I'm going to be drawing today on Ustream starting at 1pm PDT, and as usual, a Samanayr will be drawn live and given away to a lucky random viewer! All you need to do to enter the draw is pop by the show and log into your Ustream account so that I can see you in the chat and know you were there.

Although there is a chat, it is G-rated and closely moderated by me. The show password is pickledfigs!

200th Sam design contest

Not the 200th Sam overall, but the 200th one since I started giving them ID numbers XD You can come enter your design over at the Samanayr forum, and the entry post also has more information about rules and prizes. The winner will have their design become the 200th Sam!

Thanks to the awesome Jennalyn (from the Samanayr forums, not PI), the Samanayr website now has a searchable database and other awesome features :D

This is a very exciting update to the Samanayr website, and I'd like to give a huge thanks to Jennalyn and to everyone who helped out with the testing :D

Although this is super cool and I can't wait to have everyone playing around with it, please read the following rules and info first:

- Each person can only have one database account.
- Username must be exactly what you want placed in each Samanayr's 'Owner' category. If you are unsure what that may be and you already have a Samanayr, please search the database until you find one with your name. For example, the database lists an owner as 'Jennalyn' next to several Sams. If I made my username 'Jenn', I would be unable to access the records of Sams entered under 'Jennalyn'.
- Please do not enter Samanayrs without an ID into the database. I'm currently doing this and assigning IDs as I go along.
- Once you've registered your account, all of your Samanayrs, Songs, and items should automatically appear in your member control center. If there's any issues, please post to the bug thead (linked below)!
- A Samanayr owner can edit all of their Samanayr's info except for name, so if you see any errors with the data of your own Samanayrs you can edit it yourself! For errors on other Samanayrs and for issues that you can't fix yourself (eg Samanayr name, username problems), please post in the bug thread on the forum:

Geocities closing down

As you may or may not know, Geocities is closing and will be removing all Geocities webpages before the end of the year. Now's the time to move your webpage somewhere else!

In order to keep track of inactive Samanayrs and Songs hosted on Geocities, there's a post on the forum to collect the info for Geocities Samanayrs and a little subforum set up for Geocities Songs to be hosted in. If your Geocities pages do go down before you can get your Sam stuff off of them, hopefully you'll be able to find their info there.

Samanayrs on Ustream

If, like me, you're stuck at home with nothing better to do tonight, you could watch me draw Samanayrs on Ustream XD I did this for the first time last night and it was a lot of fun! I'll also be drawing a Samanayr live to give away to a random viewer. This was last night's Sam:

Samanayrs are still going strong, and I recently held a festival with various events. Although most of the events are now over, breedings and customs will still be open for the next week! There's a thread in the forum with more info on both!

I haven't been announcing events here because I'm not sure how many people actually read this community, but if there's a few of you around I'll try to remember to post things here too XD

The first Samanayr expedition has been scheduled! An expedition is a chance to send your Samanayrs out into the world with their little carry-baskets to see what they can collect. Items that they find can be traded to the Sharians at the Expedition HQ for various items. Right now only Modiems are available, but since a breeding round is coming up soon, they'll be useful!

You never know, your Samanayr might even make a friend who decides to come live with you as well!

At the start of the expedition, I'll be posting a grid, and you choose the square from the grid you'd like your Samanayr to search. Every 15 minutes, you'll be able to search an additional square, and so on until they've all been searched. At the end, what was in each square will be revealed! Many of the squares will be empty, but some will contain items.

New Song of the Rainbow
The winners of the design contest have been chosen, and there's a new Song of the Rainbow!

These lovely mares were discovered (from left to right) by dray, Cassiadawn, Origami_Dragon, and Harroway! With a Kirin stallion, two Lamanayr, one Desert, and one Samanayr mare, this is certainly a varied Song. They should be producing some awesome foals sometime soon :D

Monthly(?) semi-custom draw!
To get back into the Samanayr habit for good, I'm holding the first of what I hope will be many monthly semi-custom draws! To enter, all you have to do is make a post on the forum. Good luck!

