Double Daughter's Salotto Invites You To A Very Special Evening...
In White

IN THE foothills of the Alps, for but a few fleeting spring days, wild white blossoms are gathered for your cocktail. The blossoms in question are elderflowers, the man un bohemian, and the cocktail a stylishly simple creation made with St-Germain, the first liqueur in the world created in the artisanal French manner from freshly handpicked elderflower blossoms.

AFTER gently ushering the wild blossoms into sacks and descending the hillside, the gathered blossoms are then carefully transported on bicycle, the gatherer taking the umbels of starry white flowers to market. Vraiment. There are no more than 40 or 50 blossom pickers, and in a matter of days they will have gathered and bicycled the entirety of what will become St-Germain for that year. You could not write a better story if you were François Truffaut.

a personal note: i have had st. germain at another promotional event. it's good, and it's strong. drinks made with it are like drinks from doug or suze. so, be careful and enjoy. i can't go to this because i'm going to spindrift, which is on the same night.

St. Germain is 40%, so comparable to other liqueurs. Since it's meant to be mixed, the drink really could be made as strong or as weak as desired depending on the other ingredients.

Personally, I've tried it on the rocks, and mixed with soda water, champagne, and both....I think the champagne/soda water/St. Germain was my favorite. It has to be a dry champagne though since the St. Germain is very sweet on its own. I'd like to try some martinis or mojitos made with it though!

Have fun at the event. It sounds lovely =)

I was just adding more information and tasting experiences since it's a community post. Nothing was meant toward your literacy =)
