    General Update
Yeah, I've totally been going a mile a minute.  With SBC training I haven't had time to go on LJ or even the internet much.  Let's get caught up some...

So, started SBC training.  The class was fine.  My trainers were Melanie and Chris.  I loved the class, but I HATE the system.  Like, I get it and it's easy to use, but I hate the darn thing.  Like, it limits us too much, and it keeps crazhing, and it's just a flipping mess.  I don't like it.  In fact, I'm writing a song about how much I don't like it.  I will post soon enough.

I've had a few voluntEAR events.  First one was the Fab Four at teh Starlit Bowl.  It was AWESOME>  They actually did "Elenor Rigby" and "A Day In The Life," like my 2 fave songs.  They did songs that are not in their normal set, which was AMAZING!!  It was also funny because this one group came to ask me where they were sitting, and one of the guys kept going on and on about how this venue reminded him a lot of some "Starbowl" or soemthing like that (he couldn't remember the actual name)  in Nashville.  I was thinking, "Seriously now, seriously?"

Did the Seratoma Fantasy Baseball Camp on 2 days.  I just LOVED it.  Had a completely blast with all the kids.  On the last day we got in tickle wars, and they played keep away with my hat.  LoL!  I love those kids.  I can't wait to go back next year.  I should jsut take a vacation then and project lead that entire week, hehe.

Speaking about project leading, I got my first 2 events to project lead.  I'm project leading the "Buddy Walk" for children with Down Syndrome.  It's Nov 2 at the Angel's Stadium.  I'm SOOO exited.  If anyone wants to join in (which you can if you're with me), let me know and I'll sign you up.  Or if you need more info, also let me know.

The second one is to build some sets in Westminster on Feb 8 (yeah, I know, I giggled like crazy, trust me, hehe).  Again, if you want to participate, let me know.

Also, I hit up a wrestling show.  It was a weird show, it had all sorts of people from all sorts of promotions.  I specifically went because Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian were there.  Daniels had CUrry Man shirts, so Danny bought one and had it autographed.  I took a pic with both of them.  It was also extra cute with Daniels had his kids there.  They are extra little.  The little boy is probably under 2, and the little girl is probably like 3 or 4.  They were both wearing shirts that said, "My daddy is the Fallen Angel", it was extra cute, hehe.  Then, at one point they both go ringside, and the little girl starts yelling, "Get up Daddy!!  Get up!!!  Get him!!!"  It was way too adorable.  After he and Frankie won, he picked up both of them.  It was WAY too cute.  Oh yeah, and when I was taking my pic with Daniels, the little boy was running arround and me like crashed into me, and Daniels was like, "Cameron, be carefull!!"  He was too cute, hehe.

They had some good matched.  That Fankie and Daniels tag team was great.  Also the first one witht the Cutler bros, and of course, the Tj Perkins match was awesome as always.

But then had random ones.  For example, one was 4x4x4x4 tag team lumber jack match.  The lumberjacks included Human Tornado, a "teachers pet" from a previous female wrestler, Chris (yes, and is Marc and Chris), and a jedi, amongst other random lumberjacks.  Yeah, weird match.

Sunday was a pretty fun day.  Juana had to work, for I picked up the kiddies and took them to church.  Afterwards we went to the beach for a fun filled day.  Aya for a day at beach.  We had an absolute blast.  Afterwards we were all beat.  LoL!  Poor kiddies were so exausted the fell alseep in my car on the drive back.

Afterwards, I went to Leah's senior recital.  She sounded absolutely AMAZING!!  I totally enjoyed her recital, it was completely love.  Afterwards, a group of us went to eat dinner at "Legends."  I have never eaten then before, but it was a really cute place.  I want to go back, hehe.  It was great to see Leah before.  She wants to apply at Dsiney.  YAY!!  Hopefully she gets the job and this mean we can hang out more often.

Ok, let's see, waht else.  Let's talk about yesterday.  Thanx to the most awesome DVLC, Danny, Megan, and I got to go to the Halo game for free.  That was a kick butt game, just an awesome comeback from behind thanx to Teuxeira.  WOOOO!  GO HALOS!!!

Before we clinched it though, I was flipping out, just being JP at a ball game, lol.  I got loud and yelled stuff and got psycho.  Yeah, I think I scared most of the DVLC, and others arround me.  I had like 5 years of past ambasadors behind me, including Liz and David, abd yeah, I'm sure I freaked them out.  They were also laughing at my supersticions, lol!  It was a blast though.  It was especially awesome to hang to my Pixie again.  YAY for hanging out with Megan again.  We gotta do this more often girl!

And now, I am at home listening to Jeremy Camp's new song.  I'm seeing him in concert soon, YAY!!

It's hard though, I got a new BSB music, a new Jeremy Camp song, and a brand new Brandon Heath albulm.  I need to analize and enjoy all, and I can't decide which one.  OK, you are forbidden from this at the same time again.  Rush of Fools is comming out with new stuff soon, and then I'm serioulsy screwed, lol!  Oh well, since I jsut got J tonight, it will J right now, but I want to hear everyone, hehe.

