Cleverheart: version 38

The nothing-special layout version 38 is up over at Cleverheart.net. I have a hard time designing (especially on my slow Macbook) and I ended up with a simple layout not much different than my previous layouts.

As for changes, all of my tributes have been moved to an archived page and will no longer be updated with new content (though I am planning new layouts for most of them). All of my fanlistings have closed. I currently have only two active projects, my personal site and my layout archive/design portfolio which both must be redone. There is a feed of this update journal on the index page, which does slow the loading time down a bit. I will consider removing that feature if it slows the page down too much, but I do think it's rather useful to visitors. The affiliates page is gone for now, affiliates are linked with buttons on my exit page. I let a few affiliates go, mostly just those who haven't updated in longer than one year or had broken links. I've also dropped broken links on my general exit page.

Consider version 38 as a transition phase of the network -- it's nothing special, but better things will come later. :)

PS: cleverheartnet has a new design and finally features proper navigation by site in the right-hand column.

PPS: All of my pages are now subdomains, though the old URL works just as well. All network subpages had their exit pages tweaked and dead links removed. Some have had stylesheet tweaks as well.

Two updates, One notice

Fragmented has one new affiliate, and has had dead links weeded out of the exits page.

My Maguri/Maora fanlisting and Kokoro Kikai fanlisting have closed, because I could not find suitable owners in two weeks time. I now no longer own any fanlistings. :)

Look for the new domain layout by this weekend. Don't expect anything grand!

Hiatus Extension

I'm going to have to put off the domain's hiatus until mid-May at the very latest. I underestimated the will of my PC (it broke again, but I'll be using my laptop from now on) and I now have exams because I'm finishing up the Spring term at college. So as soon as May hits, I'll be working hard on fixing up the domain full-time.

The layout I have is already coded and needs a few tweaks -- it's very simplistic because I can't seem to do better at the moment. The thing that's taking me so long is that I have a few new additions to the domain that I'll be focusing on now, and I want to get those up before putting up the new domain layout. I also want to revamp Hours, my personal site, before that as well. In short, I want everything to go up nicely, all at once. Expect the new version of the domain to focus more on myself and entertainment rather than shrines.

By the way, I'm not getting rid of my websites. I just ditched the empty, content-less fanlistings, and the shrines will just be archived on a separate page for visitors. ;) Sorry, didn't mean to scare you guys!

Domain Hiatus

I suppose I should have written a hiatus note before I went on hiatus, but doing things backwards isn't a new thing for me. Either way, the entire domain is on hiatus for the month of March.

Why? Many reasons.

1. School. Studying to become a teacher is much harder and time consuming than people realize.
2. My PC died, and I think I've lost all my files. I've been working on my Macbook, and I haven't gotten used to designing on here quite yet.
3. Design block. It's been one of those months where nothing I design comes out right.
4. Change of interest. While anime and manga have long been a loss of interest for me, video games are starting to join them as well. Though I still enjoy a good story, the process of playing isn't fun for me anymore. I'm starting to find ways around this, and I'm brainstorming ideas on how to work around this when it comes to my domain.

Don't worry! Cleverheart.net is not going anywhere. This month is all about me working on school, and taking the extra time to plan a complete overhaul of the domain by next month. A lot of things will be different, and I hope the reception is a good one.

As for individual sites, I am brainstorming on one or two sites behind the scenes, and I've decided to part with more of my fanlistings in the near future.

Cleverheart.net has its February layout up. It's simple and clean (lol), nothing big. It should work on all browsers and screen resolutions. A lot of things were reorganized, rewritten, and shortened. I'm changing my domain to suit me more, and I really like how this came out. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the big white space that comes up below the picture when the section gets longer, but whatever. Why didn't I make an iframe layout? Because I'm in love with tables, that's why. And I didn't feel like recoding stuff. So there.

Immaterial (the fanlisting collective section of the domain) is officially dead. I still have four fanlistings, but they will find home at the place on the domain where all my other sites are listed. I'm going to work on them and make them into respectable sites as well. They will soon be moving out of the "fan" subdirectory of the domain. This means fans will have to update links (again, sorry).

I dropped my Fuuko (Parfait Tic) project for now. I might pursue it, I might not. Right now, I have a Fuuko/Daiya fanlisting to build a good shrine for. That's going to take me time. Behind the scenes, I will only be working on the Snape tribute. Very slowly.

In short, things are happening. I'm trying to expand my sites. Some fanlistings just died off of the domain.

