| Cale and I went to Salmon Arm for the weekend to have dinner at his grandparents house in Vernon for his mom and brother's birthdays. (September 23 and 27th, respectively.) It was tons of fun and it's always nice to get out of the city. Plus we always find ways to make the 5 hour drive tons of fun. OBVIOUSLY! :)
It was really great getting to meet Cale's grandpa and his wife, although I feel bad because I get to take his family in bits and pieces, and come the summer he'll meet mine all at once. It's a little overwhelming sometimes, I think, but he's a trooper and I know they'll all get along. :)
I'm super excited for the summer and can't stop thinking about all of the plans I have coming up. To disperse it a little I'm also excited for Thanksgiving, Halloween, My parents' birthdays in november, then I'll finally be finished school and my birthday will come right in the middle of the exam period, and once I've finished all six of them it's home free until January!!!! With only my sister's birthday, Christmas, and New Year's in between! Then it's back to school and taking new classes is always exciting, especially since I'll only have 4 instead of 6! YAY! Ha. And then of course my brother's birthday is in February, Tamara's birthday in March, Cale's birthday in April, Cam's birthday in May, and then finally June will be here and I'll be finished semester 2!!!! (For the record you guys, your birthdays are hilarious. March 5th, April 5th, and May 5th.)
FINALLY, my summer semester will start which is my last one for that school year (which will actually start in May, not June...and should be finished by the end of June I think/hope.) With two weddings to attend and a trip to see the family in Saskatchewan out of the way it'll be time to spend the rest of the summer in EUROPE!!!
Also, I applied at my school bookstore on Friday, so maybe something will come out of that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They need a receiver and since I already have bookstore experience it's a foot in the door, apparently. So...yeah...we'll see. It would be nice to work closer to school, and what beats working right on campus? Plus the pay raise wouldn't hurt.
But we'll see. I don't want to get too hopeful just in case things don't turn out. I'm happy at Chapters. No worries.
As for the present! I have a short essay to spit out, a presentation to prepare for, and a test tomorrow that I have to do some reading for. PLUS I promised Cale sushi when he gets home, so I have to get out of the house and actually do something besides spending 5 hours in car, and then spending several more hours lying around doing nothing but recuperating from the car ride.
I'm going to go get that sushi, which sounds so delicious I can barely even finish typing this, settle in for the episode of top model i missed on wednesday, and then get on that homework. YAY!
things to look forward to tomorrow:
- going to the comic shop with cam - coffee with tamara if she's free? - getting my test over and done with
peace.

| 01) Are you currently in a serious relationship? Seems to be that way. :) Thank goodness! 02) What was your dream growing up? I had a lot of dreams. I was going to be a firefighter, police officer, ballerina, gymnast, novelist, video game designer and librarian. I'm really glad I narrowed it down. :) 03) What talent do you wish you had? I wish I were good at math. I'm not even kidding. Trying to do math is like trying to beat my head against a brick wall. I can do it, it just might take me the rest of my life. 04) If I bought you a drink what would it be? Rum and coke, or rum and orange juice. I'm simple, and I like simple things. Nothing too fancy. I take shots of whiskey and can probably drink your boyfriend under the table. HOO-AH! 05) Favorite vegetable? LOTS! But my absolutely favorite is probably celery. You can use it for everything!!!! 06) What was the last book you read? I had to read The Commitments by Roddy Doyle for school, and now I'm reading The Importance of Music for Girls by Lavinia Greenlaw. It's alright, but a little too pretentious for me. Sure, sure I get it. You're a social outcast and music was the only thing in your life that you can relate to. Story of my life, right? Sorry...I'm getting too jaded to keep reading assigned material. To counter-balance it I've also been reading a lot of graphic novels. I'm working on Grant Morrison's "Batman and Son" as we speak!!!! 07) What zodiac sign are you? Sagittarius. And except for all of the stuff about how you can't tie me down with a significant other, it's pretty much entirely accurate. 08) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where. One tattoo, but I'm planning on getting another one sometime in October. Christie's going to come with me. Right Christie?!?!?! 