Oh, still working on the SWC Monterey review.  That will be posted ASAP.  Until then...

    Fate Bus
    Stranger Than Fiction

It's the nature of all tragedies Harold. The hero dies, but the story lives on forever.

Tragedy or Comedy? Marriage or Death? Hamlet or Midsummer Nights Dream?

When Harold is reading the story of his life, he does so on a BUS. Why a bus? Why not some park bench?

Because life is like that bus. We move about, going to and fro, but we don't choose it, we are just along for the ride. Just like Harold is.

Look, I read it, and I loved it, and there's only way it can end...."

How can you kill a man like that?

The only thing that made this night significant was the morning that it proceeded.

Your parents, parents, made this happen.

I'm cycling between anger and sobbing all the time because I want so badly to get away from all of this but I can't because it's everywhere I turn. I'm losing my mind, fucking losing it and it's all because of this Obama bullshit.

One night, me and Karel (Karel and I for you GN's out there) were walking about, and saw a sign that said "Free Kayaking" and I joked on the dual meanings of free. In the sense it was meant, it was talking about cost. As in, "come here to kayak, and you won't have to pay" but I joked that it must be freed. For it was bound.

Karel, feeling joyful, shouted at the next passing bicyclist "FREE KAYAKING!" and the bike rode off, I would imagine confused.

Anywho, I saw on my roomies bike, "Free Spirit" and I thought of this wonderful distinction.

So I say to you all:

    FREE SPIRIT

    Peace.

    Quit my job, niggaz
    God, I'm tired right now.

I knew I had to quit my job on Thursday when I was speaking with the "CFO" of a company that was in distress. In two years, they've downsized from several hundred employees to a dozen, their "CFO" wasn't sure they would make it through the winter and the outlook was not good. Her company depended heavily on the home construction industry, and we all know that home construction has crashed. In case you didn't know that, now you do. One of the biggest sources of unemployed workers today comes from construction. Try to remember this before I proceed, though: the people running this company are pretty sure that they'll be bankrupt by the end of the year.

Anyway, Mike, my supervisor, took over the call after a bit and started trying to diagnose her firm's banking needs. They prefer to do business with local banks, but this spring, if they're still around, they'll be open to financing from other places. So Mike starts asking her the same questions he asks everyone else. "Do you have a line of credit? Would you like to open one?" I almost fell out of my chair when he asked her this: "Are you interested in any long term investments? Such as bonds blah blah blah?"

Wow! What a fucking idiot! "Oh, boy! We're about to close forever, but why don't I squander what little cash this business has left by locking it up in 30 year corporate bonds! That would be so funny!" I explained that to Billie last night and he didn't get it. If you didn't, well, just believe me when I say that Mike's a fucking dumbfuck for even bothering to ask that question.

I wasn't learning anything at that job, and chances are that sticking around would only make me dumber. Plus, I'd never be able to say anything about it in an interview, because I fucking hated it. Instead of walking to the bus stop on Tuesday morning, I walked into the library and e-mailed my boss, telling him where to mail my checks and that I quit.

I have an interview tomorrow with a private wealth management firm in Woodland Hills. They're a subsidiary of one of the largest universal banks in the United States and the world, and their offices are in a 20 or 25 story building. Apparently, I'll be building portfolios, working with people who have real jobs and doing lots of other real work. I haven't been hired yet, but I think they'll probably like me. I'm really eager to learn, and that's why I ran screaming from my last job. I can't just sit around all day, doing things that have no value to me or anyone else. For a living, that is.

Reasons 9650-9653 why I love Brandon Heath

The following video is HILARIOUS!! His impression of Bob Dylan is awesome. AHAHAHAHA!! Then Elvis with the pelvic thurst, and Michael Jackson, AHAHAHAHHAHAHA!! This man is hilarious. You gotta flipping love him.

Then, on a more serious note, you have him talking about decition making. This was right after he sang "Trust You" (BEST SONG EVER!!) on the day his albulm came out. It's really something I needed to hear, and it's funny that I happened to stumble over it.

ANd, now, last but not least. The music video for "Give Me Your Eyes." DUDE!! It's SOOOO flipping amazing. Aaron Shust was SOOO right, it's amazing. Gosh, it's SOOO good. It bearly was released today, WAY too much love!!

In the song you could totally feel his heart and his passion, and this video just magnifies it. BTW, he looks extra cute in a hat, he should wear soem more often, hehe.

It was funny because when I got Brandon's albulm I had it in the office and was prancing arround with it. John Boulda asked me who that was and I showed it to him and I said, "My husband." He asked, "How many do you have now?" I replied, "Just one, him!" John said, "Wow, he must be something to cause you to relinquish all your other husbands."

Then, I forgot who, I think it was Jack, asked me, "Well, what about John?" He meant John Cena of course. I said, "John is just my video game buddy now. Even so, Brandon still beats him." Jack was like, "Who, he must be something."

He is, Brandon Heath is amazing. Not to mention Phoenix in the summer hot (ROTFL!)

