Pulled forward into her own future by a temporal/mechanical glitch, the AX member known as Johanna Sinclair was recruited by the Ministry of Holy Affairs' Special Operations Division when it was learned that she had developed strange abilities as the result of her jaunt through time. Now a Special Expeditionary Marshal (AX callsign: ANOMALY), Johanna distorts time around her to painful (and often fatal) effect against those she faces.

With the troubles currently plaguing Paragon City (not to mention the recent Rikti invasion), the Ministry has dispatched Johanna to lend much-needed tactical support to the other AX members there, where she also acts as AX liaison to the local superhero group known as the Twilight Vanguard.

Johanna's other AX adventures, much to her amusement, are being chronicled in a trilogy of books, titled "Unexpected Results."

Just a note

The mission difficulty setting of the TF leader does indeed affect the missions. Geared up for the Bricks TF today. Had 3 blasters, two controllers, defender, scrapper, tanker. I was the leader (35/scrap) and have my difficulty set to invincible. We enter the first mission, and it's all 38 and 39 Paragon Protectors. The tank is one of those that don't wait for the team, plows into mobs, you know the type. So he keeps going even after a number of us die a couple times, and are all agreeing that we need to restart and reset. After the tank aggros everything in a large room, and damn near all the squishies die (one of the blasters leaves), I help him finish the room then inform the team that I'm done, if anyone wants to reset I'll be at Manticore.

We meet back up, get a tank to replace the blaster, and I reset my mission difficulty to hard boiled (with pp's MoGing all over the place didn't want to go any harder). Enter the mission, everything is in the +1 range, with an occasional +2. Much easier, we blow through the TF in a couple hours. In hindsight we could have handled another notch up on the difficulty, but it made it go fast as it was.

So watch what your TF leader has their missions set to before you start. It will save you some time and debt.

Lag problems

I logged on today took my free respec and then went to class. Then when I got home and after doing some homeowrk, I tried to logg on and then met with some increadibly lagg issues. Takeing like 30-40 seconds for me to actually logg on with a character.

anyone else suffering this problem and know what is going on?

Now while I have not an optimal system for the game but even then things run better than this.

Any idea as to what is going on?

Issue 3 Patch notes!

In a further effort to make sure nobody gets too powerful too fast, it is now 100% mandatory to have a travel power.

-Your contacts will be assigned as far away from your missions as possible, if not in another zone, every time.
-Your missions will be found in areas that are far too tough for you to walk or run through without dying. Please remember to have a full team every time you play. Somehow.

For your convenience, it is 100% mandatory to get Stamina ASAP.

-More baddies were added!
-Baddies got tougher.
-Your powers now consume more endurance, faster.

Whichever critical abilities you end up sacrificing from your main powersets so you can manage this is up to you. However, the less powerful you are meets developer requirements to make the game harder and take longer, so thank you for your patience.

Yeah, I've been a slacker.

Respecs
* Training Room got re-issued respecs yesterday a couple of times to test the system. Respecs will probably go live today or tomorrow.

Kheldians
* The -30% debuff to damage and defense for human form (-15% on Nova form)  Kheldians is still live. A fix is in the pipeline.
* Kheldians will have reduced HP (in all forms) once the fix goes live. Statesman is working on ideas to allow Dwarf form to still be able to tank with Blaster hitpoints.

Interview
* An interview with Statesman is here. Talks a bit about CoV and names the new Archetypes - "The Brute. The Stalker. The Enforcer. The Mastermind."

Fixes
* Eden spawns are being fixed to remove 41s mixed with 30s.
* "And we're making a few changes to make Shadow Shard and Crash Site more accessible. For instance - putting a teleporter in Peregrine Island so that player 40's can get to and from easily."

Kheldians

So, I'm finally one of those l33t few who can make a Kheldian. I've made both a Peacebringer and a Warshade. Some insights:

Fly is -really really- slow at level 1. Really slow. Above hover, true, but only by a little bit. Endurance hog, still.

The powers are very pretty. Peacebringers get all kinds of sparklies and neat sounds, warshades have that neat umbral look to them and have a whole lot of nice little particle effects. Both have nice buttons, comparatively speaking.

I have to say I was sort of happy that a lot of people were disappointed by them. It made me cynical. So far, I don't see too much more terrible than a regular blaster. I see something with 'Quantum' in its name, it's the first to get hit and killed as QUICKLY as I can, because man that thing hurts a lot. Funny thing about Quantum guns, however. They hit both with the Kheldian SuperHitSpecial and a Negative energy piece. Well, both Kheld batches resist negative naturally, and that just strikes me as funny.

