Community Profile

Clark County is a crime drama based role-playing community that takes place in Las Vegas, NV. Characters from nearly every fandom are welcome as are original characters (OCs) that are willing to play their roles in Sin City. All characters are to play in the crime drama realm (ie. characters from legal dramas can not expect to run entire trials). Even characters who have exited their series (ie. Sara Sidle from CSI, Jason Gideon from Criminal Minds) are welcome.

Each player has complete creative control of their character with the exception of killing them. Ending a character's run in the roleplay must be approved by admin. Every opportunity should be afforded for another person to play rather than ending a character's existence. Playing a character as close to the personality we've seen on the show is preferred, but again, each player has creative control. It is possible for a character to be bisexual or homosexual behind closed doors that we aren't privy to on the show. However Grissom suddenly becoming a pimp and Bones his ho is not a feasible change. So let's keep things reasonable please. If in doubt, ask in the out of character site After Hours.

 

After Hours: This is the place where we get together to talk. Not only is the ooc community where we can socialize and plot, but it is also where any changes to the community as well as roll calls are posted. We can talk about cases and/or storylines we'd like to do in the roleplay, as well as our personal lives. It is also definitely the place where we let others know that we'll be missing and when we're back (if not already established in the initial 'will be gone' post). All players must check After Hours weekly. All new players should make this their first post, introducing themselves.

As for posting in the roleplay, sure it'd be great for no thread to go unanswered, but reality is that life happens. When possible try and update at least a few times a week -2 tags a week minimum with extenuating circumstances aside. If you're leaving on any extended period just let us know in After Hours. Any absence longer than two weeks should be discussed for a temporary replacement unless approved by all other players.

Take heed when applying for additional characters. No more than three will be afforded to any one member. Players will need to be active (read: doing more than the minimum) in the community with their character to be approved for more. Every character in the game must post at least the minimum required in Clark County or they can be individually removed from the community.

Once approved, you will need to create the character's journal for playing if you don't already have one. A bio is required to be posted in After Hours, specifically covering how the character is entering the game --for canon characters, where in canon (season, episode) the character is starting from.

Once you have joined Clark County and After Hours with this journal, please make sure that any entries not relevant to the community (ie. if you use this character journal for other role-plays) are locked accordingly (filter your entries). All cases/storylines (threads with other players) are to be posted in Clark County and any character reflections or posts not relevant to others in the game (ie. meme) should go in the character journal. Long entries should go behind a lj-cut (ask in After Hours or check LJ help for assistance if you are unfamiliar with how to do one).

Age: 18+only. Many adult themes dictate the age requirement. Maybe the show is ok for minors but we're going above and beyond what the show gives us or what would be the point really? An age statement must be emailed with all applications. –There will be no exceptions.

*Original characters that bear any influence on someone else's character (ie someone deciding to create an old flame or relative) must have the other player's approval before the character can be accepted. Unless of course it's the player who is creating the OC for their own character.