On a completely different note, I got an e-mail responce from Brad Duncan today.  That was the first thing that greeted me this morning.  It made me happy to hear from him.  He says he keeps telling my mom's story.  I am so glad for the amazing opportunity he gave me, that was seriosuly such an amazing experiance.  I need to write up that review before a lot of it is gone.  I was reading my notes on it earlier and was like, "Whoa, almost forgot that."

    Well, I best get going.

Trip to Kentucky (and Nashville in this one) pt. 3

So, finally, TOBYMAC and the Diverse City band hit the stage.
    <--No one cooler than him
<--They are the Diverse City band because their talents are so diverse, lol

Do I even need to say how flipping AMAZING his set was?  Just, AMAZING!!  I was jumping up and down and dancing and having a blast.  The girl Skillet fan giel was laughing at me because I knew every single lyric, every single dance move, and every single ad-lib.  (Like during “Gone” after he sings “She wouldn’t have any of that,” I yelled in perfect sync with him “SHE KICKED HIM TO THE CURB!!”  LoL!)
    <--too flipping cool

Now, this was crazy, Toby and the band were signing, and all of the sudden, the power goes off.  I was too busy dancing and singing along to notice, plus, I could hear fine from the monitors.  Toby, being the cool guy that he is, was all like, “Hold it, hold it, hold it, I think we just lost power.”  The band was so busy concentrating on their performance that they stopped in amazement.  It was during “I’m For You”, so the audience started singing the lyrics.  Well, Toby stopped us, he was like, “No guys, you already sang that, it goes like this: Whatever I gotta be, I’ll be for You.  Whatever You need from me to see You through.  Everyone one of us has stumbled, everybody’s humbled. (he EMPHASIZED this part) We hit the ground and our lives crumble.  Whatever I gotta be I’ll be for You. I’m for You.  See, ha, you need me to lead y’all.”  LoL!  Oh Toby, you’re too much love.

So, the screens behind him were showing some weird letters.  He goes, “Don’t get freaked out by letters on there, it’s just re-programming, that happens when you loose power.”  LoL!  So what does the coolest man on earth do during a power outage?  He flipping FREESTYLES up there.  It was LOVE.  I recorded the trail end of it, but it was LOVE!!  Gosh, even in a power outage this man is flipping amazing.  He really is the coolest man on earth.
    <--no power
    <--The weird letter thingies

So, for the first time ever, I managed to get a tobyMac sec list from Steve Barnum (again), and this was the set list (it reads exactly as I typed it):

    • Ignition
    • Catchafire
    • Boomin
    • Ordinary/J Train
    • Gone (New Intro)
    • Irene
    • I’m For You / Light
    • Yours/Slam
    • Love is/Lose My
    • Diverse City
    • Disco Set
    • Made to Love
    • Burn
    • Freak
    • ?Party?

Ok, even his set list is way kewl, it’s all decorated and stuff, hehe.

Oh, looking at the set list reminds me of a couple of other amazing moment.  During “In the Light”, I pretty much started to cry.  Earlier I had said that you could see every single star in the sky up there.  And what is one of the lyrics to “In the Light”?  “I wanna shine like the stars in the heaven.”  AHHH!!  I remember looking up and seeing every single star and just flipping bawling.

<---reading us scripture before "In the Light"
    <--on his knee worshiping
<--You know this looks flipping amazing!

Oh, and at the end, we indeed have a party, as we all danced to “Let’s get the Party Started.”  GAH!  His whole flipping show was AMAZING!!
    <--Wardrove change for the encore

So, like I said, after the show I asked form a set list and Steve Barnum gave it to me.

So, I went to Toby’s merch table.  I tried to avoid it this whole time because I really shouldn’t buy any more toby stuff, but I wanted the “Bonafied Jesus Freak” shirt, but it seamed that they were tearing down so I took it as a sign that I really shouldn’t buy anything more, lol.

Well, just my luck, I bumped into Kim and Stacey.  We chatted about how amazing Toby was, he always is, no surprise.  Then, a bunch of us fans just started talking, conveniently in front of Toby’s tour bus.  It was hilarious because every single one of us had a Toby ring tone, and we didn’t know whose phone was ringing (it was one of the guys).  Kim and Stacey were waiting for the exiting traffic to die down, so we all just chilled there talking.
    <---Toby's tour bus

So, I don’t know how long we were there, but TOBYMAC comes out.  LoL, Kim was flipping hyperventilating.  Toby was all cool, he was like, “It’s OK, calm down, I’m just an ordinary man.”  So, he was signing autographs for everyone.  I was trying to find my “Alive and Transported” DVD.  I knew it was in my backpack, but I couldn’t find it.  I didn’t stress because I already have several things autographed, I just really wanted a picture.

So, he then starts taking pictures.  Gabe was taking the pictures, and there was a bright light behind them so they moved to the opposite side…and I was on the way.  So, Toby like grabs me by putting his hands on my (non existent) biceps and politely asks me to move, that he wanted to talk to me in a second.  And suddenly, I was moved.  LoL!  I was too much in a daze to know how I even moved, lol!

