heya!

just wanted to share that i got my birdies a new perch to sit on so they can be out of their cages more often and sit by me at the computer while i do my work (or ya know, just chat with friends).

anyway, here it is:

they enjoy it..! especially the gray.. she's ALL about food. i think i'm gonna talk to a vet soon and just ask 'em about her weight and stuff. she's quite chubby!

i think instead of bianca and dusty, i'ma call 'em cha-cha and tango. :P

regardless of their names, i still think they enjoy being called "birdie" or "girls" or "gals".. :)

okaaaay, must get back to being productive!!

(sorry, [info]teechers_pet for the same picture twice..!)

edit: the weirdest thing just happeend. both of the birds just flew off their perch and flew over/around me into the bathroom. BOTH OF THEM!! what the heck, are they conspiring? :P hahaha, and believe it or not, both of their wings are extremly clipped. .

cockatiels have amazing strength and agility. really by clipping them you aren't doing too much. most of them can still fly lol. my tiels are like that oto though, if one takes off the other kinda gets a bit spooked and takes off as well!

Aw! Your girls are sooooo cute! My bird Elvis loves to sit on my laptop while I'm online or whatever. He sometimes tucks his head and sleeps while I'm typing away. So adorable. BTW, your grey doesn't look overweight in the picture. Do you have a little birdie scale or a food weigher? You can check her weight that way to see if she's on track.

Oh yeah, Elvis is actually a little underweight for a cockatiel. I think it's because he'd much rather be with me than eat.

*waves!*

Sometimes mine also fly at the same time. you'd think one would fly then the other. Both of them pick up and take off at the same time, though. Sunshine, our boy, is really adept at flying. He's really graceful, and light in the air (and fast!) Couscous, who we've kept clipped since she was little, has grown two of her long feathers and she can pick up some air now. (it's winter and we keep everything closed up, but in the summer we'll probably clip again.) Anyway she flys so heavy and flappy and noisy and always ends up banging into something, never landing where she intends... haha We just laugh at her. She's so cute!
