. There is no place quite like Colorado on this earth.
This is a community where the photographers -- amateur and professional alike -- can come to share their perfect moments with an audience. Post only photos/scans of your own creation. This is not a community to link pretty pictures of the state that you find on the internets. Everything should be PG-rated. Photos of nature, urban development, skylines, people, natural disasters, artistic shots, scans of historical photos -- those are what will be allowed here. Share your moments; share Colorado with your peers.
Residents of the state of Colorado are most definitely invited to join. If you like Colorado or are just a fan of photography in general, please feel free to join also. Photographs and/or scans must have been taken inside the state. There will be no tangent photos allowed (the, "Oh, and by the way, I took this picture on vacation in Mexico" kind of stuff). If you have a number of photos to post, I suggest you consider making a couple posts at a time instead of <img src>ing all of them under a cut (because we all know that it takes awhile for a lot of pics to load, especially off of a slow connection), or hyperlinking them. You are encouraged to post information regarding what the photo is of, where it was taken, when it was taken, type of camera and/or film you used. If you don't want to, that's okay, too.
I cannot emphasize enough how important the use of <lj-cut> will be. Please be considerate when posting pictures; not everyone on the internet is on a broadband connection. Either use <lj-cut> or just place a hyperlink to your picture. If you do not use one of these methods, your post will be deleted and you will be asked to repost it correctly. This is a courtesy to all members.