Hello, LJ folks! I'm back in the Samanayr swing of things for now, and I'm trying to get back into the habit of announcing contests to everyone, not just the people on PI XD;

Right now there's a design contest that you can enter at the Samanayr forums. My little Kirin stallion is looking for some lovely mares! More information is available on the post at the forum.

I've failed NaNoWriMo quite spectacularly, and decided to go with NaNoSamMo - at least 30 Samanayrs will be finished during the month of November! I've got 12 finished so far, so I'm slightly ahead XD

I'm giving you guys the jump on this because, quite frankly, for sticking with me through my vast incompetence and procrastination, you deserve access to it first XD

It's a brand shiny new Samanayr forum! All Samanayr-related stuff will now be taking place there, everything from breedings to Song registration to the new expedition and modification system. Soon I'll also be assigning ID numbers to all existing Samanayrs.. but that's not for a while yet.

The forum should be set so that only you have to activate your account, not me (I'm Sushidragon on the forum). You can post on all the boards under the 'General' category - check out Samanayr Discussion for an update on the breeding pickups from something absurd like June 2006 that I never finished XD;

Well, I have finally moved my Songs, gotten all my Sams posted (though I probably don't have them all registered) and have formed some new Songs (who are looking for members!)

First off, I have gotten pretty behind on updates and I have lost of a lot information on my Songs. I'm missing URLs, emails, new foals, and I think a few mares have even left my Songs. If you have mares in my Songs (or that have left my Songs) please reply here with anything I need to know. For some reason I lost half the members list of Burning Rainbows and the entire foal list, so I just took a guess at who was foaled, so I'm sure I'm missing some foals. If you have Sams in my Songs or foals from my songs that I'm missing information on (or missing all together!) please reply with their names, URLs, genders and parents. I also have made almost all my Songs partially-open, and so I just listed all the mares who didn't belong to me as needing permission (except for those that I knew previously who didn't need permission) so if you'd like your mare's status changed, just reply here ^_^

And then there are my mares, who may be in Songs and I just plum forgot! If I have a mare in your Song and she's not listed as being in a song, just reply here when the proper information and I'll get her updated as soon as possible (which I will siriously try to make it soon, I tend to um, forget as you probably know *shame*) OR, if you fancy a mare of mine and would like to invite her into a Song, that's great too! Most of the stats tables aren't updated (*SHAME*) so I'll just give you a list of my single mares and stallions (I do plan on making Songs with my single stallions, but just didn't get to them today.) ( THE SINGLES )

And then I have started quite a few new Songs! Most are looking for new members ^__^ Shining Snowfall has no mares at all actually (SHOCK) that handsome fuzzy fella needs some ladies! Song of the Blazing Sands is listed as "invitation only" because of the member's unique features, and I'd like to have Sams like that to join, to keep with the theme. Most Songs you will notice have quite a few members that don't require permission, and I think there are only two that are all permission-needed. A few of the Songs are running along a theme, but most aren't. If you have a mare (or mares) that would like to join, just reply here with all the proper information! (name, parents, permission, email and so on.)

If you notice anything with my Sam's stats that is wrong (as in birth names and birth parents) just let me know and I'll get it changed :) I've been kind of out of the loop for a while so I imagine I have a few things that need changing! So I apologize now for anything that's wrong. I'm having quite a lot of fun with this so don't be surprised if I get motived and start a few more Songs (so if you fancy any of my stallions, let me know ^_^) Thanks eveyrone!

Hey everyone, long time no see! I'm slowly getting back into Samanayrs.. not quite back to the 'monthly breedings' stage yet, but working my way there, hopefully! Or at least to 'more than once a year' breedings XD

One of the things I've been working on is a list of all of the different Samanayr mutations, or 'traits' as I prefer to call them now. Here's the list so far - please ignore the formatting of the page, since I need to do an overhaul of the Samanayr site!
