This is a community for classic actor and actress role play. Come and join as your favorite classic film star. Since this is a new community, most of your favorite stars are still available! The timeframe of the RPG is between the 1920's through the early 1960's.
I really miss this community and wish that we could start it up again or start an new community for those old members still interested and new members as well? If anyone is interested please comment. I may just try and start up a new community of my own because I really miss this game it was a lot of fun to post and learn more about the golden age of hollywood and all the wonderful people who made it happen.

All right, I know it's been summertime but the community has went into a downward spiral. So I'm taking stock of who is active and who is not, so EVERYONE MUST FILL OUT THE POLL BELOW. I just wanted to post to let the mods know that Bobby's journal is going to be going on Hiatus. I've recently had to move and my current place of residence does not have internet access... yet.. we're working on it. Hopefully it wont be too much longer, but I just wanted to post and let everyone know because I think I'm getting close to my 3 week mark? Take Care! -Marie

A lot of really nice things are going on. I got to go to my first movie set. A guy named Frank Taylor had been coming to a show our band 'the Suttletones' had been doing at a local hotel in Reno. This came to inviting us to his set. It turned out he was filming his movie 'the Misfits' in the area. I was so nervous getting to go see all these movie stars but at the same time tried to absorb everthing that was going on on the set. I even got to sit down with Clark Gable and talk about the college I had gone to for a year, Northwestern. Only thing I wished had happened would have been to meet Marilyn Monroe. I caught a glimpse of her on the set but it was from a distance. She is such an amazing and beautiful woman. Later that night I called home and told my parents every detail of my day.
After Reno we got booked at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. We got to play with some great show business people. Tony Bennett headlined the main showroom and we shared the lounge with the talented New Orleands trumpeter Al Hirt and his band. We didn't really get to play peak show times but we still created a buzz. Even Mr. Hirt and Mr. Bennett would stay and listen when we played. Below is a picture of 'the Suttletones'.
Now it appears I am going to start my solo career. Manager Bobby Roberts (works with Pierre Cossette) is wanting to sign me, and not the Suttletones. He is talking about making records and movies! I can tell he is already working on things because he is saying he could get me an audition for George Burns, who has a reputation for discovering new talent. Only thing I need to do is work on getting myself and my accompaniest Scott (from the Suttletones) out of a contract we had with Frenchy, the manager we had in Chicago. I am really hoping he works with us so we can get things going with Bobby and Mr. Burns. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi there! I'd like to play Edie Sedgwick, I know that she wasn't technically a "Classic" film star, but she was in movies and is somewhat of a cult superstar. Anyways if thats not in the rules I understand, but if it is this is my journal for Edie, let me know!
I know I've been absent around these parts lately. But finally, I have updated the members list and was I quite surprised! Half the community has not updated in 3 weeks or more. All members listed need to update within the next week.

I just had this wild and crazy idea... since I actually enjoy warming my fingers up as Charlie on this community, and would like to continue to post here, I find myself needing and wanting something to do... and it seems like others do as well.
I think what we are missing is a collective place for players to post... events seem to happen but at an indefinite location. I propose that we create communities that host ongoing events that last for an allotted time, such as, a two day period for a party, and continual posts or "conversations" addressed to other players in attendance, et cetera... it would indeed require multiple, or just perhaps a couple, of participants, who were willing to banter back and forth for a period...
Anyhow! My crazy idea was to build a community for myself to "invite" others to visit via the evenings community. So, I did... but before I go any further, I want to know if anyone would ever be interested in starting an evening at said community in the future? Perhaps everyone could even have their own "place" to maintain and therefore have multiple venues where perhaps non-historical drama could ensue?
I think that I'll have to put this journal up for adoption, unfortunatley I can't juggle two journals and mod duties (which I would like to devote more time to.)
Hey does anyone have any good ideas for the community? I know it's been quiet lately, but we need to add a little life here. I quite like the idea Donald had proposed here,if anyone wanted to started something along those lines, please feel free to use the classic_evening community.
