We are a retro icon challenge community devoted to classic hollywood. This means our challenges focus on 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's and 1960's hollywood. Themes include: movies, stars, directors, screenwriters, techniques, retro tv shows/stars & more! Please read all the rules and guidelines below prior to joining. To suggest a theme, comment here. | + No animated icons (that's why it's called stillness) + Enter the amount of icons stated in the challenge post + Use only the caps provided unless otherwise stated in the post + One cap per icon and one icon per cap unless otherwise stated in the post + Icons must be 100x100 pixels and conform to all Livejournal standards + DO NOT take any contest icons without the creator's permission + No hotlinking + You cannot submit icons used in other/previous challenges + DO NOT post your entries on any other website until the winners are announced + Members who submit entries MUST vote in order to be eligible to win Please Note: moderators enter challenges occasionally. They create their icons prior to viewing other entries and they do not participate in voting so it is completely fair. |

| + You do not have to be a member to vote but you do have to be a livejournal user + Anonymous votes will be disqualified + Please vote for your 1st, 2nd and 3rd place choices and/or any special categories if a mod has indicated so + Please vote based on quality and creativeness, NOT on preference of cap choice + Do NOT vote for yourself or tell anyone to vote for you + A "Mod's Choice" may be chosen from the non-placing icons if there are more than 20 entries + A "Critic's Choice" may be chosen by the member who won 1st place in the previous challenge How It Works: the first place winner each week becomes a "critic". The next round of voting, the critic votes for three icons just as they normally do but then the critic will leave a comment with their choice of one icon they feel is deserving of some special attention. They may explain why they chose that icon, but it's not required. + An extension may occur if we have ties or we may have a "tie-breaker" + Submitters MUST vote in order to be eligible to win + Only 1 vote per user and you CANNOT vote for your own icon. Creating second accounts to vote for your own icons is considered cheating and will result in your being banned from the community. |

| Members vote for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd place choices. Votes will be counted using the popular weighted sytem. A first place vote earns 3 points. A second place vote earns 2 points and a third place vote earns 1 point. An icon's points will be totaled and the three top winners will be the three with the most points.