So, after he takes pix with some people, it was my turn.  So, here’s where it got crazy.  Soemone, probably Kim, yelled at him, “She came all the way from L.A. to see you.”  He looks at me and went, “I remember you.  No, you didn’t come out here just for this.”  I said, “Yes, I did.”  He said, “No you didn’t, you have family out here.”  I replied, “Toby, no I don’t, I swear I came just to see you and Je…”  He finished off my sentence, “Jeremy Camp and The Afetrs, I remember.  You’re crazy girl, but I still think you have family out here.”  I replied, “No, toby, I swear, I’ve never been to KY.  My entire family resides in Mexico, L.A., or San Diego.”  Mexico?” he asked perplexed, and enter my mom’s story again.  So, when I was done toby said, “Whoa, that was deep!!”

Again, I was in a complete daze during all of this, so I don’t even know how we transitioned from this to taking the picture, hehe.

<---FINALLY!!  ANd I only had to go to KY for this, hehe!

So, Kim’s camera was giving her problems, so I told her to take her and Stacey’s pic with my camera and I will e-mail them over, which they did.  I think it was Kim who asked when was Truent going to perform with him.  He replied, “Oh, he would never get on stage, he’s too shy.”  Awww, poor truDog, I badly want to see him sing with Toby.

Well, Toby eventually had to head out, and we all thanked him for everything, and off he went.

We were all so giddy and we talked about how awesome that was, hehe.

We all exchanged our info, and we headed our ways.  Now, this time finding my spot was worse because I had left my flashlight in the cra.  Great!  Eventually, I did find my way.

So, woke up in the morning and went to Praise & Worship.  Steve Barnum was leading it.  It was so great.  Then Steve asked for us to share how God changed us while we were here.  At first people were hesitant to go up, and God was calling me up there, so I went.

So, Steve had us say our name and where we were from.  Now, up to this point everyone kept naming eithey KY or states that were fairly close.  So, of course, as soon as “Downey, CA” left my mouth, everyone gasped, and then they all clapped.  I said Gos showed me his grace and kindness in everyone in attendance.  I said how being nice has gotten me into REAL big trouble 3x within the past year, and I was ready to stop it all, but here God showed me how I shouldn’t let that stop me.  I know there was MUCH more that I learned, but God told me to share that specifically that morning.

When I went back to my seat Steve said, “I know we had a group from Florida here, but I think she just beat you as the farthest.”

So, when Praise & Worship was over, a lot of people came and approached me and we all chatted.  One girl named Rachel gave me $5 because God told her I would need them.  I also met a family that was near where my car was parked.  They invited me with them and fed me and gave me orange juice and other drinks.  Then, we all went on a hike to “Whisper Falls”, it was such a pretty hike.  Then, they were kind enough to lead me to the freeway.  This entire family was way amazing.
    <---hiking
    <---underneath whisper falls

So, the took me a different route than I had come, but it was Ok because they took me though the National Forrest, and it was such an awesome view.  They pointed me in the direction back to Louisville, which would also leave me to Lexington.

I got on the freeway, then looked in my rear-view mirror and happened to catch the reflection of the sign that led to Nashville.  I don’t know why, but I got off the next exit, and headed to Nashville.

In can’t tell you why I went, I can’t tell you what I was even expecting.  You guys know me, if I had known Nashville was even a possibility, I would have researched exactly where I waned to go, printed out maps and description, ect.  But no, not this time, this time I just WENT.

The drive was great, again, so gorgeous.  Halfway there I stopped at a Waffle House.  I’ve wanted to eat at one ever since my first trip to Georgia.  So, I had the yummiest chocolate chip waffles ever, then headed back on my way.

When I crossed the state line into Tennessee, well, I started to flip out.  Right there, as soon as I entered, “Welcome to the Volunteer State.”  Um, hello, “Volunteer State?”  Yeah, is that JP or what?  I was SOOO flipping out.

<--blue skies from the Volunteer State

As soon as I saw the city of Nashville, my eyes started to tear up.  But then it hit me, um, where am I going and what am I doing?  LoL!  I just drove closer to the city, and started to freak because I didn’t know what to do.  I told myself, “Think JP, what’s in Nashville that you could put into you GPS as a starting point!!”  What was the first thing that came to mind?  BELMONT!!  I put it in my GPS, it found it, and off I went.

So, of course, this being JP, I got lost using my GPS.  It was Ok though, because you know where I got lost.  MUSIC ROW!!!  AHHHHHHHHH!!!  I got lost and ended up on Music Ct.  AHHHHHH!!  The first building I saw was EMI, and I took a picture of it.  I saw Sesac, Ocean Way, GMA, GAC, I saw flipping everything.  I also saw LYRIC STREET!!  AHHH!!  I was the nerd driving slow taking pictures of all these signs and building, lol.  I’m surprised I didn’t get arrested for this, lol.
    <---EMI
    <---LyricStreet
<--Maybe one day I can park here, hehe
<---So made me flip when I saw this
<---I stalk their web-site, there's where I found out that Dna Muckala wrote Satelite, hehe.
<---It's Ocean Way!!!  Yeah, that's when my heart stopped, lol!
    <--CMA!
    <--Sony music, way kewl
<---Where music and music meet. *sigh*

(and this was when my camera died)

After all of that, I did find Belmont, and fell in love.  It was crazy, because both Baylor and music row looked so incredibly familiar, and very much at home.

