Silly noob question
How does one drop missions these days? Specifically ourobouros missions? I don't have the account active for much longer this summer, my main guy is a troller, and I can't get past this one boss on my own. I'm also only on at odd hours so I can't get help from my freinds and it's not like I'm gaining xp so I won't level past the difficulty of the mish. Any thoughts?

Tips for "Stop 30 Fir Bolg entering the door"?
I remember there were one or more posts about how to do this mish successfully. At the time I think I decided screw it, I'll always just drop. But now I am feeling more ambitious and would like to learn how to reliably succeed at it.
Can anyone point me to the old posts or repost instructions? Or, even better, offer to help me out with that mish or the whole flashback on Guardian when I get it again?
Last night on my new level 37 plant/therm troller I decided to work on some of the defeat badges for the Geas accolade by doing flashbacks. I didn't realize it ended in this mish, and I decided to try to solo it. I couldn't remember if I was supposed to try to go around clockwise or counter-clockwise and didn't know what the central point of reference for that should be (the door, I guess?), so instead I just went after mobs and hoped I could take them out fast enough that the mobs that ran for the door wouldn't actually add up to much.
At the end, 25 went through, but I passed! I was pleased since my toon was exemped down to 29 and thus didn't have her pet and without it she is rather lacking in damage. Also, I didn't take some of the sleep/immob plant powers, so she is even possibly a bit short in the control department. Was I just really lucky, or is this a reasonable approach to take solo, that maybe would work 75% of the time? I'd expect my scrapper and blaster to be able to mow down mobs much more quickly, so it seems like maybe it would work for them.
But if I knew what order mobs started running for the door, that would be even more helpful.

The Push to 50
I have 2 characters in their low 40s (Foudre Bleue - Virtue & Dark Rad Lad - Triumph). Who knows when I'll ever get 2 more toons this high so I want to be sure I hit all the good stuff on the Push to 50.
I have yet to enter Rikti War Zone, but I have done one ITF. That's about all I know for the 35+ crowd.
So, what are the must do's?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Edit: Should note that Foudre is a lvl 43 scrapper and Dark Rad Lad is a Level 41 defender

Baby New Year
My search-fu seems a bit off, so if this has been answered elsewhere I apologize.
A friend of mine brought to my attention that if the level spread on the Baby New Year mission was too high, he wasn't getting the option for the Candy Canes on his higher level toon.
Example,
2 person team. Lvl 50 and lvl 7. Running lvl 7's mission. Complete mission. Lvl 7 gets the option for the Candy Cane award, lvl 50 doesn't. Instead, the option on the menu is grayed out saying "Too high level to receive this award."
Has anyone else noticed this?
I've dual boxed the mission a couple of times, but I've had my lowbie SKed up.
PS / zomg 2 posts in 2 days... I'm a posting maniac! lulz :)

Mercedes Sheldon Arcs
Bring people. Like 15-20. Especially the last mission.
They apparently have this new "ambush you until you die from it" mechanic they're trying out.

Silly question, but I just wanted to clarify... Do you only get merits if it's your own story arc that you're doing?
11/20/08 02:47 am
Hours to get a specific rare?
quasadu helpfully provided this link detailing how many merits each TF is.
So, what is the multiplier to convert merits into the datamined average speed for TFs? Katie Hannon gives 7 merits. Is the multiplier 4, meaning 28 minutes is average?
Also, I did log into test, and looked into the cost of the Miracle and Numina uniques. It looked like they cost about 240 merits, or about the equivalent of a dozen random recipes.
Anyway, if the merit-into-minutes multiplier is only 4, that means it would take about 4*240 = 4*4*60 = 16*60 = 16 "average" hours on TFs to get it. If the multiplier is higher....
Are purples still only drops from critters?
[ETA] Oh, I forgot to check, but I expect the answer is no: Can you sell recipes back to a merit vendor and get back merits for them? [/ETA]

What do we know about I13 merits?
I forget, is I13 out of closed beta, meaning that now there is public information?
Can we still choose random recipes as TF rewards?
Do we know how many merits various TFs are worth? Is it keyed just off the TF, or are team size and toon levels or other factors involved?
Do we know how many merits are needed for various recipes?
I see some people say they are holding off on TFs until I13 comes out. I am trying to figure out if I want to do the same. I am thinking maybe just the Shard TFs can wait.

aaaannnnnddddd... We're Back!
Arameah Azielle is back on duty! Shadesiren, Lil' Black Cat and Siren Star, too!
And look out villains, Technic-Lee and her robots might even venture out of her lab to wreak a little havok ^_^ I'm so excited!
After a long hiatus, looks like hubby and I are finally coming back to City of Heroes for a while. We were playing World of Warcraft (we bounce around a LOT, before WoW it was DDO, and before that, I think EQ2). Hubby was finally willing to consider a change, since he has two months till the new WoW expansino comes out. Now he can explore all the new stuff that has been added while we were away.
So, I'm looking at the time travel stuff (we've been on since it came out, but haven't had much chance to explore it) and that roman stuff...
I just need to find a little more time off work to PLAY. Guess I know what I'm doing most of Tuesday!
Any advice on what's most fun to try first?

Ghost Widow patron arc...
My Mastermind on Infinity, Suki Ai, has reached the point where she can do her parton arc, and I'm looking for a little help with it. My cable and CoH account both go baibai on Thursday (Or Friday, not sure...), so I'd like to get this done before then. I'm thinking Sunday afternoon/evening. Would that work for people? Suki is 43, so that would be the mission level.

