As you read this, thousands of comics are being packed up and shipped from their old home in Salinas, CA to their new home in Chicago, IL. Cold Cut Distribution, the leading distributor of independent and small to mid-size press comics in the United States, has sold their company assets to Rogue Wolf Entertainment. Retailers can still access the online ordering system at www.ColdCut.com , but be advised that Cold Cut will not be able to fulfill new orders while the inventory is still being moved and set up in the new warehouse.“We expect to be back up to full speed by the end of February,” said Lance Stahlberg, Vice President of Rogue Wolf. “We’ve already begun to reach out to customers and publishers, making sure inventory gaps are kept to a minimum as we rebuild.”

"I'd been looking for someone who could take the company to the next level, and Lance and his team are exactly the right people for the job," said Cold Cut's owner,Mark Thompson. "Having Cold Cut located in Chicago will cut shipping times and costs for most of our customers and suppliers, and makes more sense for the entire industry."

The new owners will continue to offer the same flat discount rate to retailers, and will seek to extend the same terms to all new accounts with previous Cold Cut customers.“As a team, we bring twenty-four years experience in the distribution business combined with a first-hand understanding of the needs of independent publishers to the table,” Lance added. “We have the resources to take this company to new heights.”

Seems that we're a little bit cursed. It was just a little more than a week ago that I sent off an email to let everyone know that our Online Catalog had been fixed. Well, it was up for a few days, then some little glitch occurred and it was down again.

But now the Cold Cut Online Catalog has been fixed -- and it is up and running again! To access the catalog, simply go to the main Cold Cut website at http://www.coldcut.com, and enter your login ID and password. (Visitors can always browse through the catalog at any time by using the login ID of "guest" and password of "guest"). Our online catalog is updated every 24 hours, and it has the current stocking status on every item.

After thirteen years of distributing small-press and independent comic books, the owners of Cold Cut Distribution are offering the company for sale, including its inventory, equipment and all other assets.

Within the comics industry, Cold Cut holds a unique position, filling a niche that no other company services. In addition to offering wholesale distribution, Cold Cut could be expanded or repositioned in many ways, including retail mail order, pop culture items, internet sales or other areas. As an established business, Cold Cut has the necessary infrastructure to jump-start any enterprising venture, and can be easily relocated from its current Salinas, CA warehouse to anywhere in the United States.

Please note that Cold Cut Distribution is not closing. We will continue to operate on a normal schedule and process all orders as usual. We are not changing the discounts we offer, or our terms of sale.

A Special Note for International Customers

On May 14th (next Monday), the US Postal Service is changing its mailing categories and rates. Part of this change includes a restructuring of the international mail services, and the elimination of all "surface mail" options. This means that we can no longer send packages overseas by "surface parcel post" or other economy postal method. Beginning on May 14th, only air mail options are available -- called "First Class International" for small packages, and "Priority Mail International" for larger packages. REMINDER - COLD CUT'S BIG SPRING CLEANING SALE!

Our biggest sale ever -- Over 2200 graphic novels at 60-90% off in April!

In order to make more room in our warehouse, we're clearing out OVER TWO THOUSAND books and graphic novels at 60%, 70%, 80%, even 90% off the normal retail price. Books from dozens of publishers, all genres and all types -- new books and old -- plenty to choose from. But you better act fast -- we're already one week into the sale, and a few books are starting to sell out already.

This Spring Cleaning Sale runs through the entire month of April 2007, and all books are first-come, first-served (all orders will be processed in the order they are received). No backorders, and no placing items on hold, please. Remember, quantities are limited -- Once we sell out, that's it!

Out of the 2200 books on sale, about half are available at 60% off the normal retail price, about a quarter are available at 70% off the normal retail price, and the rest at 80% or 90% off the retail price.