I found a B of A and was able to make the much needed deposit.  Then, JP got lost again and ended up at some random Wal-Mart, lol!

Well, eventually I found Downtown Nashville, which was COMPLETE LOVE!!  Every other building had love music coming from it.  I went into a Dueling Piano bar, a Honky Talk bar, 5 other random bars that had music playing.  I didn’t drink, or even ate, I just listened to music.  I also bough a mess load of souvenirs.  I stopped at an ice cream parlor, where I helped this one musician with some music he was working on (no flipping joke) as I enjoyed some mint ice cream and a cherry soda.

It was getting late, and I knew I should be heading back to Louisville.  The thought of spending the night in Nashville was tempting, but like faith, I got a phone call.  Ty asked where I was and I said Nashville, which made him crack up.  He asked if I was coming back that night and if I wanted to have dinner with him and his fam.  I accepted and drove right over.  I’m glad that I didn’t spend the night in Nashville because there was construction on the freeway which slowed everything way down, which made wonder if I had missed my flight had I stayed.

But, here was funny, I put on some Josh Gracin as I was leaving, and got SOOO mad.  Listening to Josh when I wanted to leave Nashville was NOT a good idea, LOL!  Then, I don’t know what I was thinking, but I put on Brandon Heath’s CD.  I usually have my CD player on random, this was no exception.  So, what was the first lyric that came out, “I was born in Tennessee…”  AHHHHHHHH!!!!  Not the brightest idea when wanting to leave the city. (Reminder that Brandon Heath was born and raised in Nashville)

Seriously, dude, I felt much at home in Nashville.  I can’t explain it, but everything felt so familiar.  God is SOOOOO calling me there, it’s not even funny.  I need to get my butt over there NOW!!!

I found my way to Ty’s house, met everyone, had an amazing Southern dinner, and spent the night.

I woke up bright an early the next morning, said goodbye, turned in my car, and went to wait for my flight.  “Give Me Your Eyes” was all I could hear in my head at the time, hehe.  I went to Starbucks and got a water and a bagel, finally finding use for the Starbucks gift card I won at work.

On the plane I read “New Moon.”  I changed planes in Midway, where I read more of “New Moon” and also slept.  Had a stop in Phoenix where I called my mom to remind her to pick me up, and then went home.

    *sigh*

And there was my amazing trip to Kentucky and Nashville.  Check out my My Space for more pix.

Gosh, this was long, but I didn’t want to forget a single minute of this amazing journey!!

    Trip to Kentucky pt. 2

So, woke up Saturday.  I gathered up my stuff, went to the car to get clothes, and went and showered.  Today I was wearing my “Made to Love” tobyMac shirt, with capris and my ultra hot tobyMac hat.  I grabbed my big water jug, some snacks, my book, blanket, and headed off to the festival.

I quickly ran to the merch to see if The Afters had set up, but not yet.  So, I went to get a spot.  I was upset that my perfect spot from the night before was taken.  I put myself as close as possible to that spot, hoping that someone was there for an early act, and leave so I could take it.

Steve Barnum came back, led us in prayer, some worship songs, and let day two of the festival begin.  The first band was Flatfoot 56.  People started moshing for them, but the festival people made them stop, so they did a “circle pit.”  They were kewl.  I mean, they had a guy wearing a kilt playing the bagpipe.  Their musical style resembled Bad religion, but of course, with Christian ideals.  I knew that Danny would love them.  They sang some Greek style songs, some Irish style songs, yeah, they were just awesome, lol.
<---see the bagpipe played in the kilt?  hehe!

I was happy because the girl in my spot did leave, and I soon had my spot, hehe.

After Edmund was the next band.  I have adored them since I saw them at SWC Del Mar.  They are so out there, you gotta love them.  From the tiny drum set, to the TV set, to the kewl synths they use, they are just way too much love.  The lead guy (don’t remember his name) was telling his story about the girl Laura who used to cut herself, and God spoke to him about it, and he confronted her and prayed for her, and the girl came later and gave the him all her blades.  He was saying how, “She loves Jesus, and she found a dude who loves Jesus, and they’re getting married and are going to have babies who love Jesus, it’s all about loving Jesus.”  Well, someone in the audience yelled, “She’s right here!!”  He looked towards that direction and was like, “She’s here, OH MY, LAURA!!  She’s here; my heart is racing a mile a minute.”  It was really an amazing moment.

    <---tiny drum set owns

Oh yeah, and I also loved the moment when the lead singer (gosh, I need to learn his name), went out to the audience and played the synth from there.  It was WAY flipping rad.

So, they broke out for first seminar break.  I just stayed in my spot because I didn’t want to loose my spot.  I started talking to the guys next to me.  They were two amazing guys.  They were brothers, Tyler who was 21, and Brendon who was 19.  They had a middle brother who did not come.  We talked about EVERYTHING for the rest of the evening.  They were both new The Afters fans.  Let’s see if I can remember everything we talked about….

