I'd like to commission a picture from someone, I can pay a little if needed, but I'd rather it be a "oh, hey, let me practice on you / let's trade" sorta thing. I can't draw to save my flippin life, but I can make rather nifty livejournal / myspace layouts and I can also make livejournal icons. (the one I'm using is one I've made recently) and I'm more than willing to to do a trade, or several peices for this one peice I want. If anyone is interested in this, please leave a comment on my journal, or you can contact me through yahoo, celestialflo, or through aim, smokyvelvet.

thanks so so so much in advance, and mods, if this is too off topic, feel free to delete :)

A comission by
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ifus
of my fursona's alter ego, Moonbarker Osbourne. This is designed to be printed on Staples Clear Window Decals paper.

From Ifus' site
They do not have to be a feral/anthro forms but they can be. As long as it's 2 characters ONLY on one page, with paying $30, you get the window clings as well. This is my basic shading style as well for anyone who was interested in knowing what this was. Instead of the usual print, (if you want a print you have to do that yourself or pay me extra for ink and paper costs) you recieve a window cling sheet for this. Any reprints (for damages or copies) will cost you $5 (includes shipping and handling/paper/ink costs)
ALSO! PLEASE BE AWARE TO KEEP THESE AWAY FROM WATER! I will spray these with Crystal Clear sealant, but I cannot say if it will protect against ALL water. So please be aware of this. ^^;

Okay, so here it is. I was once a part of a different site but I was banned because they had no qualms telling me where my faults were (as an individual), so I thought I'd do the same for them. Ask anyone, I wasn't a troll or anything. Anyway, since then, I've been looking for a place to post art. I joined this community about a minute after seeing it as an impulse because I'm just that bored. My main goal is to post art for feedback, or to at least gain some more acquaintances to share with. I am hoping it will be possible, here. I haven't seriously drawn in a while, partly because I'm out of school, which was really the only comfortable place to draw, and also partly because having nowhere to share it, I feel less driven. As far as the "cleanliness" goes...I'm clean where it counts.

I'm still debating whether I'm really a furry, so I guess I'll just put it this way - I'm very pro-anthropomorph. Anyway, some of my family is also on LJ and they don't know I'm involved with the fandom so it's sort of risky, as I don't feel like explaining myself to them. As far as I know, my younger sister is the only one who knows I have a Livejournal, and she doesn't know my username, so it's still pretty...decent. I'm not sure why that last little bit was necessary, I just felt I should add it.

So that's the story, with any luck, this will make LJ and my days in general a little more interesting. If you want to happy the skunk, you can look at my scrapbook (assuming it's public...I have no idea how LJ works, for the most part) and maybe PM me some comments or maybe just comment on my userpic, which is my own paw's work. Not trying to plug myself here, I'm just mostly in this for the visual art.

~Skunk

I'm also taking orders for fursuits, large plushes, custom My Little Ponies, and all sorts of other things, which would be done around the end of August. (Possibly sooner in the case of the ponies.)

So if anybody's interested, feel free to drop me a line. I had been fury since 2006. The main issue was immorality but I realize the fandom is big enough that if one does not like one thing we can reinvent the fandom and carve out our own niche.

Mod Time

Alright, normally I don't have to mod post, but I think people need a little refresher, and I need to update a few things around here.

1. In regards to recent posts, posting art is fine, I have no issue with it. As long as it's PG-rated, it's fine. But please post your own work. This is not a community for showing off other people's characters, even if you really love the artist. There are plenty of communities where you can recommend someone who's a really great person to buy art from, but this is not one of them. Posts that contain characters that are not yours or were not drawn by you will receive a warning, and then deletion if they are not taken down.

2. Do NOT drag business from another community into this one. If someone was being "bad" in another community or did something that doesn't belong in THIS community...I really don't care. I consider every comm here a seperate entity, so unless someone is trolling multiple communities, leave their business in their community. Nobody like a tattletale.

