I don't mind dropping five bucks on a cappuccino if I know it will make my day. (Good coffee is an investment!)

That being said, what are some of the best cafes in New York? Eclectic? Traditional? Beautiful? Fashionable? Grungy?

I'm going to be in the city for three or four days this week, and I need to hunt out the best! ;)

Today is my day off, so as usual, I took a bit of time, my mug, and my sketchbook down to the nearest Starbucks for to sit for an hour or two and doodle over coffee.

Because I brought in my own mug... I got free coffee?!?!? Even better... free refills?!?!?!?!

Not that I'm complaining in the LEAST, mind you, but didn't expect that! The choices for the free stuff is a little limited, but I gleefully substituted my usual raspberry white chocolate mocha for a raspberry Miso (no idea on the spelling, and because I've got a decent caffiene buzz going, I probably am not remembering the name right either), which I think is just coffee cut with steamed milk.

Very nice way to waste an afternoon!
