So, got my first 50 this weekend, and I shall be giving into my altitus soon. It's gotta be one of the epics. But my burning question, as a newbie, which one should I choose, Warshade or Peacebringer?

So far I've heard other peoples throughts, PBs are more scrapper/tanker (the ones I've teamed with have been tankers) while WSs are more 'trollers. Some people say they're the same, others say they're different.

What're your thoughts, stories and opinions?

WS is winning at the moment (blh120 helped there ;) ) so I'll start with that. Though I scrap' pretty much always, it'd be nice to have some pets and new-fangled powers!

First, fix graphics card! Meanwhile, devise characters!!

Meaning, half-SG, half PuG pickups. Co-op zones let you do some really wild things with team makeup. Last night I ran the ITF with a team that was literally unique - 8 members, 8 ATs. Half were 50s, the other half were 35+ sidekicks. The SG mates were a stone/SS Tank, BS/SR Scrapper, Bane Spider and Warshade (me). The pickups: a Dark Defender, a Kin Controller, a Psi Blaster and a Kin Corrupter. With that much DPS and double Speed Boost we bolted through the missions so quickly that I scarcely had time to register what anyone other then the Tank was doing.

I had Kheldian guilt over the three extra Cysts we had to fight on the third mission and apologised on behalf of "the in-laws." At the leader's suggestion we did the final mission in reverse order. We skipped to the AVs, spanked Romulus four times to unlock the Nictus weapons for the weapon users, defeated the Nicti then cleared towers to complete. We had no -regen but with two kins, massive damage and the combined -recharge of the Psi and Warshade blasts the AVs just sort of melted.

Posted finishing time: 1 hour, 40 minutes. A new personal record and another Scirocco's Dervish to throw on the heap.

Level 22 Peacebringer, Platinum Chase.

I have not touched this toon in ages, and a big deal of why is because I got tired of playing him. Humanform only, I imagine, was a big, big factor in this.

So, I'm asking for a quick and dirty build for a level 22 PB, SOs only. (If it doesn't work out I'm certainly not investing in IOs.) I'd like to try out the Nova and Dwarf forms, so mostly I need slotting ideas for those. I plan on 2 End Mod 2 To Hits in Nova itself, and I guess End Mod and Dam Res in the Dwarf too? Anyway. Having not played the forms I'm clueless toward them and would appreciate the advice.

Edit: Hey all, I want to say thanks for the advice. I am hoping to do a quick respec on my PB for this evening, to try things out. Eh, if I don't have time then I won't feel rushed when I do this later.

Well...it was a productive weekend after all.

I didn't play much this weekend, no more than usual anyways, since CoH for me was supposed to be a game I could take or leave, and wouldn't use up my time that I should spend on other concerns. However, I did dust off my 43 controller again to make some progress (I may be frustrated by the over abundance of fire controllers....but I still fundamentally enjoy the playing experience with her), and got onto a very good team that had me hitting 47 just before heading to bed.

2 new powers from my fire mastery, qualified to start building level 50 IOs, and at last check over 20 million influence in the bank to do that with. I'm actually getting keen to get her to 50 now, and finally try out a warshade/peacebringer. I think the next step is a respec trial though, before I kit out my final set of IOs. There are still some powers I never use, and some wasted enhancment slots that didn't live up to what I had in mind for them. I'm also tempted to go back to super speed....it's just more fun.

Speaking of which...someone on this forum told me they were planning to publish a "Warshade vs Peacebringers, what's the difference?" review. Since I am getting close...if they wanted to write that up, I'd love to see it.

I've another Kheldian IO question. Lately, I've been scouting out which sets to pursue and playing the market to afford them but a post on the boards has me thinking "wtf?"

I have a Peacebringer (lvl 16) that I took down from the shelf and blew the dust off last weekend. I respec'd him into a form specialist so right now, he's a good nova. I sold all of his dual-origin enhancements and then spent the afternoon playing the market, getting invention badges and slotting him up with IOs.

Could someone please tell me why Quantum Flight does not accept Flight set Invention Enhancements?

I can't put a Soaring - Endurance IO on it because it will not accept Flight set IO's.

I've been playing my Warshade quite a bit lately and for the most part have been enjoying it a lot. The only real hiccup i had was at 22 when I started feeling the burn of no stamina, but some IO slotting and that straightened itself out nicely.

With the first respec trial just around the corner, I figured I'd post my build here for you guys to see if you guys had any comments on it. The only things to keep in mind are I don't plan on taking any non-warshade powers and I plan on having all 3 forms. I use nova form for AOE damage, dwarf form for tanking, and human form for utility

3 Peacebringers + 3 Warshades + 2 Defenders = 20 minute Frostfire mission.

Which was nice since I was only able to get online for about half an hour last night. Poor guy didn't even get to summon his Fire Imps. I think everyone on the team leveled during the mission, too. Almost got tough to see the orange numbers through the haze of AoE. ;)

Are there any good concise guides out there that I could look at and get a quick general overview of what I should be doing with all the new salvage and recipe drops? I got back into playing over the recent holiday weekend after several months of inactivity. Now my PB has a full tray of recipes and I guess I should figure out which ones to save and which ones to sell.

