AboutPurpose: Our purpose here is to provide a place to post and read well-written AFI/Het fiction.
Rules: Please read them ALL and thouroughly, before you even THINK of posting, if you don't you'll just fuck up.
1.)Here you will not find any Mary-Sues or little woe-is-me save me Davey/Adam/Hunter/Jade/Smith fics. According to the fanfiction dictionary a Mary-Sue is: Any original female character who is too perfect, too extreme, or otherwise badly done. There is no real hard and fast standard for what constitutes a Mary-Sue, however, the mods feel that self-injurers (cutters, brusiers, that like) more often than not are in this category, or someone who has suffered a lot and "must be saved" by the band. These types of characters sicken the soul, promote vapid and unhappy images in the minds of readers, and, quite normally, the heads of the dumb-ass little girls who write them. They will NOT be tolerated here AT ALL, no discussion. The male equivalent of a Mary-Sue is called a Marty-Sam, and we don't like those little fuckers either. ^_^ For all other fanfiction terms, please go here fanfiction dictionary, I assure you it is wonderful and helpful, duckies.
2.)We are interested in works in good het fanfiction. Anything that would be considered badly written, will be deleted by a moderator in the que. That's not saying grammar mistakes don't happen,if you screw up with that once in awhile it's fine, really, you're all only human and grammar check doesn't catch everything, but we DO keep an eye on things, so literary atrocities will NOT be slipping by any of us. Moderated posting access is granted to everyone.
3.)If you submit a story MUST leave one email address with This Post as a comment, so that we can contact you if we find a problem with it and we can email you to EXPLAIN that problem, so you can rework the story. for example.
4.)AUs and whatnot are totally acceptable we just ask that you keep in mind that these are AFI het fictions, meaning that a member of AFI should be a main character.
5.)While each of the mods here are extremely big slash fans we do NOT allow solely slash pairing stories here, sorry. :( But if you ARE looking for some hella-rad slash fiction, then we recomend this site with only the highest regard. AFISlash.com Xine is awesome, let her know that, y'all. NOTE You may certainly involve slash in your stories, but as a side plot and NOT a main story, as mentioned prior, there is already a wonderful, wonderful, fantastic, lovely, ambrosial, website dedicated to those particular pairings, so please, don't attempt to post those here, they'll be denied, kids.
6.)You MUST have a disclaimer in every chapter of your story. EVERY SINGLE ONE. We're not trying to disrespect anyone, we're all just bored students and such, and you NEED to make sure that you're letting everyone know this so no one gets their ass sued. Okay? Okay.
7.)There's been a little controversy over whether it's okay or not to use the bands real relationships (girlfriends, wives, whatever the fuck) in stories. Here it's not. It's a bit of an unspoken rule you just leave those things alone, fiction, kids, remember, fiction, so please leave real life out of it in that particular way, kay?
8.)When you submit a story please submit it in HTML format and use the following template when submitting them. Everything after your title,summary and disclaimer should go under a lj-cut. Just copy and paste the template below into your entry. If you have any questions about this feel free to ask.
Simply take out the first underscore (the _) in the lj-cut tag when posting.
9.)Okay and one last thing: DO NOT REPOST, COPY, OR PLAGERIZE ANY OF THE MATERIALS THAT YOU FIND ON CLANDESTINELOST!!!
