Was musing about Safeguard missions the other day, for no particular reason.

And it occurred to me that -- this is from the Department of "Wouldn't It Be Awesome If ...?" -- heroside powers could work on destructible items just like villain powers do in mayhems, BUT you'd lose time for them instead of gaining bonus time.

So you lob a fireball (picking an example purely at random!) at a foe and the AoE damage takes out a few objects. Up comes the message PENALTY TIME and then NEWSSTANDS -1:00, or whatever.

But also have there be a badge ... the Property Damage badge, maybe. So if you wanted the badge, you'd have to destroy stuff ... but the more stuff you destroy, the less time you have ...

I don't know, I just think it'd be fun. But then, I'm skewed that way :)

Now anyone who knows me knows the only reason I could ever possibly want to involve myself with PvP is for badges. My boyfriend and I are currently wanting to work on our PvP rep badges. But before we get involved in something of this large of an undertaking, I have a couple questions.

1.) Do both heroes and villains count toward the rep badge or only villains? For instance if I take out a hero in the arena or at Warburg, will it count?

2.) Also is there a specific setting for the arena to make a fight count toward the rep badge especially if the two toons are of different levels?

3.) Is there any good way to get the rep badge quickly?

Any help is much appreciated!

Soooo...for that last exploration badge in the RWZ...you know, the one smack dab on the ship, do the shields have to be down for you to get that one? And if so, when is the next rikti raid on Protector, so I can try and get the stupid thing?

So, I'm sure a lot of you have my absolute insanity over the last few days racking up as many badges as I can. Last Saturday, I had approximately 280, essentially the same number I had shortly after I hit 50, in November 2005. As of this writing, I'm now at 359 badges and climbing. With the scheduled Triumph TFs between now and the end of July, I'll rack up at least a half dozen more.

However, I'm quickly running out of non-crafting, non-flashback badges that I can solo. I NEED YOUR HELP! :-D Here's the list of badges I'm still lacking:

I am working my new (old) project character, Magnificent, through the Phalanx task forces for the accolade. She doesn't need it (Quick Recovery & Stamina = LOLend), but it's shiny. And the TFs are fun. I did Posi and Synapse a long time ago, and I did Citadel a couple days ago with a Virtue Badges PUG.

Tonight, I set up an impromptu Sister Psyche, and got JUST enough people responding to start. I thought about setting "no deaths," but skipped it, knowing we had 3/5 squishies. Well, I should have known better, because it was an LJ crew, and LJ crews do nothing if not steamroll. No deaths (damn badge escaped me!), and we finished in 3:26 (though that included some standing around, jabbering, after finishing the last mission and not exiting).

The 48 month award was CONFIRMED by Ex Libris yesterday. Yes, they had been leaked on the test servers and whatnot, but I try to ignore as much speculation about the game as I possibly can.

To answer another question: there were no numbers given out by the DEVS/COMM REPS. Some players may have reported them, but I'm not going to go digging for that information.

For villains, can anyone recommend arcs to take to get the various badges at the various levels?

Is there a list somewhere?

The top reason is you get a relatively quickly (5 minute) recharging portal to AP, FF, IP, PI, Talos, and board-train mishes! I love being able to quickly go to PI and FF. And in Talos it dumps your near the train, the SG portal, and the trainer. So convenient! And I keep forgetting that you can get to board-trains that way, too. I hate traveling in this game, so this is so nice, I almost wouldn't care if the time travel stuff were to go away.

The second reason is it is a way to get the Spelunker Badge if you missed it. I spent all of Sunday trying to unlock Hess on my blaster on Champion. I was on a great team, and we decided in addition to helping each other hit 25 and unlock Hess, we'd also go for the Atlas Medallion accolade. About maybe half the team didn't know anything about Ouro. The rest of us were delighted to show it to them and get them the portal and get all of us the accolade. Yay!

(And I carefully got us to avoid returning to Outbreak, but now I realize that was a mistake. With a team that worked that well together, getting Isolater probably would have been less painful than usual. Oh well. Unlocking Hess and getting the Atlas Accolade and the Ouroboros Portal is a good day's work. :)

There should be badges for leading! Just like how there are badges for mentoring...

How in the world is this being done?! My best time after ~2 hours of practice was 39 seconds. I tried every suggestion I saw - move with mouse, move with strafe keys, zoom out, use Zero-G pack, with speed boost, without speed boost, with sprint, without sprint - and so far all I've succeeded in doing is frustrating myself over a freakin' badge. I can't see the poles to hit them reliably and I inevitably end up veering out of control like a drunken idiot. I've only gotten under a minute twice, and both of those times I used fly - I just can't control my movement on the ground. I used to think I had pretty good reflexes, but this is discouraging. :/ So, I should probably just give up, because it's so not worth it, but I thought I'd ask - do any of you have any super-sekrit techniques for this? Because this thing is kicking my ass.

Ignore me. It took hours, but FINALLY! 24.13 - AM + Zero-G pack + Sprint + way too much practice = WIN!

It was so nice to be on a PuG of such good players, who worked *as a team*. Dr.Aeon went down like a sack of spuds, as did the inner circle and the patrons. The only real difficulty we had was the flier kept getting aggrod whilst we were on the towers :S

I recently did the initial Ouroboros missions with Reboundancy, my one and only 50. I then did a random flashback (a level 14 clockwork arc). It was kind of nifty to be back in the old days again, for a little while. I even put on my first costume, which I haven't used for a long time. But after a while, I asked myself what the point was. Nostalgia is fine for a mission or two; unfortunately, it seems you have to finish the whole arc before you can do something else again. (BTW, is there a way to quit a solo flashback without completing it if you get bored/stuck?)

It is all about the badges, then? Not that there is anything wrong about being a badgehound, I just wondered if I had missed some less obvious gameplay treasure.

Oh, and the exemplaring without needing an anchor could be useful for someone wanting to rack up influence instead of XP, but that is probably pointless for a lvl 50. I seem to get the same influence whether I am exemplared or not.

Anything else? (Talking about the flashback only here, not the Ouroborous missions.)

is there a command to change your badge title, without having to actually select it through the gui? I've a toon who I've an idea for a costume for, but really, the concept would best be done if I can change the badge title with the outfit change.
