    Adellson Essay
Got another essay-the reason I have so many of these is because I'm applying for scholarships, haha. I don't know how good of a job I did, because I didn't really use an essay format... More input would be awesome!

    Essays..
I was wondering how much time is needed to complete a regular UC application/essay. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? How do I capture the attention of my reader? What should I write for the "open-ended" question? Should I use my essay to um.. explain any bad grades or is that a no-no because I should write about something that they don't know about? ANY advice is welcome, thanks.

    Help?

If anyone gets the chance, I messed up the due date on one my essays, and it's due later tonight instead of next weekend like I intially believed. So, needless to say I just had to throw together an essay and need to know how much and in how many ways it sucks. If anyone gets the chance, could you please pop over to my journal and take a look. I know its the weekend, but I would love you forever.

For admission to the University of Michigan Honors program:

    4. Tell us about the question or problem – whether political, social, ethical, religious or scientific – that has most troubled or engaged you within the past year, and explain why. We’re not asking here for an argument in support of a particular position, but rather an exploration of the complexity of an issue that illustrate the difficulty you’ve faced in coming down firmly on either side. 750-1000 words.

I wrote about Capital Punishment. I need an editor, please please? 954 words. Leave your emails, comments screened.

Hi, there. I have to submit another statement for UC Berkeley in a couple of weeks, and I've finally managed to force something out. It definitely has a lot of problems that I'd like to work on right at this moment, but it's about four o'clock in the morning and I want to go to bed. I'm sure you guys, should you choose to read this, will see a lot of the same things I did even at this hour. But you might come up with some great ideas that never would have occured to me otherwise!

    So thanks in advance.

What makes you unique compared to other undergraduate
applicants and how do you see those unique assets adding value to the Haas
Community, both during your time at Haas and later during your professional
    career?

    comments and criticism appreciated
I've been revising my essay for a while now and am pretty much ready to finish things up. Would anyone be willing to help me fix up a few things? It's about 300 words. Some sentences in particular just need a little work, as they don't quite sound right, and I could definitely use any suggestions regarding more interesting language; I write really casually and my diction is fairly unimpressive. Totally willing to read and comment on anyone else's in return. Comment or email me (pianorockkid@yahoo.com) or IM me (pianorockkid). Thanks!

    Essays
Is anyone interested in proof-reading two essays?

I have a priority application due the first, and so I'd appreciate it if someone would mind doing a final read-over of my essays

Does anyone have any ideas about how to write about how a traumatic home during high school affected grades without sounding whiny or woe-is-me?

I'm in the middle of writing this essay, but I don't want it to sound like that, because I'm not whiny or bitter about it, but my home life empirically DID affect my grades in high school.

Or, has anyone else written an essay like this who would care to swap for editing or opinions?
