classicalshare, a community for sharing all sorts of classical music. From single-voice plainsong to the full orchestral whammy, from mediaeval compositions to modern film scores, from long-lost opuses to famous composers' best-loved works, and everything in between. Please abide by the rules to help make this a friendly, successful community. :)For easy navigation of posts and to help search for specific composers etc., here is the tags page for the community.
[1] All posts must contain links to music downloads, unless you are requesting something (see [6]). Discussion of music is always appreciated and encouraged, as long as there's music offered! A list of useful hosting sites is included further down this page.
[2] Please do not promote communities and whatnot here unless it is strictly related to classical music and a moderated has given permission. Spam sucks, y'know?
[3] This should go without saying, but no bashing of composers, musicians, fellow community members and so on.
[4] All posts are to be locked, so you need to join the community to get the music. Locking should be done automatically if I get the settings right.
[5] Please use the tags feature when posting, as this makes it easy to track down previous relevant posts. Composers and perfomers would be useful tags, and possibly some description of the type of music, e.g. opera, baroque, violin concerto, etc.
[6] As an addendum to [1], requests are allowed within reason, i.e. don't ask for the complete works of Bach, expecting it by lunchtime!
[7] Please support contemporary composers and musicians by buying their CDs. The purpose of this community is not to be the source for your entire classical music collection - spend your money on these amazingly talented people, they're worth it!

strangefrontier who collects requiems, loves HUUUUGE orchestral sounds, and appreciates the scientific and mathematical elegance in music theory (but doesn't necessarily know anything about it). She still plans on "learning" to "play" the violin, but for now settles for making tenor-type noises while listening to Carmen.For listening to classical music on the web, I recommend BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM
