Free coffee at Starbucks if you vote! as usual, check your local store to see if they are doing it.

If you vote, Starbucks buys your coffee

On November 4, 2008, Starbucks will give voters a free tall brewed coffee at participating U.S. stores. This initiative kicks off with a 60-second ad during the final pre-election edition of Saturday Night Live on NBC this Saturday.

After voting, voters must go to a Starbucks store, where they’ll be given a tall (12 oz) cup of brewed coffee at no charge (limit one per customer).

Coffee: Stacked cups with beans
While doing some updating work at CocoaJava.com last night, I found myself out at Blackjava, and while I was there, I noticed an offer of a free "Cooking With Coffee" e-Book in PDF format. I got curious, so I signed up. I received a confirmation email a few seconds later, clicked it to verify that I'd indeed asked for this file, and was then directed to the file itself. I'd expected a few pagefuls of recipes, which is always nice to get, but what I was given was a 72 PAGE document, nicely laid out, filled with pictures and recipes, written in a friendly script font. 72 Pages! It's done in a style that if one were so inclined, they could print it out on a color printer and stick it in a notebook. Viola, a cookbook easily used in the kitchen.

I did receive a follow up email shortly after downloading the book, with a couple of recipes and tips about coffee. It has an 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom, so it looks like agreeing to take the cookbook signs you up for a newsletter. It's a simple one though, and relatively interesting.

I thought some of you might be interested in snagging the cookbook. And I think it would be nice if you could spend a bit of time poking about the Blackjava website, since the owner is nice enough to be giving this document out freely.