For people partial to kheldians, do you ever catch yourself checking other peoples builds to see if it fits what you think it should be?

Do you ever go out of your way to have a spot open for Kheld's when creating a TF or Misison team?

What do you prefer a khelds role be in your team when they are in it?

Do your fear of quantums, voids, and crystals sometimes keep you from inviting them?

With every AT having atributes that overlap into the next, where do you think the Kheldians fit in?

Do Swift, Hurdle, Health, and Stamina still apply when a Peacebringer is in Nova or Dwarf form?

I foresee going crazy figuring out how I want to slot my PB since Blaster-in-a-box and Tanker-in-a-box add so many extra powers. I guess I also need to figure out which Pool power sets to take. Too many decisions! I think I better "/e alakazamreact" a few times to amuse myself and calm down....

For those of you who have been testing i9 longer than me (just reactivated my account a day ago, so only been testing for like one day and a bit) what's the deal for Kheldians and set bonuses? Do the bonuses carry over to forms? I've been testing with my Peacebringer, Spaghetti-Monster. The only set bonus I've gotten so far is the first tier of Air Burst, a targeted AoE set which I put into one of my squid form's blasts. Unforunately, the first set bonus for that is increased knockback, and for a Kheldian... well, it's a bit hard to tell if it's carrying over into forms, they start off with a ton of knockback, and a little bit extra is a bit hard to detect. I did note that my Dwarf form's attacks still just did knockDOWN, not knockBACK with the set in place, so I'm a bit worried now... (not that I actually wanted my Dwarf attacks to do knockback, but that's the set I got, and it's just on test, so whatever)

I could just go buy a set that gives a health boost or something else that's easy to detect, but I wanted to see how hard it was to get a set or two going without buying more than the odd ingredient, so....

for live what I';d really like is the +regen set bonuses for my Kheldian, would help the squid form's survivability a tad and make me able to tank better in dwarf, but if it doesn't carry over... :(

I'm getting involved in an RP group, and I've built a warshade for it. Since it's an RP group, I need to write a background, and I've got the perfect one for the human side of the symbiote relationship. However, I realized that I don't know anything about how a Nictus becomes a Warshade. I've done some searches on the CoH site and on the internet in general, but to no avail. So, I thought I'd try tapping you all. Does anyone have any info or resources on background information for the Kheldians or Warshades specifically?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Does stamina (and the rest of the fitness pool) stay active when you're in nova or dwarf form?

Edit: What if I hit build up and then switch forms really quick does that work?

Inspired by my son's new favorite show (Ben 10), I wanted to use alternate costume slots as "other alien forms" but I can't seem to get the macro to work like I want it to. What I want to do is switch to Nova (or Dwarf), but immediately change back (so I get the flash of light to go with the change) and then switch costumes to one of the "other aliens."

I tried variations of
"powexec_toggleon Bright Nova$$local "Going XLR8"$$powexec_toggleoff Bright Nova$$cc 2"

But it seems like, even when I put in the tell in the middle to break it up, I switch back and forth so quickly that I don't get the flash of light. (And having to wait 30 secs between each attempt got old.)

I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this - anyone else done this before?

With Dark Extraction, are you only limited to one pet at a time or as many as you can recharge your way through?

ETA: Does the type/level of guy you "extract" have any bearing on the pet's effectiveness?

Earlier this autumn, someone posted in a comment to another here a bind/macro that would aim at the group to see if there were any Kheldian specific foes in the mob. However, what with the change in tags, I can't find it back.

If anyone knows what this bind/macro was, please let me know.

I hopped onto the Test server for a few minutes last night. I'd left Jezebella at Icon the last time I logged out, so when I copied her over she was right where all the action was. It looked like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" in there, and it took some manuevering to get up to the counter and talk to the tailor.

I swapped out Jez's cape for demon wings and went wandering around Steel Canyon to give them try. They look pretty cool and they're animated well when flying, but I don't think I'd want them on the costume I wear most of the time. They block more of the view and it's a strange how stiff and lifeless they are compared to capes when I'm on the ground doing all the jumps, spins, and backflips that fill my attack chain. I'll probably still use them for "show" costume, though. Now if only we could get some tail options that aren't all skinny and jagged.

Jezebella Reborn, the Peacebringer clone of my main, is already Level 9. I've been experimenting to see how far I can get without spending good influence on TOs, and so far I've done just fine without slotting anything. I need to read up on keybinds, though. It'd be handy to have keys assigned that will toggle me out of Bright Nova form and activate Sprint or Energy Flight and Shining Shield all in one go.
