Cold Squad is a Canadian television drama about the team of Vancouver police officers assigned to investigate unsolved murders -- cold cases. They are led by Sgt. Ali McCormick, played by Julie Stewart in a Gemini-winning performance.

This community is NOT for the American rip-off, Cold Case.

Julie Stewart is starring in a short film entitled Loving Loretta, which is set to debut at the FrameLine International LGBT Film Festival in San Francisco, tomorrow.

I think she looks great with that cowboy hat. Can't wait to see the film, so I hope it will debut in Canada soon, because I am nowhere near California.

Matthew Bennett is in the CBC's new TV drama about hockey players' wives, which starts next Friday, January 11 at 9pm Eastern.

This is his character description:

CEO of The Mustangs, Malcolm LeBlanc's instinct for power will always sacrifice loyalty for profit. He re-routes an insurance settlement from widow Evelyn McBride in order to fund the purchase of The Mustang’s #1 draft pick.

Nov. 22nd, 2007 @ 03:01 am "Sabbatical" pilot airs Friday night on CTV
A pilot for a new series entitled Sabbatical airs Friday night at 10pm on CTV.

It was created by Cold Squad showrunner Peter Mitchell and stars Matthew Bennett (Len Harper!) and Stephen McHattie (Coscarella), along with several other cool actors, including Tatiana Maslany, who was in Ginger Snaps II.

It looks to be a suspenseful show, with supernatural and/or occult overtones (Sabbatical... Sabbat...), and it's set in the Prairies Badlands.

My TV listings show "No Life Like It" for tomorrow night at 8pm on CTV, so it looks like the seventh season is going to rerun from the start once more. (CTV's website says "Voices Over Water", though.)

Tune in if you haven't caught it yet!

CTV's airing "Learning Curve" tomorrow night at 8pm.

I just found out that Showcase has also started to run Season 7. "Voices over Water" is on tonight at 8 pm, so I guess they must have aired the premiere last night. *checks website* Yep!

Barring new unexpected schedule changes, CTV should air an episode of Cold Squad tomorrow night at 10 pm. From the description on my cable listings, it looks like it'll be the late season 7 episode "Borders".

...and wonder of wonders, CTV's show info page confirms this!

(Tahmoh Penikett fans take note: he does not appear in this episode.)

Apr. 2nd, 2006 @ 05:33 pm Cold Squad to air in US in Fall 2006
With the success of DaVinci's Inquest in the US, Program Partners has acquired syndication rights to Cold Squad, selling it as part of their "Crime Watch" package to US stations. Set to premiere in Fall 2006, as of this week the show has been sold to 70% of the US market.

See if it will be available in your area by looking at the press releases.

So last night CTV aired Lost in the 10 pm timeslot, but now their online listings put Cold Squad there for the evenings of April 8th and April 15th.

Wow. I just checked the TV listings for tomorrow night on my cable provider's guide, and it seems CTV is rerunning an episode from Season 7 tomorrow night at 22h00!

The description looks like "Learning Curve", but their website says there's an episode of Lost in that time slot instead. Unless they're pulling an April's Fool thing on us, this is weird.

...but the schedule for next week does have an episode of Cold Squad listed for Saturday April 8 at 10pm!

The finale episode of S6 reruns on Showcase this Wednesday morning at 9 am (and again at 8 pm), which means that next week they return to S1 and run the series from the start. (I have no idea if or when they'll air S7.)

Just before that, however, you can catch one of Julie Stewart's earlier TV appearances, in an episode from 1995 of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues.