End of an era

Nevermore is now XHTML and CSS verified. (And that coding gave me the worst headache ever.)

Two of the fanlistings that were previous up for adoption have found good homes. WINGS (Utada Hikaru) has not, and a closed fanlisting form has been sent into TFL. Therefore, please don't send me any more applications! Thanks to all who applied, and sorry if you weren't chosen -- I hope you understand.

Currently in the works is the February domain layout (which I am very happy with) and a top secret project with calamityqueen of Deep-Mirrors.org and Fireflylight.net. My fanlisting collective, Immaterial, will be closed down next month and existing fanlistings will be moved to the network page on the domain. When I have bigger things over and one with, I hope to move onto future network projects soon.

Hours has joined the domain in becoming XHTML and CSS verified. I've reorganized the text to give it more of a magazine feel that I was going for.

Also, re-plugging my fanlisting adoption entry. Applications are closed one week from the posting date. If no one applies for the WINGS fanlisting, I'll close it!

I'm currently looking for people to adopt a few fanlistings. If you are interested, please email me at cleverheart@gmail.com with your name, site address, and why you think you should be chosen to pick up the fanlisting. Please realize that only person can be chosen for each, and that I have to right to reject any application. When I think I have received enough applications for a fanlisting, I will cross it out and no further applications will be considered. The list of fanlistings up for adoption are as follows:

Songs, Female Solo: WINGS (Utada Hikaru) 0 apps
Games, Characters: Fran (Final Fantasy XII) 6 apps
Games, Relationships: Axel & Roxas (Kingdom Hearts) 4 apps

I do realize that two of these fanlistings are quite a big deal. I am absolutely positive about giving away these fanlistings, and I won't be backing out at the last minute. It's a new year, and time to clean up! I think these fanlistings should go to someone who can take better care of them than I can. My interests have shifted, and hanging on to these won't do them any good.

Happy 4th Birthday, Cleverheart.net!

Nothing big, really. I've given up on trying to make the domain this big network with many detours and site informations. It's just a portal to the rest of my sites -- a very special portal! And that's the reason the domain has been so simple lately. Besides, I like simple.

Projects section has been updated, the GBook has been deleted (because of spam), and the Radio.Blog is no more. A few other things have been tweaked.

In the future, look for slightly different projects, code validation, and a separate website for my book reviews.

Locket has been updated with the new layout.

refreshing the archive

Locket had quite a few changes made, though the layout has stayed the same because I love its simplicity. The layout archive is now at its own subdomain, http://archive.cleverheart.net. All the thumbnails were changed to a much smaller size. There will no longer be detailed information about the latest layouts. A few sites were taken off, because they have either been closed or changed to fanlisting-only. A page was added about my layout-making. The disclaimer was slightly modified and the pages had PHP mistakes fixed.

EDIT: The site is now also XHTML and CSS certified! It's my goal to certify all my sites, but I'll take it one step at a time.

Cleverheart.net has it's December layout up. The network section was redesigned to bring you straight to the site listed. LJ tutorials were deleted from the material section because they were out of date. The exit page had dead links removed and hiatus notes put up. Todd, one of my lovely affiliates, moved to Sinspawn.net, so I changed all my links around the domain.

Immaterial has a new layout.

Nevermore has one lovely new affiliate.

Hours has been revamped with a new layout and revised content.

Locket has been updated with recent layouts across the domain.

It's final papers week for me, and final examinations are next week, so I can't do as much as I'd like around the domain. I am working on the December layout. More exciting updates are promised for December!

Getting productive

Locket has been updated to show all the latest layout updates. I still need to add a few new sites to the archive.

Nevermore has been revamped yet again, due to random strike of inspiration. A new layout is up. There are SIX brand new, wordy sections. (Kudos if you actually read everything, hahaha.) I've added sound clips to the Quinton Flynn page, but I want to take more time to get a few more and put them in a separate section. This might take time thought, because I have to extract them from video clips. I added two more wallpapers to the media section, and I actually think they came out pretty well (I'm using the pink one!). Lastly, I recoded the site using php.

Fragmented has received a layout change, because I wasn't thrilled with the previous one. It was also finally changed to php coding.

Monthly changes

Cleverheart.net has a new layout up for the month of November (my birthday month!). The colors are very Fall-ish, and I'm unsure of it. But it's a change, so I'll embrace it. Grayscale, my old shrine to Hatsuharu Sohma of Fruits Basket, has been closed down. Please see the Closed page in the Network section for more information! The Projects page in the Network section has also been slightly modified. The Book Reviews page in the Material section has been updated.

