Thank you!!!
A huge round of thanks to everyone who attended The Clockwork Ball last night! We had a wonderful turnout with some very well-dressed people, I was quite impressed. I hope you all join us again in September when we move the event to HELL in Chapel Hill.

And, a huge round of applause for "The Interpretative Whale Dance", we had the largest group of participants yet!

Secret word of the Day - Carpetbagger
On last Tuesday's program we called out generally for anyone listening to provide us with a noun we could write an impromptu poem concerning. The wonderful Ducky phoned in to our program and provided us with the word Carpetbagger. Below you will find our poems, written very hastily, and read despite much giggling.

Klaude's Acrostic

C - is for Carpet, of which your bag is made.
A - is for A slice of pie: made of lemonade.
R - is for Rayguns, which Klaude likes a lot.
P - is for Pot Pies, best when served hot.
E - is for Everything, that's a good many things.
T - is for Tops, that spins and spins and spins.
B - is for a Bag, to hold all this stuff!
A - is for finding inside A bit of fluff.
G - is for Going places, what carpet bags are for.
G - that's another G, yup, one more.
E - is for packing Each and Every bit.
R - is for Really cramming it in, I do hope it all fits.

That's my Carpetbagger poem, each word from my mouth,
Now close that bag up and let's head on south!

Emmett's Limerick

There once was a Carpetbagger named Ducky,
Who was considered to be quite lucky,
He traveled from town to town,
Buying things for farthings and pounds,
Which was considered to be quite plucky.

Next week, arm yourselves for the same challenge. Bring us your nouns!!

The Tarboro Invasion, a grand success...
The Clockwork Cabaret went to Tarboro, NC and much rejoicing was had by all! It was a lot of fun... people enjoyed our 'Fake History Walking Tour', we took turns riding on and pedaling the pedicab, the locals seemed fascinated by our crew of dapper looking ladies & gentlemen, we played lots of music, and we had the largest group of dancers for the World Famous 'Interpretive Whale Dance' that we have ever had.

I did have a slight error in my calculations and did cause a large number of the town's children to be soaked in the reflecting pond during the boat races, but they all seemed to be having fun and their parents weren't upset, most were actually surprised that it hadn't happened sooner.

Now, the townsfolk want to have their own steampunk/neo-victorian ball, and a couple people told me that they would like to make the town of Tarboro, a steampunk town. It definitely has the setting with one of the largest historic districts I've ever seen (I think it's a stop on the Victorian Society Tour), the 15-acre town common, and a very lovely cemetary, and some great commercial buildings on Main Street. I told one of the organizers about Whitby Gothic Weekend and the Eccentrik Festival this year, and she liked the idea of possibly making a Tarboro Steampunk Weekend and hosting the Eccentrik Festival (though, I'm not sure that would work, but it was very flattering that they're so excited). So, who knows what may happen with the town of Tarboro?

And, on this show, we will present them all for everyone to enjoy! Do you have something to commemorate this great man? Would you like to share it with the world? Well, please feel free to send it to us, and we will air it on our show!

Tranmissions...
Dear listeners,

I just wanted to apologize for the delinquency in our podcast transmissions. We have been suffering from technical difficulties, which has resulted in the loss of Episode 21, and the lateness of Episode 22. It seems that CLANNG disrupted our recording device and somehow managed to cause some damage to our transmission beacon. But, do not worry, Klaude is, as I write, climbing all over Calpurnia and repairing the damage. So, I should be listing the latest transmissions sometime this week, if all goes well.

We thank you for your continued support! - Emmett

In which the sisters offer a way to cover your hideous nakedness
We here at Clockwork Cabaret Enterprises firmly believe it to be our duty to address our listeners' full gamut of needs. As such in the past we have been proud to bring you Clockwork Cabaret Brand Extra Chewy Granola Bars (with 50% more beef than the other leading brand), Clockwork Cabaret Duckling Soft Penny Farthing Seat Cushions, and most recently the Clockwork Cabaret Brand Cheese Grater with laser sight.*

Now those daring young Davenport sisters have turned their hand to addressing your own personal needs of fashion with the introduction of the very first run of Clockwork Cabaret Tshirts designed by the brilliant minds over at Bulletride Actionwear. T shirts are a paltry 20 USD and available currently from both Emmett and myself.

FASHION! Now, if you would be so kind as to turn to the left... )
