This is the community for the CCMC and we are your hosts, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} fromward and shattered. In this Challenge, we'd like to invite everyone to submit fics/manips/art based on prompts culled from pre-1980 classic films. A selection of movies will be available for previewing a few days before the sign-up period begins and each movie becomes available to any two participants. When sign-up closes, we will send the prompts, a quote and an object/location, via e-mail. For example, if a participant chooses Gone with the Wind, we will send prompts such as, Location/object: flag. Quote: "With enough courage, you can do without a reputation." Then one could make a manip of Clark and Lex blanketed by a flag of any kind. Or write a fic clexing the plot with one or both prompts in mind. The work could also be a historical fic or manip/art set in the American Civil War. Or you could take the quote and use it as an inspiration, regardless of whether or not you want to put it in the fic itself. Maybe a Superman who's brave enough to go around saving Metropolitans in the nude? ;) We hope these prompts will jump start the imagination, instead of act as boundaries. We are also asking that the writer/artist include an Afterword - detailed or simple - about her/his movie choice and the inspiration behind her/his work. Fics must contain a minimum of 1,500 words. Pairings: CLex or non-canonical ONLY, including crossovers. Excluded pairings: Clark/Chloe, Clark/Lana, Clark/Lois, Lex/Helen, Lex/Lana, Lana/Jason, Lana/Whitney, Jonathan/Martha, and any other found in canon. Preview of movies: Thursday, November 11, 2004 (as of 11/08, we have a selection of 39) Sign-up begins: Sunday, November 14, 2004 (max. of 2 participants per movie) Sign-up ends: Sunday, November 28, 2004 (participants will be contacted and given prompts via e-mail) extended to Monday, December 6 Archival deadline: Through Saturday, February 12, 2005 (entries are already being accepted). Challenge Deadline: Monday, February 14, 2005 (please post in your LJ unless archived, and a post will be available in the community where you can link to it). The website with the archived entries will be unveiled on February 13, 2005. We hope everyone will feel at home in this community.