The radio.blog has been upgraded to the latest version, has new songs, and received a layout that I will probably change when I have more time.

Two fanlistings, Are We Really Alive? and Other Half received layout changes.

I have a lot of sites/fanlistings I'd really like to expand right now (like Axel/Roxas and Daiya/Fuuko!), but I'm having trouble finding time. If I can find time, I'll be working on these sites! Once I feel that these two sites are more complete, I'll be able to work on my neglected Fuuko shrine. I hope I can launch that at the end of this year, or during January. And naturally, the November domain layout is in the works. So much to do!

Hand in Hand has a new layout (finally -- its first layout change!). Nothing new was added content-wise, but it's something I'm working on since I'm needing to catch up on the most recent chapter releases. The PHP scripts were updated as well, but it's nothing visitors would notice. A few things were rearranged.

All of the fanlistings at Immaterial had the member's section re-styled, and many had broken members lists fixed.

In the End, my newest fanlisting and dedication to Daiya/Fuuko, has a new layout. I didn't like the color scheme of the old one! This layout is here to stay. More good news, as the information section finally has its information up! Be prepared for more sections to come as I work on them behind the scenes. More codes have also been added a while back.

PS: In the End is now affiliated with Paper Hearts!

Nothing too exciting

Cleverheart.net has a new monthly layout, of course. Affiliate screenshots were updated. Links page no longer has its own section/layout, but is integrated. Dead links were removed, status of the domain was added if necessary. The Network section was reorganized into new site categories. Latest additions and revamps were added to the side-navigation. In the End was added to the site listings. The projects section was changed to "projects and ideas", due to differences in how I will go about completing them.

All fanlistings around the network (Immaterial) were successfully upgraded to Enthusiast version 3.1.3.

Added Later: Locket was updated with all the newest layout changes. A few changes were made to the site's CSS coding, just to pretty it up a bit.

Nevermore, my Axel tribute, has been revamped. At first it seems as if I've just changed the layout and flipped the image. Don't blame me for lack of layout-worthy Axel pictures! For the content, I've rearranged everything and put everything into sections. In the information section, I've finally added complete RE: CoM information and KH2:Final Mix information. The Relationship and Quotes sections were slightly reorganized. I've also edit for inaccuracies in other sections. The Media section is entirely new, and will have some things for visitors that I'll make whenever I get bored. Last but not least, the site has one new affiliate in the Site section!

Freshening up

Immaterial, my fanlisting collective, has finally been updated with a new layout. I had no choice, since I needed more space for listing my fanlistings.

Take a Chance has received a much needed layout change. The layout was well over year old...it's probably the longest I've ever had a layout up without changing it. Haha!

I'm sure there's something else I did around the domain this week -- I just can't remember. I'm working on the October layout of the domain, and I'd like to update layouts that I'm no longer crazy about. I've been trying to write content for some sites, but haven't been very successful lately. I suppose I'm with a design muse and not a writing muse at the moment...

This is a bit of an embarrassing excuse for an update.

Cleverheart.net has one new link exchange in the Exit section. I'm also working on a new layout and a "revamp" of sorts. That will probably air a bit earlier than October, just because I can't stand when my domain is outdated.

In The End, the adopted Daiya and Fuuko (Parfait Tic) fanlisting has gone up. I'm not crazy about the layout or style, and the information section isn't even written due to time restraints. I'm thinking of scrapping what I have there, and adding a brief information page until I can write decent content sections. Affiliation is open at the moment! I'm going to revamp Immaterial as soon as possible, because I seem to have gotten myself into fanlistings a bit more than I thought I would...

Affiliation and a milestone

Cleverheart.net is now affiliated with Dogged.org! And thanks to Todd, the Tutorial page was updated as well. <3 It's a section I still need to expand. As a final notice, affiliation with the domain is now closed.

Immaterial had a code problem that I've fixed. That tends to happen when I upgrade Enthusiast.

Another month goes by

Cleverheart.net has had its layout up since the 1st of September. You can read about the materials used and thought behind it under the Domain section. Today I've updated a few of the Affiliates screenshots, and updated Uzunaru.net to Auldrant.org. The Exit page was tweaked a bit. The book reviews in the Material section has been updated with one new book review.

Locket was updated in the domain section and in the Day After Next section.
