I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences about the Nuva Ring; I know it's been talked about on here before, but no one was very specific. I'm considering going on it, the only thing I really worry about is if guys can feel it... during sex? while fingering? Tell me all you know, though.

So I've been on Ortho tricyclen lo for about four months now, mostly to regulate my cycle since before it was completely random and horrible (I had several instances of fainting from pain). The contraceptive properties are nice of course, but I only see my partner about once every three months and he's a condom fanatic and the scheduling seems to always work out to where I'm menstruating, so it's not something I stress over.

However. I did notice that now when I menstruate along with blood there's a lot more tissue than before, not clots which are generally red, but like whitish/skintone and brown tissue. It didn't bother me so much to begin with, but just now I took a bath and some came out. I'm in the second week of pills, definitely not menstruating. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to go to the doctor if this is common since I just lost my job and I've already spent over $2000 on healthcare this year.

I feel 'I should also mention I was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia two months ago, if that has any bearing.

Okay, so i'm really late on my period. I took a pregnancy test, and it came out negative. It has been about 5 days since that and I still haven't had my period, but I've been having discharge that would almost be equivalent to what would be my period. it is most definately discharge though. I'm going to wait a couple more days before I try taking another pregnancy test, but I don't think i'm pregnant. I don't have any other early symptoms besides the missed period, so i'm really confused.

I started working out at least every other day for the past month, I started a new acne medication, and i've been stressed out, so i thought that would be some reasons as to why I would be late, but could all of those have caused me to skip a month entirely?

My friend said that it is possible to just skip a month entirely, but for the past 5 years, I've had a pretty regular period and not skipped a month at all.

Any advice would be awesome.

hi.
i am one of those people that stresses and worries about things all the time, especially about sex.
i am on the pill (yasmin).
on the weekend i had sex, with protection, but on one occassion the condom broke.
what i wanted to know was how safe i am?
is the pill fairly effective?
and, if you are on the pill, can you still get your period and be pregnant?
or if you were pregnant, would you miss your period completely, even whilst on the pill.

I'm on Nuvaring and I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. They pushed penicillin through my IV and said it might mess up the effectiveness of my birth control and I should use alternative methods, but they didn't say for how long. Does anyone know when it goes back to normal effectiveness?

Hello everyone. I suppose the first thing I should do before I go into request/consideration for submissions for my upcoming zine is to introduce myself. My name is Jackie. I am 25 years old and currently living in Orlando, Florida but originally a Midwest girl (who misses it!) I grew up in the outskirts of Green Bay and went to Catholic school my whole life until I went to college. I went to university for Women’s Studies, Literature in Translation (Norwegian) and LGBT Studies. Obviously if you want to know more about me I am more than willing to tell you.

I am in the process of starting a zine (no title yet) having to do with women and masturbation. I want any woman identified woman to give me a short (yet detailed) description of what masturbation does for them, how important it is to their daily life and perhaps what turns them on. I do not want women to feel embarrassed by what they find erotic and by what their fantasies are. This zine is intended for a woman audience (although we can’t stop men from reading it obviously) and it is meant to be a reader for all women who love masturbation and love their bodies.

Another portion of the zine that you are encouraged to participate in but it is definitely not required is a photo of yourself. I ideally want a photo of yourself after you have just masturbated but it could be a picture of you at the zoo with your family or a candid one with friends. Personally for me, I find that right after I masturbate I feel totally sexy and beautiful and I’d love for other women to capture that moment after you have experienced an amazing sexual release. I know for some people you’d rather just be anonymous and not have anyone know what you look like and I totally respect that. I would just encourage you to get over that barrier of being a faceless masturbator and be loud and proud! That is exactly what this zine is about.

For what I’m looking for: any woman identified woman. I encourage queer and straight women to submit of course. I want a nice cross section of everything. I want trans people and older women and fat girls and anyone else under the woman identified woman spectrum. I don’t want to be the judge of who identifies as a woman or not because that is not my place. Please just use your best judgment.

After I write my own entry and have my own picture, I will post it to encourage more people to consider doing this. I’d love a cross-section of the country and perhaps even outside of the United States. I want you to know that I’m a real person and not a creepy person trying to get girls to submit personal moments/pictures of them. To prove it, I have a very active Livejournal and a Myspace with lots of real life friends (haha) and I’m a normal raging feminist who just wants to put out the good word of female masturbation.

Q about tampons

So, I am at a dilemma right now. I am a lesbian, never been with a guy or girl, so I am a virgin. I'm having a problem, and I really don't know where to turn. My doctor is great, and you really can't say that about a lot of doctors, but right now she's not being a lot of help. In about 2004, I started having problems with irregular pap smears. She would treat me for yeast and bacterial infections, they would go away for awhile, and then come back. Later, she discovered that I had a condition called lichen planus, which essentially is an autoimmune disorder where your body attacks the skin in that region. It can cause bumps and irritation. She thinks that the irritation can, in turn, lead to infections, which was why I kept having the constant problems. She said that, since my skin is very sensitive down there, that I should not use soap or other chemicals. Eventually, the problem went away (it took about a year) and I started getting normal pap smears again...until earlier this summer.

This summer, I got a bad infection and I've been having problems ever since. She treated the infection and, again, I started getting normal pap smears, but the irritation has never gone away. My doctor did notice that I had a strange rash on my labia with little dots. She said she'd never seen anything like that before. She again told me to not use soap (which I haven't used since 2004!) or even a rag in that region and that I should just use the shower head to clean there. She had already had be on a lot of antibiotics and medication for yeast infections, and she said that the best thing we could do at this point is not to use anything down there and to let my body heal on its own. For a little over a month, I didn't put anything up there. No sex and no tampons. Then, last night, my husband and I decided to have sex. I told him to use a condom since I really didn't start having problems until we stopped using one in 2004. Part of me wondered if I was having a reaction to his seme. Well, it still hurt and it feels like my skin there is still irritated. I almost made him stop. Afterwards, I thought I was going to cry. I don't know what's wrong, I don't know why it's not feeling any better, and I'm getting very frustrated about not being able to mess around with my husband without it hurting.

Is there anybody out there who can give me any advice or recommend another community where I can ask? I'm hoping that maybe there's someone else out there with similar problems who can give me some words of wisdom...

morning-after pill needed...or not?

Ok, i'm in a bit of a predicament...

Last night i -kind of- had sex in the shower... without a condom. And by kind of i mean that he was only inside of me for a few minutes (at the most), he DID NOT come and there was no pre-cum (it had been washed away by the water). Should I get the morning after pill or am i safe without one? I feel silly asking this but if anyone could be honest with their opinion and help me out that would be fantastic.
