Subject: [ClutterersAnonymous] Looking for pack rats
From: "kaostv1" <kaostv1@yahoo.com> Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2006 22:35:48 -0000 To: ClutterersAnonymous@yahoogroups.com Looking for fun/quirky women that don't have a handle on their clutter for an award-wining documentary series on a major cable network for women. Whether you are a shopaholic whose clothes are flowing into your living space or can't throw your collections out for sentimental reasons we want to hear from you. First, we would get to know you and your uniqueness as a person and how you live your life outside the home. The idea is to show the dichatomy that can exist where one might be successful in the rest of their life but their house is a wreck. We want to potentially bring in professionals to help conquer your clutter. It will be a fun light hearted more quirky rather than depressing. We look forward to hearing your story! kaostv1@yahoo.com 26th September 2006

A: "Clutter is anything we don't need, want, or use that takes our time, energy or space, and destroys our serenity. It can be outgrown clothes, obsolete paper....We may be selective in some areas, but not in others. Objects may be strewn about or wedged into drawers; neatly stacked or stowed in storage." The Twelve Steps of Clutterers Anonymous, CLA WSO Literature Committee, approved February 1996. Q: Is cluttering a real problem? A: Anything that can get you evicted, get your children taken away from you, keep you from inviting people into your home, get you charged more by retailers and the tax authorities because you can't find the paperwork needed to pay them on time, is a real problem. Q: Does cluttering go together with ___? A: Clutterers are more likely to have one of these: clinical depression, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). But none of these invariably goes together with cluttering; and cluttering doesn't invariably go together with any of them. Organizations for clutterers If you can't find a local group, call your local self-help phone number (if you can't find it easily in the phonebook, ask your local library for help finding it). I have been making some good decluttering strides through another lj community, 22nd May 200521st May 200520th May 2005HI, to be honest, Clutterers Anon. I had never heard of. I just finished reading a bit about the organization. It sounds interesting. There are so many great organizations out there for dealing with clutter. I hope you don't mind me joining your group. I could use someone to be accountable with. I have been fluttering with Flylady for about 4 yrs. and dealing with the clutter is my most difficult challenge. I have been involved with the St. Paul Flylady group since it started up. Current Mood:

Got the okay to change the South Minneapolis Clutterers Anonymous from once a month to twice a month -- second and fourth Saturdays. Next step: Changing the information in various places. I'd intended that to start next month, but didn't say so. I can either correct this, or show up for the fourth Saturday this month. Got some stuff picked up. |
