That's right, we've convinced her back behind the decks, so get ready for a rockin' Ascension. We also have DJ Rake guest DJing, and his sets never disappoint! Ascension this month is Goth, deathrock, and post-punk themed, so tease up your hair, grab your pointiest boots, and start practising that two-step. Prizes for the best outfits, so dress to impress! Time to break out the bubble-skirts and crimping iron, because it's the Annual Ascension 80's Special! It's also the last Ascension for the year, so come and help us say goodbye to 2008!  This month, we've got a live performance by LUNAR MODULE, as well as guest DJ sets by Lunar Module and Erasurehead With a mix of the old goth tracks you love to dance to, and the trashy pop hits that Miss Kate will ensure get requested, it's going to be an awesome night. Guys, there's been reports lately of drinks being spiked at clubs. Whilst I know this isnt the first time it has happened, I figured it was time for a reminder. Please, be careful with your drinks. If you must accept drinks from people, go to the bar with them, and dont let them handle it at ANY stage. (of course, the best option is to not accept drinks from people you dont know and trust implicitly at all) If you dont feel right, let someone know! There's tonnes of people you can tell - your friends, the bouncers, bar staff, the club promoters, hell, go visit whoever's in the DJ booth if it gets dire. Keep an eye out for your friends. If theyre acting strangely, see if they're ok. If someone tells you they think their drink has been spiked, or they dont feel right, dont ignore them or chalk it up to them having drunk too much. And just as importantly - if you see someone acting suspiciously - let the bar staff, security, manager, promoter know!! We need to keep an eye out for each other. thanks |