So, again, they went into shock when they found out I was from L.A.  They asked if I flew into Louisville, and I said yes.  They were actually from Louisville.  It was funny because I told then how small the airport was, that you didn’t have to take a shuttle 3 miles away to get your car, that it was right there.  Tyler was like, “What were you expecting coming into this small city?”  I replied, “I don’t know.”

I told them the story about how I wound up deciding to come to Newsong.

Me: So, then I saw where it was and I was like, “Kentucky!!??!!??  Oh no!!”

Tyler: Yeah, they have no teeth in Kentucky

Me: I WAS NOT THINKING THAT!!  I was just thinking of how far it is.

LoL, these guys were seriously great.

We also talked about how pretty Kentucky was.  Also, about what can be found in L.A. and what can be found in KY.  How I’ve never seen real snow, just manmade snow and the snoap at Disneyland.  They always wanted to try In ‘n Out, and I told them how animal fries were LOVE!!  Then of course they laughed at the fact that I said it was love.  They were totally making fun, in a sweet way, of the way I spoke, lol.

We talked about all the types of music we liked.  Brendon liked Skillet, but he LOVED Fireflight.  They actually went to “Nigh of Joy” last year and I told them how if not for my parking ticket I would have been there this year.  I showed them pic on my phone, and we talked about the recent earthquake.  Of course we exchanged info, and I told them they always had a place to stay if they headed out to L.A., as well and free D-land tix, hehe.

Again, we talked for the rest of the afternoon, and it would be impossible for me to list everything we talked about.  These were 2 great guys, and I’m seriously missing them.

But, back to the concert.  During the first seminar break, The Afters came out to do sound check.  It was funny because I was talking to the guys of how much I loved The Afters when Josh fist came, I stopped mid sentence and yelled, “JOSH!!!”  He turned to look at me and waved and I yelled, “JOSH!!  I love you guys.  I came from L.A. to see you!!!”  Josh opened his mouth in amazement and continued to sound check.  The guys and I talked about our fave The Afters songs.  I took a couple of pix during sound check and Josh posed and smiled at me.

Then Fireflight came up for sound check.  Donna was looking way cool as always.  I love how the has the purple bracelet, purple mic stand, and purple mic cable, hehe.  After sound check he ran to take a pic with her.

SO, back from break.  Firelight went first, and Brendon sang to every single song.  They performed great.  Oh, and Gabe and toby came out to watch Fireflight, and duh, I was flipping out, lol!
    <---Fireflight on stage.

Then it was time for The Afters.  They were SOOOO flipping amazing.  They did “Never Going Back to OK” and “My Space Girl” back to back, which made me extra giddy.  Oh, and before “My Space Girl” Josh said how this story started in California and I yelled, “GO IN ‘N OUT!!!” and he laughed and smiled at me.  Brendon and I were jumping up and down and singing along to every single song.
    <---Josh
    <---Marc
    <---Brad
    <---Matt

Their set list went as follows:

    • Beautiful Words
    • Until The World
    • Never Going Back to Ok
    • MySpace Girl
    • You
    • Ocean Wide
    • Tonight
    • RMA
    • Beautiful Love

Now, let’s elaborate.  Now, as we all know, “Never Going Back to OK” is my angry song.  When I am angry, I listen to it, and I become un-angry.  LoL!  It just always puts me in a good mood no matter what.  LOVE that song.  Now, “You” is very special to me, more so now than ever.  The lyrics always make me feel absolutely amazing, specifically “You’re my best friend, You’re my true love…”  As we all know, my best friend, for whatever reason that is still unknown to me, decided to stop being my friend completely.  Friends I get close to decide to leave me, and I have considered myself friendless at times, without having a “best” friend.  So, the fact that God is my best friend, it just soothes me.  Do I even have to explain the “true love” part of the lyrics?  Yeah, didn’t think so.  Again, it soothes me because God is my true love.  He’s in my heart, in my soul, He is my heaven, my home, my best friend, my true love, my treasure, He’s my God.  *sigh*  Love those lyrics.

Then, we all know why I love Ocean Wide.  My fave authors wrote that, which duh are all The Afters guys, Brandon heath, and Dan Muckala.  It meant a lot listening to it.
<---LOVE this pic, he's SOOO high, hehe!

Yeah, the guys did amazing.  After their set it was the break for the second seminar.  I was yelling at Josh if I could have his guitar pic or the set list.  Well, he grabbed both for me and told him to meet him on the side stage.

First, I went to their merch table to pick up a shirt for Danny, and a shirt for myself.    I got Danny this kewl black one that had like a satellite and a radio, it was pretty sweet.  I got myself one that the 4 guys as their cartoon self from the “MySpace Girl” video.  It’s really rad.

