reading [09 Oct 2008|06:00pm] bluejeanbaby [ mood | good ] I was all eager to be speed reading my way to success but then I read some articles that it's all pop psychology and such and the speed reading book told me to stop subvocalizing. How are the words supposed to get to my brain? Yeah I know that you get the "gist" by just looking at key words but I need more help than that. I've found that if I just block out the world and sit down to read I can get through a chapter in a reasonable amount of time. I'm okay being a slow reader, really, you can't savor good writing by making your brain think it's a competition to get through it or maybe it's just my brain. Now that my mother's chemotherapy has stopped kicking her ass quite so hard I can focus on school instead of hoping she doesn't expire from starvation. 1 comment|post comment

Yuri's wig is all straightened now and the sword is about halfway done. I still have to make the BLASTIA and glue the buttons on the shoes which will take about 10 minutes max I think The day's not even over. I haven't seen my parents yet. Thursday: LOL YAY, Japanese class, ALEX COMES HOME Friday: ~THE CON~ I was also thinking about calling in sick to school on one of these days (no seriously, I think I'm catching something). It's gotta be either Monday or Tuesday; but Monday I have to turn in crap but I have nothing to do after school and Tuesday I have nothing during school but have stuff afterwards. That day ... will probably be dedicated to working on Yuri. Ugh. Just remember I might not respond right away like in a normal IM because I could be sleeping or working or otherwise living life (!!! I know!) and might not actually see it right away. The last time I had IM forwarding for my cel I had to take it down because of my cyber-stalker. But I can't imagine anyone on my buddy list now doing that. Actually I think I turned privacy off, but I forget. O.o Well, if I start to have problems again, I guess I'll turn it back on.