So, anyone else having fun with their Kheldians? I guess going from level 50 back to lowbie is harder for someone, but I've been playing a lot of low level alts lately, so maybe my perspective is just a bit different from those I usually play with..

*Ping!* Level 30!

Thanks to the assistance of my supergroup mates Hero Number 5 and Canyon Jim, Doc Momentum on Guardian server hit level 30 over the weekend!

I picked up Tough Hide. (At I want to take the moment to say that I actually like the Invulnerability changes. Other than the fact that I can't take on three orange bosses at once, the game is actually easier, more fun, and Doc Momentum fits my vision for the character better. And I should have never been able to solo a pack of lost that included three Orange bosses - that's just silly.)

As of reaching 30, I've started my 3rd costume mission, and my special effects mission. And I kicked my mission toughness slider up a notch. Good times!

(Oh, and for what it's worth, I was *THRILLED* to go from 29 to 30 without running out of missions. *THRILLED*. Though I am developing a severe allergy to timed mission.)

Rugged versus hard-boiled on a team?

If this is a repeat question I apoligize, but I have a question and was hoping someone here knew.

I raised my AR/Dev blaster from Hard Boiled to Rugged, and it's working great for him. Personal missions are now +1-3 mob wise and end bosses are consistantly +1. No big deal for him. My question is does this affect team missions when he's on a team? I grouped last night with him and the other players mission (Hard Boiled) turned in a deathfest real fast. No problems with players, characters all worked like a team, group was SK'd within 3-4 levels, just the mission (set at SL 16) kept spawning huge mobs of 18's, and I was worried that my personal choice might be affecting the whole team when i group now, which would really suck.

Any answers would be welcome. Thanks! Already got the answer, and a little bit of nastyness too. FYI, in case you missed it above, the mission wasn't my mission. What isn't above is the grouping was with people in my SG who knew I was at a higher difficulty, which is why we didn't do my missions. Thanks!

Invul Changes, take 2.

Some of you out there have Invul Tankers and Scrappers, I want to hear what you think of the changes now that you've had time to play them.

My thoughts?

Boo.

I got held twice with Unyielding up. And died. Yep. Three toogles running and she holds me. Blasts me. Then kicks my face to the curb while i'm trying to get my three toggles running again.

These changes officially blow.

As I whined about earlier about Invincibility being just shiny lip gloss now, well Unyielding is more like a Pedestrian Crosswalk. ..Er. You know what I mean, we get ran over! :P

Seriously Considering...

Leaving CoH now! I've really enjoyed this game until this new boss change. My highest toon is a lvl 34 blaster. I was doing a DE timed mission and had an orange boss. I died three times fighting him and barely put a dent in his hit points. Each time I fought him, I used a different strategies to take him out. I ate many inspirations in and that didn't help. So I gave up! I don't like to team that often and that's why I picked a blaster so I wouldn't have to. Yeah I know scrapper are suppose to be the AT that can solo best, but up until this update I was soloing fine. I would die on occasion, because of a mistake on my part. I consider my toon's build a good one and my play style as cautious. I didn't start playing this game to get frustrated and accumulate debt and slow my lvling to a crawl. I'm not sure what's going to happen if Dev's will roll back this change or not. Some of my friends have already cancelled their accounts and I think I'm next.

I thought that we were supposed to get bows in Issue 3? I'm slightly disappointed, elfwench that I am.  Ah well, maybe we'll get them in Issue 4, along with some new costuming choices...

Not so happy.

Scene: Anti Matter mission. Level 47, all minions.

Me: Inv/SS Tanker. For the record, my resists are 5 slotted, Inv is 6 slotted (5 Dam resist 1 tohit), all other Inv powers are at least 5 slotted with defence.

I went into a mob of those radiation robots, they brought me down to a sliver of Hp in seconds. TI, UStance and Invince running.

I'm.. Not very happy with this. No defence against ranged? I'm a walking 2800hp blaster. :(

Say what you want about US being mobile and blah blah blah it's so much easier and Inv deserved this, but what I have to say is this sucks. The 41 Regen Scrapper with *PERMA* MoG could tank them better than I could. What am I? A level 50. These minions that were -3 to me almost had me on the laboratory ground.

Pardon the language, but this is bullshit.
