I've been sketching again, and tried to draw a picture of the Shadow and Lamont Cranston, only Cranston ended up looking more like George Clarendon. (House points if you remember him. *shivers*)

The Shadow (2010)

The last time any real news came out about the 2010 movie was December of as year. (Columbia & Raimi Team on The Shadow)

Now, we see what going on is... nothing. "I don't have any news on 'The Shadow' at this time, except that the company that I have with Josh Donen, my producing partner, we've got the rights to 'The Shadow.' I love the character very much and we're trying to work on a story that'll do justice to the character." --Sam Raimi on Spider-Man 4 and The Shadow

Theshadowfan.com has the story "More Producers Tied to The Shadow 2010" for June, but I haven't read this anywhere else.

The theory is if The Shadow is to actually come out in 2010, we'll definitely hear something by late 2008.

Just thought someone might look in this place and like to know!

Radio scripts, pulp titles

I've been doing a little research lately.

The Syracuse University Library is currently undertaking a project to record and preserve all publications of Street & Smith, the original publisher of the Shadow pulp novels. It doesn't look as though the project's current holdings include any of the Shadow books, but they have a nice list of all S&S' Shadow radio script titles.

A good portion of the titles can be found for download here.

I've also found a comprehensive list of Shadow books, radio programs, comics, and movies. Interestingly, the new reprints by Nostalgia Ventures are not in the original order.

Robert Sampson's "The Night Master"

This book was written by Robert Sampson, and published by Pulp Press in 1982. It's essentially a history of The Shadow,focusing mostly on the character as he appeared in the pulp magazines. It's a very well written book, and I'd recommend it to all fans of the Shadow.

The Shadow Lives Again! (sort of)

Don't know if you already knew this, fellow Shadow fans, but there have been some interesting Shadow news recently! According to VintageLibrary, licensed reprints of the Shadow pulps are coming soon! The first is actually due out sometime in July.

Though world is full of good actors who might (pun intended) want a shot at it, my personal pick for the Shadow is Peter Wingfield. (You may have seen him as Methos in the Highlander series.)

Hello! I'm a pulp!Shadow fan from way back and just found this place... is anyone still around?

The Shadow: Master of Darkness -- huge amount of information about every incarnation of the character.
The Shadow Magazine -- reviews for all 325 Shadow pulps, and some other neat stuff.
Dial B for Blog -- just found this one, actually; a fun summary of the Shadow's pulp character, with plenty of quotes.
IMDB message boards for The Shadow ('94)... currently supporting some weird rumors about a second Shadow movie.
