With all the new power customization, wouldn't it be swell if you could change "taunt" to flipping someone the finger?

I know it could never really happen, but I'd create a tank just for it.

There are days and weeks when I'm in the mood for grinding.  I craft IOs with such production line fervor that I fill multiple enhancement tables in a couple of hours, have to use my other characters to mule out goods to Wentworths to make more room, solo-farm the same mission (or the Cimeroran walls; my favorite) over and over again, cos sometimes, it scratches that itch, or focus on a character with single-minded determination to get them to 50 in a couple of weeks (no, not with AE farms)--and yes, I do have a full-time day job and a little bit of a social life! 

On the other hand, I'm also an avid RPer, and lead near-nightly Task Forces and radio teams for my SG members and PuGs we find and make friends with along the way.   And though the second might also fall into the category of "grinding," other people seem to enjoy doing it with me.

But that's not really what I'm here to tell you about.

I'm going to tell you about my 71-year-old father.  He doesn't play City of Heroes, but his casual interest in electronic gaming is certainly what got me started on my obsessions as  wee child with an Atari 2600.  My retired dad, who usually sends me silly e-mail forwards every day, but hadn't for a few days so I was concerned and hopped over to his Facebook to see if he'd updated that.

Well, it turns out he had.  He hasn't been sending me emails because he's been so obsessed with getting high scores in a Facebook game called Hatchlings, that, based on how he described his strategies to some lady in a related community he was in, he has been playing with such a production line fervor that I can only describe as "grinding" or "farming."

Like father like daughter?  I wonder if I could sell him on CoX... my new base needs more prestige....

And with tonight's game session out of the way, I've accomplished another couple of personal goals in City of Heroes.

Using the "temporary power" Baseball Bat, I have now hit every one of the high-tier ultra-super-villains (Ghost Widow, Sirrocco, Lord Recluse, Mako, etc) over the back of the head with a baseball bat.

Now I just need to finish out clubbing all the Praetorians (evil alt-dimension heroes) over the head with it. I may need to buy a new bat before I'm done with that, this one's almost used up.

Anyone have any suggestions as to my next goofy mission?

You create a new character with awesome combination of sets that you've never tried together before and a great concept, go through the Rikti invasions to get the weapon for the concept and log off in satisfaction at level 15.

Then you open your character spread sheet and find a character with the same powersets on another server at level 16.

Ok.. my husband and I had to go on a road trip today. Three hours of sitting in the car, listening to the radio.. and thinking of possible relatives for my favorite villain, Technic-Lee.

I invite all of you to flesh out a personality for some of the Lees in a comment. OR...

If you're feeling funky... I'd LOVE to pick a server, and make up the Massive-Lee Silly Supergrouop. Of course, we'd also have to have the Dastard-Lee Villain Group.

And I'd love to hear more suggestions!

I know this is silly beyond belief, but you have to admit, it's an easy way to come up with a character name or some inspiration, if you needed it.

So, in discussion with friends the other night, the topic of City of Heroes characters came up. Needless to say, a simple typo can go a long way to sparking insanity (namely, someone saying 'Laundry Hammer' which sounds like an infomercial product).

The conversation went downhill from there, and has led to the idea of the new force for justice and labor-saving - the supergroup known as As Seen on TV:
