New perches and mirror!
I bit the bullet and bought Zest a mirror... He's a bit hesitant to it but he'll still sit there.

Also... check out his new branches... I actually sawed them too short and had to duck over to the hardware store and they screwed screws to the ends so they'll sit in the bars.

Yeah yeah... I still have a traditional perch in there but I need it for his spinny toy! :)

Looks great!
I still recommend getting some destructable chewing toys in there. Birds lot to break things! Stuff with wooden or paper parts, or some corn husks or dried palm fronds (Shredders, a great toy). You can even make some (or add on to your existing plastic toys somehow) using stuff like dried pasta. Most birds love to snap it into itty bitty pieces once they figure it. You can demonstrate by destroying some pasta yourself well Zest watches.
Fresh foods like big hanging leafy greens or carrot sticks can also help fill part of the `destructable toys` quota. Just make sure to toss it after a few hours.

Yah... I plan to trek to Lincraft (craft store) and buy some materials to make my own... I LOVE the food colouring idea!

Rumpus has the exact same mirror. Except now it doesn't have the little perch attached to it because he decided it would be more fun to chew it off. He was standing on it chewing his little heart out when next thing you know he falls right to the bottom of his cage...because he chewed right through it!

Rumpus is rather partial to mirrors. He's a very vain bird. Give Zest some time and he may get used to seeing his own reflection.

Aw! Look at the pretty bird in the mirror. ^_^

You cleaned the branches before you put them in the cage, right? (Stupid question, I know... I just wanted to double check)

Oh, and Bella had that exact same toy that you've got in the background (the one with the wooden orange and banana pieces). She chewed the banana completely up. It was rather funny.