So, then I went over to the side stage to talk to Josh.  He was talking to someone so I just stood next to him, but when he saw me he stopped talking to the other guy and turned around and embraced me.  “JANET!! SO NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!  THANKS FOR COMING OUT HERE TO SEE US!!”  LoL!  That was unexpected.  He said that he remembered me from the Crystal Cathedral, the girl whose mom was sponsored.  I replied that indeed was me.  He then told me that he tells that story all the time,  He said he really enjoyed playing at the Crystal Cathedral.  We talked about the Kentucky blue skies, and hos first trip out to LA it was nice and clear and he said, “It’s not that bad.”  Then, he read the paper that it had just rained and you could actually see the mountains because it was so clear.  He said the guys were recently in L.A., but only doing promotional stuff and not a concert.  He asked if I still worked at Disney, and he said he’s never been.  I said I could totally sign them in, and I gave him all my info.  Then, sadly he got taken away to the signing.

Well, then I went to get in line myself.  I was talking with a girl named Rebecca, who reminded me a lot of Kendra from FPC Downey.  I was also talking to 2 little girls, one who looked like the older version of my cousin Sofia, hehe.

Ok, this was extra cute, After Edmund was in line to meet The Afters.  I thought it was so cute I took some pix of it.  The lead singer (I really need to look up his name) was all like, “I love you guys, I love you’re guitars, would you please sign my shirt.”  It was quite hilarious.  Then, he was for reals, he talked about how Laura was here today, and they just started chatting as friends, hehe.

Well, as I close to the front of the line, one of the Newsong security guys asked me if I was tired yet, or that I was bussy, oh, he asked me something, I can’t remember what, but I remember not understanding what he meant.  When I asked him to clarify he said, “You’ve been in the front row both days!!”  I replied, “Oh yes, I didn’t come this far not to be in the front row.”  He asked where I was from, of course I said L.A.  First he said, "L.A. Kentucky, right?"  I looked at him perplexed and then he said, "Just kidding, you mean California, right?  There's no L.A. in Kentucky."  I started laughing and replied, "Yes, from California.  You know, you had me going there for a second.  I was thinking, 'Wow, didn't know they had an L.A. in Kentucky."  A lot of people overheard that conversation and came to ask me if I was for reals. LoL, I truly was.  This one lady said, "I believe her, you can hear it.  She speaks differently."  LoL!

Well, my turn to go up, and I had both their CDs for them to sign because last time we didn’t take any of our CDs, and I wanted to make sure they signed something for Danny.  The guy was like, “Anything for the girl from L.A.

So, I went up to the table, and Marc was the first one up.  He introduced himself and I did as well.  The security guard came in and said, “She’s here all the way from L.A. for you.”  Marc looks at me and goes, “That’s right, you’re mom was sponsored, right?”  I replied yes.  Then someone asked about Disneyland, I want to say that it was Brad.  I said that I still worked there (how do they remember these things is what I want to know, lol!)  Then I believe it was Brad who asked about getting hooked up and I said, “Josh has my info, next time you’re in town, give me a call, you’re in!!”  LoL!  So, I believe it was Matt who then asked why I came all the way out here, and I replied because they are ignoring L.A.  They were like, “No, no were not, we’re not….Ok we are.”  Josh replied, “It’s too expensive to get out there due to gas prices.”  Then Matt was saying how they built a new bus that runs on grass, so they can get out to Cali more often.  Then Josh asked, “What about when we’re in the desert?”  To that Matt replied, “Then we have to buy gas.”  LoL!  It was great.

Well, I said bye to the guys, reminding them that they call me anytime for Disney tix.  Then, I went to go buy some more water bottles.  I bought them not just for me, but for Brendon and Tyler too.

So, went back to our seats.  None of the guys were there, just my blanket, but everyone was respectful and left my stuff there.  So, we waited while the second seminars ended.  Then it was dinner.  A lot of the people around me kept inviting me to accompany their churches to have dinner.  I swear everyone was so sweet.

So, we saw Skillet do sound check, as well as the Diverse City band.  Meanwhile, Brendon, Tyler, and I talked about everything, hehe.  It was funny because it was hot and everyone was getting anxious for Skillet, so they started splashing water around.  Now, Tyler was really tall, and he was behind me, so he kept getting wet.  He was like, “I always get wet, it’s like they’re aiming at me.”  I replied, “It’s because you’re so tall, that’s why!”  LoL!

So, finally, it was Skillet’s turn to hit the stage.  They were rocking it as always.  Some people started crown surfing, and they put an end to that pronto.  I had a blast jumping and singing along.  It was great.  John said some funny stuff.  Of course there is the classic line, “Hi, we’re Skillet…we’re named after a frying pan…sorry!”  LoL!  My favorite line was, “Even though I’m only 22 years old I grew up in the 80s.”  Oh, you should have seen me, I was CRACKING UP!!  LoL!  I LOVE “The Last Night”.  That song really speaks to me and I’m always singing it.  Again, had a blast with Skillet.
    <---John owns you, yeah, you!

After Skillet was sad times because I knew that was when I had to say goodbye to Brendon and Tyler.  They were mainly there for Skillet, so right after them they had to trot back to Louisville because they had work the next day. (Louisville was about 2 hours from Leitchfield and the road was very windy, you did not want to be on that at night).   We hugged and promised to keep in touch, and they wished me a safe trip home.  With that, off they went.  I regret now not taking a pic together, those guys were awesome!