3. Regarding sales posts. If you are selling something that is relevent to this community, you may post an advertisement once every two weeks. We're not an incredibly high-traffic place, so your ad will not get bumped off immediately. The exception to this rule are charity posts. If there is a fur in need and you are running an art sale/auction/whathaveyou to help them out, posting once per week as a reminder of the fundraiser is fine, since we're helping people. But in all honesty, we're not primarily a selling community. There are at least half a dozen other communities where you can let people know that you're open for commissions or selling an item, but please don't flood us. One ad is fine, but we don't need weekly updates.

4. Links. Posting art or costumes that you did under a cut in this community is fine. Linking back to a gallery where adult or yiffy art is easily found without a filter, though, is not. Please take care when you link. dA and FA links are fine, as long as they are to clean art of your own making (and because these sites employ optional filters for those that only want clean art).

Alright, that's it guys. If that was tl;dr, here's the update.

1. If you post art, it is to be by you or of your character, not random pieces.
2. No bringing in drama and tattling from other communities.
3. Sales posts can be posted once per 2 weeks; once per week if it's for charity or helping out.
4. Make sure that your links are WORKSAFE!

Have a great rest of the day, and I enjoy seeing more discussion and new members around these parts! :)

Usually, when you hear about people who dress up like life-sized stuffed animals, it's in the context of an unfriendly internet joke, a sex gag on Entourage, or an insult that ends with "yiff in hell."

But Brooklyn-based filmmaker Marianne Shaneen has spent more than two years following these people around, capturing their lives in and out of their "fursonas." She's working on a documentary film called AMERICAN FURRY: Life, Liberty and the Fursuit of Happiness.

Today on Boing Boing tv, an exclusive peek at this feature in progress. Marianne provided us with access to some of her raw footage (she's accumulated 2+ years' worth!), and we selected clips, edited, added some audio, and produced the short glimpse you'll see here.

"I'm looking for a post-production team, an editor, a couple of animators, finishing funds, and a producer," says Shaneen -- so if you'd like to get involved, email her at info@rabbitholefilms.com.

I guess I'll intro too...I'm kinda shy by nature but seeing the other intros has enticed me a bit.

Name: Mel
Age:26
Location: Chicago area
Persona(fursona?lol)I'm more of a scaly I guess it's called, Highsoar,a Quetzalcoatlus, which is a large pterosaur. It started as a persona for use in the Dinotopia fandom but it's continued to grow on me and I often find myself making up original stories or fantasies. I've always been drawn to winged creatures and badly wish I had wings and could fly. I've experienced it in planes but it would be such a different experience the other way. I want to try hang gliding or skydiving someday too.But often I find myself wanting to go between creatures lol I also can sometimes really ID with a raptor dino or a cat (I also use the persona of a Bengal cat in one online fandom although it's not what I call a persona really) or a horse or an orca(mostly while swimming). It's kinda hard to explain.
I don't find myself into the dressing up part of the fandom much but I love some of the other aspects like animal artwork and plushies and just playing around online in animal persona. Although I don't find many places for avian or scaly types.
Interests:Drawing, fanfiction, coin collecting, reading, beading, and lately I've begun to experiment with sewing plushies
Other:I like one of the other recent newbies hold to conservative politics and ideology though I'm Baptist rather than Catholic. But I get along well with pretty much everyone. My shyness is likely related to my mild autism spectrum condtion but I'm better than I used to be especially online. You can see many of my other interests by browsing my communities list and I love to make TV fandom friends hehe. For example I'm a huge CSI fan and well aware of 'Fur and Loathing'...so not the part of the fandom I'm interested in. The plushie raccoons on the bed were cute though.