Croatoa mission question
So, this question is moot as I'm on my last week of CoX and my first day of classes and I've already failed the mish, however...
This is a mission from a fellow by the name of Skip in Croatoa and is a Fir Bolg story arc, somewhere in the late 20's. It's the final mish and ol' Skip asks you to stop a ritual. The parameters of the mish are to not let 30 Fir Bolg get through this awesome looking stone archway. There isn't a time specified, no counter or anything. There's just a large fielded/wooded area with Fir Bolg mobs and occasionally a pack of them will storm the gate. Is this designed for purely team play? Is there some secret to stopping the waves of Bolg? Do you need to clear out all the stationary mobs in order to beat the level? Are the ones running for the gate the stationary mobs in flight or are they timed spawns to keep you busy? I tried looking around for some help but mostly got descriptions of the text which was not terribly helpful. Am I just a noob?

I have a problem.
Some of you know by now that I have an awful connection and it doesn't look like it's going to be fixed anytime soon. I can play city of heroes as long as I have a tolerant team leader who's willing to deal with constantly re-inviting me.
That's not the problem. The problem is, I really want a cape on one of my characters. I've been keeping his cape mission for him since level twenty (he's twenty four now) but I haven't dared do it, because anytime I log in to try it, I disconnect a few times before even reaching the mission entrance and I'm afraid my disconnects will make me fail midway. A couple dozen times.
So I was um. I was kinda hoping someone would help me clear real quick it some night. It's on Virtue.

Uh oh
From Posi:
"Mission Architect is whatever text you enter, on the specific map you call (and we have over 1000 different maps in the game), with AT LEAST one objective, but more likely more, with the ability to have allied NPCs (you want to rescue Statesman in the beginning of the map and have him fight WITH you the rest of the way? Done). There are even some objective types going into mission maker that we didn't even have access to AS DEVELOPERS until Issue 12. There are over 100 different things you can customize in the story arc, and most of those have multiple choices to pick from."
There goes all my spare time. (And I get dibs on the Alternate Universe Emo Lord Recluse mission ally! "The Grandeville Spire is just so... tall... it makes me hear everything... you just don't understand what that's like! /em cutself" )

I13 Q&A at PAX.
EDIT: This is about the mission creator.
Crossposted from my SGs forum. Originally posted by Bayne:
I made a video of the Q&A, but I can't download it until I get home tonight (Sunday).
A few of the highlights:
Missions are going to be both "across shards" (servers) and across CoH and CoV.
Missions can be single, stand alone types or story arcs.
There will be a 5 star (maybe changed to thumbs up/thumbs down after testing) rating system that players vote by.
There will be an extensive search engine for looking up missions.
Three types of categories were discussed: Quick Play, Developers Choice, and Hall of Fame.
There will be player rewards (XP, etc.) for playing a mission, and author rewards (unlockable things like maps and special NPCs) for getting missions into the Dev's Choice and possibly other categories. Dev's Choice missions were emphasized as "full XP, full Influence" which suggests the other categories have limits placed upon the rewards.
When designing a mission the contact, zone, map for the mission itself, and a lot of other variables can all be selected. NPC behavior can also be selected (foe, friend, or rogue that fights everyone).
Mission maps cannot be edited. There are over 1000 maps to choose from including some of the less friendly ones like the layer cake cave map.
Cutscenes will not be implemented due to how hard it is to use the build tool in its current form.
Player SG only missons will be a "maybe" for launch. The "maybe" sounded more like a "no" from Hero 1's tone of voice. This basically means missions are available for everyone to run if they want.
Missions are stored on your PC until you release them to the MA server. This gives you the ability to test them (single player) to make sure they work the way you intend them be.
Each person will be able to have 5 or 6 (number to be set during testing) missions on the MA server. This was not clear if it counted a story arc as 1 mission or not.

/Dark possibility ever?
So I was finishing the mission from Willy Starbuck "Defeat Gang Leader and Guards" where you have to rescue the mystic. I've done this mission several times. I always want the Mystic as a pet for longer than one mission. She's awesome for a level 10-15 contact. Her powers? She's a grav/dark troller. I want one! She looks pretty cool too. Reminds me of a crantz toon for some reason :^)
( Clickie to see a pic of my toon and the mystic )
So this just makes me want a /dark troller even more than the Carnie Master Illusionists. Has there been any word whether this is a possibility or a never will happen with the powerset proliferation? Can I keep my hopes up or should I just file this along with that yellow sports car of "will always want, will never have?"
Anyone else out there longing for a /dark troller? If so, what do you see as the ultimate primary/dark combination?

Mission Builder
Ok.. I know I'm going to sound like a complete N00b here, but what the heck, I don't hang out on the boards much and the announcements are a bit confusing. Couple of questions:
a] is the mission builder live yet? b] if yes, then how does one access it?
Does one have to be in-game [and where] to start building, or is it accessible from outside, as in server/character selection panel.
Plus, is there a FAQ on it yet? [save me asking any more dumb-ass questions].
Gratz in advance.

Mission Creator ... SG arcs
I know everyone is really excited about the Mission Creator (endless new content! Weeeee!!!) and I've already seen a lot of people posting about "omg origin arcs for this and that and the other toon I have". :) Can't wait to play those.
I had a thought yesterday when talking over the Chibi arcs that are going to appear, though. If a SG wants to do arcs relating to their whole SG, not just individual members, then it occurred to me that to maximize the good votes for arcs, it would be good for the SG to designate a "Mission Architect". Granted, we don't have all the details for how that voting is going to be and all, but it looked like if a single person got votes for several arcs, then they would unlock new things to add to their arcs -- such as Heros and Archvillains.
I don't know about you, but I'd kind of like to cap off some of my arcs with Ms. Liberty and her six longbow ambushes.
Am I making sense here?
