Just to follow up on the mysterious 5th costume slot showing up on the test server... it seems to be related to the upcoming Halloween event. A contact was discovered in Croatoa that asks you to gather certain items including one Statesman's Mask, one Recluse's Helmet, one Hamidon costume, and some other costumey stuff, in order to unlock a costume slot.

Positron said, in his recent w00t radio interview, that there would be a way to collect trick or treat items and trade them in for something they've never given out before. Speculation is that this is what he was talking about.

Nah, if it's Halloween, it's more likely "costume" masks, etc., in a trick-or-treat vein, not costume like we associate the term, game-wise.

intruiging... i just hope they let characters gain that slot for more than one day, cause that is not enough time for all my alts :P

The last Halloween event was a three day weekend, so I'm expecting the same thing will happen here. I'd bet it's a series of missions, too- one after another.

Only question is what the villain side will be. After all, you have to rip the cape off a defeated hero to wear one.

Whatever did that get locked for? A thread I started has lots of figurative fur flying (seems a simple feature request started a lot of catfights) and hasn't been locked (though to be fair, it's civil arguing) …

Either that, or they complain about everything ... some people are just that petty.

Seems to have petered out, fortunately, and Tech Support (via petition reply email) said they passed on the issue to the programmers.

I now have the mental image of a Hamidon costume being, well, a Hamidon costume.

cool, so it's our 'Halloween costume' slot? as long as we don't have to beat full on AV Recluse/States/Hamidon/whatever should be fine :) ('ll go talk to this contact right now to see for myself...

now... if we could put on the Hamidon costume.... would we be like little mini blobs all over paragon? that would be silly fun.