I have been a fur as far as I can remember, but only found out about the fandom on March 24, 2005.
Searching for scraps of :rusty orange fur....Mm fox fur or other

I am looking for some larger scraps of rusty orange/fox fur. I know MM use to sell yards and Bladespark once bought bolts of the stuff. does anyone have some decent size scraps of the stuff. I'll pay for the scraps of course. I need two small pieces to measure at least 6x6in or one piece of 6x12in (to be used as ear tip accents). I also need one larger piece to measure 10x12 (using for a tail tip). The fur doesn't have to be the MM fox fur, i just know that was high quality stuff. Any rustic orange/fox fur will do. Pictures greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help provided. I may be making a post for a 1/2 yard of cream/beige fur if the fabric store I am to chock out in completely out of stock.. Im on a 2- 2 1/2 week time crunch @_@

Well when it comes down to a matter of having a costume, or having the money to put into a house that we are oh so close to being able to buy (!!!) guess which one I am choosing! ;)

The house we are currently working to buy has a work shop out back AND plenty of extra work space inside as well, so in letting go of my latest and greatest costume, we will be able to bring you MORE costumes in the future!! :)

http://www.furbid.ws/cgi-bin/auction/item.pl?item=232344261

She's gently used, only been worn for FWA and Megaplex this year, as well as the Easter Egg hunt at church. And that's ALL! The costume WILL come with brand new hand paws and foot paws built to fit the buyer. She's got a low reserve (because I want her to go for what she is worth!) but it is not unreasonable.

Please comment if you have any questions!! And do feel free to pass around this link if you know anyone looking for a good fox costume. :)

Hello everyone. I found out about your group through about six or seven of my friends' profiles.
My name here is Skylarhusky, but I have gone by Sylverwolfe the Heavy-Metal Werewolf in other circles.
I do not really consider myself a furry anymore. I owe discovering it to the fact that my favorite currently running TV program at the time, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation had a show about furries. I got bored one day and the rest was history.
Since that time, August 16, 2004 I have been increasingly disappointed and disgusted with the fandom and I am just about all but finished with it.
I decided to come here to see if I would meet others like me here. I have mascot costumes, but I do not post pictures of them anymore. After getting my privates and backside groped a number of times AC07 I am not really interested in people here finding my profile from my mascot costume pictures.

A little about me in case you do not click and look at my profile:
Name: Skylarhusky
Location: Near Houston, Texas
Occupation: Research and Development Chemist in an oilfield specialty chemical company.
Orientation: Straight
Relationship Status: Casually dating a girl with whom I am enamored.
Religion: Serious Roman Catholic
Political ideology: Staunch Conservative Republican (Some friends say "Reactionary" better describes me.)
Height: 6 feet (Out of mascots) 6' 8" in Wolf mascot and 6' 4" in Husky Mascot.
Weight: I need to lose weight.
Other activities and accomplishments: Lay Minister at my parish, Knight of Columbus, Eagle Scout, Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry (One of three in my graduating class!)
Furry Personae:
Sylverwolfe: The result of an highly illegal and immoral experiment in Gene Splicing where an Human Male of Nordic and Western European ancestry and a Male Eastern Timber Wolf were crossed.
Skylarhusky: An anthropomorphic Alaskan Husky.

As you might imagine my position with the fandom on issues that are currently hot political debate, or those which I find immoral and understand why I feel the way I do about the fandom.

But I am just like you guys. All I want is for a convention to be completely G rated out in public. Private room parties can be anything goes, but I want a semblance of decency out in public there.
Until such time arrives I have removed myself from the convention scene. It costs too much money to go and put up with that which morally and mentally affronts me.

Anything you might wish to know, just ask me.

Hey! Just thought I'd join and introduce myself. I originally made a very similar community as this back in '04 but that one has pretty much flopped and since this one seems to be doing better, I thought I'd join this one! Woo.

But yeah, I go by Fluff(y) or Flyingfluff in this fandom and tend to come and go depending on how busy my life gets. If you'd like to see any of my art, I do have a deviantart account here. A lot of the art up there is rather out-dated, but hopefully I'll be able to change that relatively soon.
