Basic Rules and Information </p>
1) Challenges will be posted on a weekly basis. New challenges will appear every Tuesday evening.
a) Just because new challenges will be posted every week DOES NOT mean that you can't go into the archives and write about an older challenge. If a previously used challenge strikes your fancy, feel free to write about it. Just make sure to clarify that the challenge you are writing about is not a current one (I will explain how to do this later). b) Stories can be of ANY LENGTH. Your works can span from a drabble or poem to a short novella; anything is acceptable, as long as it pertains to a challenge (and is spell-checked, which I will cover later). c) In regards to (b), ONLY COMPLETED STORIES may be posted here. If your story is rather long and you don't finish it until the next challenge, that is completely A-OK. d) Stories will be archived by author. Challenges will be archived, as well.
2) All posts must remain on topic. On-topic posts include only those with a story regarding a challenge. I will not tolerate (in any way, shape, or form) any type of PETTY DRAMA. I will not accept arguing or story bashing. Keep in mind that I am the moderator, so ALL POSTS GO THROUGH ME before anyone else in the community gets to see them. If you are making an off-topic post, I will deny the post and reply with why that message was deleted.
3) Please keep copyrights in mind when posting a story. It is by no means acceptable to plagiarize another's work. If you choose to do a crossover or a story based on someone else's idea, please make sure to give them credit. It is also handy to keep in mind that you do not own Clay Aiken (some people think they do), nor do you have any rights to the American Idol trademarks and symbols. We are just highly creative fans.
4) Two words: spell check. You might think it silly of me to explain this rule; but then again, you haven't seen some of the butchered horrors I've received in the past. Just as an example, the sentence: "cLaY wRaPpEd HiS aRmS aRoUnD mE lIIIkE WOHOAH!!!11111" is not an acceptable sentence. Nor am I your personal editor. Please review your work before submitting it. And if you think my example can be deemed comparable to Shakespeare, please click the "leave this community" link above.
5) While some people believe that all their stories should involve a girl being ravaged by Clay (and come on, we love it, too), there are other members who might not find it acceptable. Therefore, I simple ask that you RATE YOUR STORY as G, PG, R, or NC-17. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN R AND NC-17! Stories rated R have some sexual content, whereas stories rated NC-17 are basically smut. Please keep this in mind when rating your story so as to avoid confusion.
6) Your posts should follow the following format for convenience in archiving:
Challenge: (The challenge number and theme goes here)
Title: The title of your story
Word Count: (how many words are in your story)
Rating: The rating (Either G, PG, R, or NC-17)
Author's note: Anything you feel you should say about your story

7) In regards to slash, I don't mind if you want to write about it. Just make sure to say that it's a slash fic in the Author's Note.
That's it for the rules. Now, on to the community pimping:
