hiieee!!

i've posted a couple'a times with different questions and i'd mentioned that i'd be getting a baby bird, as our birds at work just laid eggs and they've hatched and all..

wellllll yesterday, two more birds were brought in to be given up for adoption. and lemme tell ya, they're GORGEOUS!!!

infact, i may end up keeping one or two of these, perhaps rather than taking a baby!!

these perdy birds are named cocoa (but i'm calling her fancy) and fefe. check out the pics! so pretttty!

yayyyyyy!!! oh yeah. umm, fancy's the gray, and fefe's the white one. they're both pretty stuck up. fefe's bark is worse than her bite (she'll look like she's gonna peck your finger off, but she steps up REAL nice).. but fancy, on the other hand, is real nice.. but doesn't seem to cooperate with the stepping up. it's especially hard to get her off of my shoulder.

fancy loves to be scratched and rubbed and will fall asleep cuddled in your hands... but fefe will eat you if you touch her, even if yer holdin' her.

they've come a long way in the past two days and are warming up to us nicely.

oh, the excitement!!

They're lovely. =) Congrats and good luck.

Grey one looks a little portly, though. Pellets? =)

hehe, good call.

yes, the gray is quite portly :) they were on nothing but seed when they came to us.. but surprisingly, they LOOOOVE the pellets. so much so that they've already switched completely over to them.

we're gonna make sure they stay happy AND healthy. =)

Me too - I'd love to bring those cuties home. They're very sweet.

We just took in a bird that was given to the shelter. After about a week of warming up to us, he's been so cool. He's so sing-songy all the time, and has a different tune every day!

I'd like to get a white one or cinnamon pearl next.

If they`re a bonded pair I`d recommend taking both of them rather then splitting them up. It`d be especially hard on poor Fefe if she ended going to a home that didn`t have any cockatiels.

yeah, i'm not sure how bonded they are... they came together, but i don't know if they were caged together, as they came with two cages.

they're caged together now, though, so i'm assuming they probably had a lot of interaction, 'cause i wouldn't expect them to get so used to each other under the stress of a new place so quickly.

but, i will admit, in the picture of them looking at one another, they look kinda cuddly... but they pecked each other right after that. hehe, but that could just be normal, too, if fefe didn't want her space invaded (wouldn't be surprised)

so, in short (haha, yeah right! that's impossible for me), i may end up with the both of them, but i've gotta make sure the cage i have is big enough and etc. =)

thanks for the caring suggestion!
