cockytiel
Elvis has been really needy lately. Stephen and I haven't been home as often so I think that's what it is. I think Elvis is starting to feel his Spring fling. He very persistently *clears throat* tries to pleasure himself on my foot. He'll even try to rub on my shoes or on a pair of folded socks. I definitely have a bird with a foot fetish. He's been really screechy and just generally being a "cockytiel." He's getting plenty of sleep and I interact with him a lot. He's out and with me for several hours every day. He's showing nesting behavior like last season and it's driving me nuts! Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Hehe, boys will be boys, huh? ;) It's definitely getting into the early stages of "that time of the year" for many local bird species - I'd imagine it's about time or our parrots to be doing the same thing! Not quite mating season, but certainly time to show interest in such a thing by singing, nest-building, and doing uhh..less modest things to express their preparation for siring hatchlings u.u

I wonder if my birds are getting ready for spring, too..? Gen definitely has a foot fetish, too. I'm sure he'll be happy to see my feet when I return home this weekend x.o

Glad to hear Elvis is not the only one with a foot fetish!

Oh my gosh, Gen LOVES feet! He perches on mine and sings to it all the time, then rubs the top of his head on it, it's strange O.o He hisses at anyone who tries to touch him when he's on my foot, too...Maybe it's the lack of zygodactylous anatomy that's so alluring.

I think Cloud was going through the same thing a few weeks ago. I had to remove a particular toy from his cage because every time I came into the room, he would fly over to me and try to peck my eyes out. Very nasty behavior indeed.

Mine does that almost all the time, he even did that after rubbing on his perch..I walked and after some 0_@ expressions and when he was done he flew at the bars acting agressive.

anway when people here say that behavior is healty, i don't think they mean to us. Ecco croons to things like pilllows, socks, blankets, my pants when i wore them, and now...curtains. He gets very violent.
this violent behavior is pretty constant. Otherwise hes nice, but we can't remove eveything in the house.
