Hey. So I just watched I'm a legend; in fact it's about 4 a.m in France and I didn't want to go to sleep and I thought that I watched a movie, I'd be tired after but not at all. Moreover, I'm going on holidays on Tuesday in the "Morbihan". It's in the North West in France; I'll not be able to post until three weeks so it's like my last post here. I had a good day with my mom, a really good day. I'm glad that our excursion to Cypress Gardens made her happy, it's so nice to see her smile and laugh like that. It was a perfect way to celebrate her upcoming birthday, the only thing missing from the remainder of it is the cake I haven't baked her yet. But that's a flaw that can be overlooked with ease.

I saw this link to a Wall Street Journal article saying the credit to Dark Knight belongs to GW Bush and how it is a veiled metaphor for the Bush policies. I can't believe the Wall Street Journal actually published this. Can Murdoch just go the fuck away, please?

3. Today's July 25th, which marks the end of the summer semester. I have no idea when the fall one starts (as I never do until I manage to find it on the university's website). But I turned in my internship paper earlier this week so I'm good to go! Only one more semester left until I graduate grad school! Holy balls, that's scary. I'm gonna have a Master's degree (and a shitload of loans to pay back which I'm trying not to think about)! People will then have to call me ...The Master. *wriggles eyebrows and plays Voodoo Child* Well no, actually I think I prefer Jedi Master. Yes, Master Megan-Wan. ;)



4. Yesterday not one but two of my friends on Facebook had status messages that were bits taken from Dr. Horrible. LOL, what a crazy random happenstance!

ETA: *looks at mood theme* Haha, I swear I didn't plan that! It just was another crazy random happenstance that I was talking about Jedi Masters and there they are. But arrgh, get OUT, Hayden Christensen! If you're there, why is Obi-Wan not the younger, hotter version of himself???

Oh my god, I hate Lily's S2 hair. MAKE IT GO AWAAAAAAY.

On the other hand, seeing Barney trying to prove to Ted's parents that he is the Most Important Person in Ted's life? HILARIOUS. And also, gay.

OMG, it was such a trial to get them in! I mean, I knew it would be, but I was there an hour and a half trying! I couldn't even get in the ones that were ordered for me. The Hydraclear technology meant it would not let go of my finger. So the eye doctor gave me a different brand to try. Well, two different brands. The first hurt too much but the second was good. They have plasma coating or some such thing, so they let go of my finger easier.

What's funny is that I thought they were just sample contacts, but once I got both in he was like "Okay, let's check your eyes." so I guess they're my prescription or close to it? I dunno, I think maybe they aren't for astigmatism because the right one doesn't feel 100%. Like it's not blurry, just off a little. But I could read the bottom line of the eye chart, so huzzah!

I asked to take my ordered contacts anyways to try and get them in on my own, and if I find I can't, they'll order the ones I'm wearing now for me.

Trying to take one out was as frustrating as all get out too. I mean, I know it'll get easier, but just the thought of having this thing on your eyeball that you can't get out is really nerve-wracking.

Think I'll leave them in til this evening, then fight to get them out and put on the ol' glasses. Hey, hear that, glasses? You're old news now!

Monday and Tuesday, I felt off. I didn't even want to read. It that is as bad as it gets, reducing meds is working out wonderfully.

My friend Danielle has noticed the change in me. Today, she said I am happier and more energetic than before. I am even mulling over an idea for the parts of Before the Beginning that I need to write. It is MY idea and I really like it. Today I may do some research into it.

I've been emerging myself in the wonderful world of goths. I found an amazing artist, Victoria Frances. You have to register to see the gallery, but it is free and worth it. I will do a lengthy post on her later.

I've been working on goth icons this week (and taking vampire quizzes. I'm a succubus for one quiz, and Marius for another). Can't write about vampire and urban fantasy and not have gothic icons. The only icon that I have that is remotely goth is my Death one, which needs to be redone. Now I have lots and lots. First I went through my fantasy art collection and made about ninety icons. (Some are from Victoria Frances. An icon table will come in the future. Feel free to gank what you would like, but please let me know) I didn't realize I had so much dark art. I tend to collect happy pretty faeries and elves. Last night, I made over hundred from Victoria Frances and I'm not even half way done.

For those fortunate to live across the pond, BBC One tonight has on John Barrowman: The Making of Me which goes into why he is gay. Here are two previews. The second one is priceless. Here is the BBC write-up on it. I found about this from barrowmanfans and I'm sure they will upload it. The comm has a lot of great Barrowman vids and stuff.

I have a lot of sci-fi/fantasy readers on my flist. I'm not sure who on my list isn't one. Tor Books has 23 free ebooks and some beautiful wallpapers made from book covers, including one by Kuniko Craft. They are only available until Sunday, July 27.

Today, I'm listening to Jonathan Coulton and working on the section I'm giving to the group tonight. I gave it to Danielle last week. "NOOOO You can't leave me hanging like this. It's cruel and unusual punishment." Last week and this week's chapters are what started the book. They are probably the best out of the book. I told Danielle that I have trouble with settings and she looked at me like I had four heads. There is no way to break up this chapter for the group. Danielle said to do the whole thing tonight. She isn't going, so I can have her time. She's a good friend.

That's it for here. I'm doing much better and really enjoying my life again. Back to work.

I just have a quick question about it. I signed up for it awhile back, but only used it once. Well, I just got an eBay account so I decided to go add more money to my PayPal account, then I realized that my account is still using my old bank name.

See, SkyBank was taken over by Huntington. My checking account number's still the same, but it still says SkyBank under my bank account on PayPal. Is it fine to leave it as that? I'm thinking it is, because my checks still say SkyBank too, even though Huntington wants me to use checks with their name on it ASAP, which, screw them, because they bought out my bank a freaking month after I'd bought a shitload of checks.

So Mia is a complete terror. Having a three year old sister is the most unpleasant thing in my life. I love the kid to death but she really just puts me in such bad moods.

Meh.

Hung-out with Brendan today, we got food from Panera and when we got back to my house (to babysit Satan) a huge storm hit our area. All of a sudden it was black out and rain just came down in buckets. I've never seen it rain like that before. I love when the electricity goes off and it was lightning out really bad so I got excited and got candles so of course it didn't go out. Played video games with Mia and Brendan and watched HP3.

After Brendan left, I started going photo-editing CRAZY. I recently figured out photoshop actions, and how fucking amazing they are. I used a lot that I downloaded from DA but made a bunch of my own. So time saving. My mom got me one of those toasted almond icecream bars and I fucking love them.

Also, if anyone likes Phantom of the Opera or The Labyrinth this is a really funny comic about the characters in those stories.

It's about the two girls from those stories living above the two guys from the same stories, along with other movie/book characters.

I wish they still held those old fashioned dances from the 30's & 40's. In movies, everyone always looks happy and all ....old fashioned.

2) oxoniensis' Porn Battle VI is starting up soon! I've volunteered to sort through prompts because....I don't know, I like looking at prompts? Anyway, I'm pimping this out because even though I am pretty much incapable of writing porn myself, I intend to spam the hell out of the prompt post and you should all do so as well because porn = fun. Also, the Porn Battle is epically HUGE, so there's always a variety of prompts/fandoms. The official porn writing part starts July 28th, so go! Prompt! Write! WOO!

So I made a shawl over the weekend. :) It's made out of the same yarn I used to make that pink shrug I posted a few weeks back. It's just a simple shell stitch, as I was having trouble with all the shawl patterns I was coming across, so I just invented my own.