09) Worst Habit? Sometimes I interrupt (I'm sorry!!!), sometimes I make faces if I think what you're saying is too close-minded for my liking (sometimes I'm too judgmental), sometimes I can be really tactless without meaning to be (although I think that's more a personality trait than a habit), sometimes I bite my nails, and sometimes I procrastinate. Okay...I always procrastinate. 10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride? I don't drive...but I would offer to walk with any one of you. 11) What is your favorite sport? My favorite to play is either baseball or soccer. My favorites to watch are soccer, the CFL, tennis and some olympic events like gymnastics or figure skating. 12) Do you have a Pessimistic or Optimistic attitude? definitely optimistic. i think i make people sick sometimes. 13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me? if i were stuck in an elevator with anyone, i'd either try to find a way to go all james bond-y and get us out of it, or i'd make up fun games we could play. 14) Worst thing to ever happen to you? bad things happen to everyone, i just try to learn from them and move on 15) Tell me one weird fact about you. there are a lot of weird facts about me. i have to put ginger on every piece of sushi i've ordered before i will even start eating them. i hate sleeping alone and if i have to i build weird blanket forts so that it doesn't FEEL like i'm sleeping alone. my favorite color is orange. i would rather hang out with 3 year olds than people my own age. i don't consider myself a grown up and probably never will, regardless as to how much responsibility i have. i draw a lot in secret. 16) Do you have any pets? yes! xiu xiu the cat and katie the dog. 17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly? if i know you really well i would be extremely pleasantly surprised that you got over your griping and actually made it out to surrey. if i didn't know you that well i would wonder how you knew where i lived and then i would wonder what exactly it is that you want. i'd invite you in and feed you either way. 18) What was your first impression of me? haha. my first impressions of people are always/usually good. i try to find one thing about everyone i meet that would make me want to see them or talk to them again. so chances are i did that to you! as for what the good things were, well, you'd have to ask me individually. 19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary? i am indifferent to clowns. i only envy them because they are in the circus and i am not. 20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be? i would change a lot of things about how i look. i would be shorter and thinner. i'd have brown eyes instead of blue. my face would be wider and smaller and i'd have a ski slope nose and thick dark eyelashes. still, it's all about confidence and playing with the hand you've been dealt. i can't be shorter, but by golly, i sure can have impressive biceps. ha. i'm making the most of it. 21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience? depends on the crime. i'm a pretty good team-mate. 22) What color eyes do you have? blue-green 23) Ever been arrested? nope. 24) Bottle or can soda? bottle. i feel much cooler and don't have to make that slurping noise that comes along with drinking out of a can. 25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it? pay off part of my student loan 27) What's your favorite place to hang out at? home...or someone else's home. anywhere close to my own house unless i have nothing to do the next day. anywhere with my pals. 28) Do you believe in ghosts? yes!!!! i'm afraid of them. 29) Favorite thing to do in your spare time? anything but my homework. ha. watching movies, going for walks, supporting causes, working out, running, playing with my cat/dog, bumming around on the internet, reading comic books, trolling facebook. 30) Do you swear a lot? not a lot, mostly just when i think it'll have the most impact. 31) Biggest pet peeve? people who chew with their mouths open, being interrupted (hypocritical of me, i know), open cupboard doors, when i know someone has potential for something and feel that they're wasting it when it would be so easy for them to just apply themselves! 32) In one word, how would you describe yourself? loyal 33) Do you believe/appreciate romance? i definitely like the idea of romance. but i think everyone's idea of it is different. mine is more "princess bride" than "the notebook". i don't realistically believe that that kind of romance is "real", but i definitely like to daydream about it. 34) Favourite and least favourite food? Favorite: spaghetti. and i suffer for it. Least Favorite: spicy food or olives. blech! 35) Do you believe in God? i believe in something...i'm just not sure what it is yet. i believe that other people believe in God. | |
