In their part of the world, Orpheus is life. They live to escape to Orpheus--to see their friends, to hear the bands play, to drink and forget, to dance with a faceless stranger, to start a new love affair. Some people love Orpheus enough to work there, they spend half of their lives bartending, serving as waiters--working for Orpheus in general.
Orpheus is very strategically placed--it's in the center of everything. Near apartment complexes, cafes, laundrymats, grocery stores and the like, which makes it easily accessible to the legal (and occasional underage) public, and very convenient to visit. Also, it offers several job opportunities. What more could you ask for?
People in Orpheus are varied--from the shy type to the most outgoing, from the prude to the promiscuous, from the sober to the drunk, from the clean to the drug addicted. Secrets are all over, waiting to be exposed. Scandals are bountiful, and often things like "Who stole whose boyfriend? Who slept with who?" are heard through the grapevine. Because of this, and many more reasons and factors, people become the best of friends, the worst of enemies, the closest of lovers, et al.