Well, after Skillet, Mike Williams hit the stage, and had me rolling again.  He was just too hilarious.  His message really spoke to me and a lot of others.  He told the story about when Peter stepped out of the boat to Jesus on faith.  He encouraged all of us to step out of the boat, out of comfort zone, and go out there.  He also said hoe we should be a Christian everywhere, and be a change.  Again, he REALLY spoke to me.  I need to step out of the boat for Jesus; He's been calling me towards that.  So powerfull!!
    <---Mike Williams cracking us up

So, after Mike Williams, it was that anxious wait for Mr. tobyMAC to his the stage.  I talked with people around me.  Moe invites everywhere; just everyone was being so flipping nice.  The girl next to me loved Skillet, and she loved John.  She said how John recognized her from her myspace because she sent them a letter about how their songs helped her out, I thought that was pretty kewl, hehe.

    Trip to Kentucky pt.1

Well, I know this is weird, but I’m going to write about Kentucky/Nashville first since that happened most recently and I don’t want to forget a single second of that trip.  I have my notes (of course, JP has notes, right, lol) on SWC Monterey, so I should be OK with writing that up, hehe.  Alright, so let’s get started…

Thursday morning I woke up bright and early to pack and such.  I had left the Twilight books at work, so I drove to work to pick them up and to say goodbye to Juana.  I promised to let her know that I landed OK.  Then I went to the store and bought a ton of snacks.

SO, I got back and finished packing.  I didn’t pack much because I knew I was going to buy a ton of shirts there that I would wear.  I was waiting for mom to take me to the airport.  Now, she said she called Lucy to help her drive because she would get lost in LAX.  However, I wanted to leave my house by 1115 and Lucy arrived around 1200, and of course mom had to take for ever to leave the house.  She always does that, UGH!  I was to rush to the airport, then I said bye to mom, and rushed inside to check my luggage.  Yeah, it was like around 1230 or so.  Mind you, my plane left at 1305.  Yeah, I totally checked in my luggage late.

After I got through security I went to the store and bought a bottle of water because I always get SOO thirsty when I fly.  I got on the plane with a window seat (YAY), and took off.

Had a layover in Vegas.  It was kinda cool when we landed because you could see the strip.  I saw Mandalay Bay and got happy from the memories that place holds for me.  Yup, that was the place where I made BSB cry.  Again, it’s not the fact that I made them cry that’s special; it’s the fact that they cared enough to cry that’s what gets to me.  *sigh*

Anyways, enough reminiscing and back to the story…

Well, as we were landing we saw lightning in the background.  Everyone on the plane went “OOOOHH!!”  It was kinda freaky.  It was past the strip, but being that close, knew something wasn’t right.

You know, being from L.A., thunder storms are just weird to me.  I think we’ve had 3 my entire life, and they are just to weird to me.  How can it be supper hot one second, then have rain and thunder the next.  I know the rest of the states get it, but not this L.A. girl, lol.

Anyways, we landed and got off the plane.  As soon as I did I started CRACKING up, there are flipping slot machines in the airport.  I texted Danny a picture and he laughed too.  He asked me how much money I had lost already, lol.

I grabbed some food and headed to wait for my layover.  Of course, because of the storm we had to wait until lightning passed more than 3 miles away, so had a bit to wait.  This whole entire time I was singing Toby’s song, “I’m on flight 92 stuck on the runway waiting for the storm to pass before we take.”  LoL!  I’m a nerd, I know.  Well, as I waited I read more of Twilight.  I think we only delayed just over an hour, and the sun came up again.  See?  How weird is that?  *shrug*

SO, got my stuff and got on the plane.  This time it was cool because I was on the window, and a guy was on the isle, and no one in between.  This meant I had the luxury to put my legs up, hehe.  I read more of Twilight, finished it, started New Moon, and even took a nap.  Had a quick stop in Midway, then about 45 minutes later landed in Louisville at about 0045 or so.

I went down to pick up my luggage, and only 1 was there.  Not even the big one with my clothes and sleeping bag, but the small one with just my hair straitener, makeup, hats, snacks, and all the extra room for souvenirs (I learned the hard way you always bring a half empty suitcase for souvenirs, lol).  So, I went to the baggage claim, and the lady said my luggage would probably not arrive until 1530 the next day.  Great, I had planned to leave towards Leitchfield at 1000.  Well, so I finished filing my report, and called the hotel to pick me up.  The nicest lady came to pick me up.  This is what started the, “You came from L.A. just for a music festival?” fiasco, lol.

So, got to the hotel, checked in, called mom to let her now I landed safely, and went strait to bed, in my clothes.  Yeah, not good.  I think it was close to 0200 by the time I went to bed.

Friday morning I woke up.  I wanted to catch their breakfast, but the time change and all wasn’t good to me, so I slept in until about 0945 or so.  I showered, put on the same darn clothes, straitened my hair, and checked out.
