Unsafe cage?
I just got a new cage for Christmas for Trevor. I'm a little concerned about it now that I actually see it in person. I think the bar spacing and the gaps might be too big for him.

It's a 20x20x29", and it has 5/8" bar spacing. But there are larger gaps around the edges of the playtop when it's closed, and on the side of the food dish doors.

Does anybody else have this cage? Do you guys think it's safe for my bird? I really hope I'm just being paranoid because it would cost a lot of shipping to return it.

That's actually the same cage I have my greencheek Mori in. 5/8" bar spacing is actually pretty common for tiel cages. You could use slim PVC pipes tied to the bars to block the larger gaps.

The perches included are way too big for a cockatiel, but the small one is good for holding the playtop open. Definitely put in some smaller perches. Otherwise, I think you can make it work for a tiel, since it works for my greencheek.

I have that exact cage but in chrome, it worked really well but I have my own perches which I use (natural wood, ropes etc)
