Nom nom nom, I love being in Bateman's Bay. Rockwiz just finished, so now Mum's watching the football while I ignore it and struggle along on 33.6 kbps dialup. It's not so bad; I'm running a dialup accelerator which works pretty well, now I've actually got around to coordinating it for Firefox. I have Pidgin 2.5.1 downloading, which according to Firefox will take about an hour to complete- being without broadband is bordering on painful, but I'm about to put on some Dexter so the time should go fairly quickly. I have a miniature picspam a-brewin', which contains no pictures of myself whatsoever! Does three pictures count as a picspam? Whatever.
Today I slept until 1:30, which was awesome, and then had breakfast, which was also good. I did some more knitting. I'm about a third of the way through making a hat with ears- one of these- in Patons Powder Puff, in ice blue (25) for Leo, who requested one. I love knitting for people! At some point I may put up a post offering to make hats for people. PERHAPS.
In the afternoon, Mum came home from shopping and took me out on my first ever driving lesson. NERVEWRACKING. Because I am so terrified of driving it is difficult to explain in words, I'd taken a couple of lessons at the NRMA Driving Simulator last year, so I wasn't coming into it completely blind. We went out to the back ends of one of the new suburbs behind Sunshine Bay, to one of the back streets with nothing on it, and did some gentle stuff, going up and down. Now I can drive very, very slowly forwards and very, very slowly backwards. I can also turn a corner, but only going forwards. I didn't crash into anything, kill anyone, or have a massive freakout. Well done me.
Now there is an excellent TV show on, and I am enjoying the internet. Good times. |

This has been an exciting night.
First I basically became a booker for bands in the stretch of about half an hour. I found out that Punk Rock and Roll Club needed people to contact bands as soon as possible.... so I did. And they actually responded!Final Fantasy contacted me and said they were interested, then Alela Diane, then Steve Goldberg on facebook (ahahhaa), and then finally one of the actual MEMBERS of Tullycraft!!!!!! Fucking insane. I was freaking out.
So sadly I had to tell Tullycraft we couldn't afford them, but whatever. This is SO MUCH FUN!
Also, earlier today I met Jeremy at WBRS and went over stuff I can do for the music department. I'm starting to see that my life here will basically be me doing stuff with radio and bands, and in my spare time you know, I might do some work. It's awesome. Hopefully I will be Genre Coordinator for indie pop. FUCK YES. I am so happy. Also, FREE TICKETS to shows, and hopefully getting into that Noah and the Whale show! Aaaaahhhhhhhh.
AND I'VE ONLY BEEN HERE TWO WEEKS.
Anyway, beyond the good stuff.... bad stuff. My roommate is in the hospital for a severe asthma attack. Not good at all.... sleeping alone for the first time since I've got here. It's weird.

The Quilt is pretty awesome, dudes! I say this as someone who is packed and ready to go down to Bateman's Bay (which is what I am doing later today), has just eaten some delicious apple, sultana and date porridge and is now drinking some Flying Power (the Aldi version of V, pretty much, which is why Mum and I refer to it as Flying V.) More comments on this album when I have more time.
Also, I STILL SMELL GOOD. I am so sold on this stuff, my friends. Sold.

Oh jeez. They just posted the new NaNoWriMo shirts.
I think I have to decide whether I'm going to participate this year.
So far I haven't gotten any big ideas, and I'm not sure if I want to continue in the same vein as the past stories.
I still love my Jerbear and all of those guys, and I don't think I'm done with that universe at all. Maybe I need a break from them? Or maybe I need a break from Nano. That's what I keep thinking, but on the other hand, I keep getting that urge, and in my stony heart of hearts I want to do something.
It's my 4th year! I've gotta try, right? I mean, this November will be busy, but it's been busier.
Aaaaaaahhhh, I think I'll get the shirt now, but I'd better start brainstorming soon. |

Yesterday, I was tested for allergies and found out that I am allergic to a great many things. Dust mites, pollen, trees, grass, mold, milk (?!), peanuts (?!?!), egg whites (?!?!??!?!), horses (...?!) ... essentially, it was confirmed that I have Oral Allergy Syndrome. So no more apples and peaches and various foodstuffs for me. :( And now I'm freaking out because I just had peanut butter on toast and my throat hurts. But it's weird because I always eat peanut butter and I have never had a problem before. If I become allergic to peanuts, I don't know how I can live. The situation is genuinely that dramatic. I love peanut butter. So much.
ANYWAY.
School starts tomorrow! Working at Staples has been sheer madness, for Back To School at Staples is a lot like Christmas for other stores. But apparently, I'm good at working during rush periods. (See previous periods of employment at: Titles, Chapters)
THINGS:
Vladimir Putin is badass.
I have a crush on Julia Nunes, who is a YouTube musician with loads of talent. Well, I either have a crush on her, or I want to be like her. I'm not sure. She actually performed with Ben Folds after he saw her cover of "Gone"! Which is just kind of awesome, really. Her covers are great fun. I love her "Keep Fishin" one. Also, "Build Me Up Buttercup" (because how can you NOT love that song, and now I have to listen to it).
I have now finished reading all canon Sherlock Holmes stories. :(

Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of weeks, I've not been feeling great. I made a decision to come off my medication as I was fed up of the side-effects (always hungry, always tired). So the only medication I'm on now is prescription pain killers and it shows! Argh! But it's better than being a hungry zombie (aren't they all?)! So yes! I'm really sorry I haven't been around, I've really missed you all. I hope everyone is OK. I hate talking about my various ailments, but I don't want you to think that I'd abandoned you for no reason! I really should do a post that I can link to for any new readers, but in case you're wondering, I have this and this, although Wiki makes them sound far more exotic and deadly. I should show my workmates...(;
( Last two weeks in picspam, including Harry Potter LRP, Rock Band, weird stuff, ghost walk and hair disaster 3.0. This is getting to be a habit... )
I'm still reading The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie (I know! I'm a slow reader sometimes!) It's so fantastic but there's absolutely no fandom out there! At all! I'm shipping people like crazy with no outlet ;__;. Boo. I'm slashing the grossest people too, hahaha. Actually, I'm trying not to look too hard for stuff on the internet, I still have two and a half books to read and don't want to be spoiled. Sand dan Glokta is too awesome for words, best character ever.
Disturbing news now: I read about CERN's particle accelerator some months ago, but suddenly today I'm really freaked out by it! I'm absolutely rubbish at physics (oh Faraday, our love can never be) it was my worst grade at GCSE, but still, messing about creating black holes does not seem like a good idea to me! I think it freaked me out because I was reading about the alleged time traveller John Titor (I hadn't heard of him before today! Wow! Seriously, how had I not come across this? Even though most of his predictions have fallen through it's still an excellent story) and suddenly time travel seems a little more possible with this CERN experiment, which he even mentions...and argh! I know nothing will happen...but I don't want the world to change!
My friend just booked us tickets to see Nick Cave in November, hooray!
