The new "bird" in our house!
My hubby made this cockatiel out of an egg carton for my 6 year old son. It's a great way to get my babies to hush down, they really think he's real! :o)


"Hey, who's the new guy sitting on our cage!"



When you see it in person it looks pretty real!

My boy would probably tear it to shreds or hiss at it. He's quite territorial.

But that's a pretty impressive fake tiel!

I tried making a paper-mache tiel to be a friend for my Buzz a while back. I used flour and water to stick it all together, thinking that then if he chewed on it, it wouldn't be bad for him. Naturally, he hated it, as he's an ornery little creature sometimes. So, I put it on a shelf somwhere, and forgot all about it. A month or two later, I'm sweeping out from behind the fridge, and out comes a ratty chewed-up dessicated tiel. Scared the hell out of me! - the toy tiel I'd made had fallen back there, and since it was made from flour, some mice had had a wonderful time with it. If there is a moral to this story, it is this: keep track of that thing!!!!

I could see that happening here, too. If my boyfriend found it, he probably would have screamed like a girl. XD
